Captain Bill's

xcellent! This is definitely the place to have a great party and would recommend Jimmy for the bartender and Samantha as your maitre'd. Both were super helpful and super friendly. I would highly recommend this place for any occasion. I will definitely be back in the near future.

wedding. We had the best day of our lives at Captain Bills, but there were a couple of things to be aware of if you are planning on booking. If you are getting married outside on the deck, there are people who will be sitting outside of the deck behind a partition eating dinner. This wasn't something that was disclosed to us until the month before when we were meeting to go over the menu. You could hear them talking during the ceremony, but it wasn't loud enough to interfere. Additionally, there were many times that we were told they would contact us (to set up the food tasting, to finalize details, to drop off final payment), but that didn't happen and I felt a little stressed that I had to be the one to contact them to set up these important meetings. I had some decor go missing during clean up, which isn't a big deal, but I emailed after the ceremony and still haven't heard back. While overall, we had an amazing experience, something to take note is that this venue requires you to utilize a Maitre'D as most venues do. I did not have the most positive experience with mine. Because you only meet them on the day of, it felt very stressed and rushed trying to get everybody ready to walk down the aisle. My other vendors had the details of who was walking with who, where the bridal party was going to stand, etc. because I had met with him them numerous times months prior, but my maitre'd did not seem to want to work with them or listen to them. At times, she even became rude and argumentative with my DJ, officiant, and photographer. This was really the only time I felt stressed on my wedding day. Overall, I think she is a nice person who wanted to do her job well, but she was constantly coming up to me asking me questions that took away from me being able to spend time with my guests. For example, asking me when I was going to pack up my decor when there were still 3 hours left in the reception. While this wasn't the most positive experience in the moment, I do appreciate that she made sure to pack us up a variety of food that we didn't get to try to bring home. Overall, I would give Captain Bills (Bayview House) a 4/5 for communication and the above that I described.

ing day and we were stunned when we walked into the room on our wedding day with the beauty of the room. Overall we found Captain Bill's to be very reasonably priced for the beautiful space. The amount of food between the Cocktail Hour and Reception without any upgrades was staggering and far exceeded our guests' expectations. Captain Bill's also accommodated our desire to have two dock slips for the wedding for those arriving via boat and to "duet" the first and second course. During COVID, we postponed our wedding and Captain Bill's was very understanding of our need to postpone, not introducing any charges or restrictions when the decision was made. Throughout the planning of the setup/decor of the Bayview house, we did run into some lack of flexibility in what we were allowed to do as far as set-up of the room, what type of decor we could rent and what was allowed to be changed. Ultimately, when the day approached Captain Bill's was more flexible that they initially indicated they would be about some decor rentals which was very much appreciated. However, I would recommend ensuring what you can/cannot do in writing if it is important to you to have the room set-up a certain way, or more importantly, if you want to bring in rented equipment, dishware, etc. We did not have issues on the day of however, as the staff was incredibly accommodating and understanding. Our only other note for improvement is in the communication of set-up/access to the wedding venue. We were told that there were no other events in the Bayview house the entire day, but that turned out not to be true. This ended up not being an issue as our wedding planner adjusted our setup timeline and Captain Bill's was incredibly quick at turning the room, but this was a minor obstacle where communication could have ben improved. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and highly recommend. We looked at over 20 venues across Long Island and for the price, quality of food/service, and beauty of the Bayview House it was clear we made the right decision for our wedding day. Special thanks to Chloe and her team for making the wedding of our dreams come true!

about the food! The bridal attendant Sam was amazing and attended to me and my entire bridal party all night long. The Bayview house was decorated beautifully and it didn't feel too tight with our amount of guests. HIGHLY recommend!

just wanted a another quick tour for my parents to see and that’s when everything went south. First the coordinator Jamie told me that my guest cannot come before the start time of my ceremony and that nothing would be ready and to also be prepared for brunch that would be finishing up. Also they didn’t make you feel special for your day she suggested taking pictures everywhere else other then the venue. They didn’t want to work with on anything also felt like I was burdening the restaurant then them focusing on an event. So we decide not to go with the venue and if us want dull people who are not helpful go with this venue.

t get over how good the cocktail hour was, the mac & cheese station was a huge hit. We had the bad luck of there having been a flood two days before our wedding they made sure all our guest arrived to the venue easily with their detour. As the weather turned out beautiful that day they offered to move our ceremony outdoors, and it was perfect right on the deck. I was not a fan of chair covers and although we opted for the premium package we notified the venue we would not be utilizing the covers. We did not ask for anything in return for turning down the service, however they offered us a hot pretzel station as a farewell treat for our guest, and it was greatly appreciated. We could not have asked for a better place to have our wedding.

d dinner wasn’t even needed lol. Cocktail Hour was in the outside section, however, due to weather the outdoor part was enclosed. It was still great though. I also got some nice pictures in the back where the boats dock. Our bridal assistant was AMAZING! She waited on hand and foot, made sure we ate, didn’t dwaddle when needed, and had a drink in our hands at all times. She was so accommodating and helpful throughout the entire night. I’m so glad we booked here, it was perfect for us with everything we were looking for in a venue. On the water, great food/service, amazing price, not a traditional wedding factory (which we loved) and it was located in bay shore! The only issue we had with them was the initial room setup. They had told me the week of my wedding to come any day and that I could set up the room (because I made a lot of decorations and florist was gonna set it up). When I showed up on at 11am on Thursday, the day before the wedding, the room was booked with a different event. At first, the manager told me I’d have to come back around 4pm to set up the room. I told her I couldn’t because I had my rehearsal dinner, and with some back and forth.. they finally agreed to set up the room for me. It was frustrating to have to have this conversation and figure it all out - but the day of service topped all this. Which is why I still rated 5 stars!!

ly. We were very lucky to have an absolutely gorgeous day and had our wedding ceremony on the dock. All our guests keep raving about the cocktail hour food and dinner food. Captain Bill's was perfect :)

a perfect day for my fiancé and myself. Our families couldn’t have been happier and we will highly recommend Captain Bills to anyone we know looking for a venue!

s were having a great time. The Bayview house is a spectacular on-the-water room with large windows and lovely decor at Christmas time. The lights and Garland and decorations including the enormous tree were more than we could've hoped for. And the food...hands down best quality!

l of the special moments. Two weeks later we continue to get positive comments and feedback from family and friends. It was the best day ever, and we would choose it again every time.

sts are still talking about how amazing their food was. The views from the cocktail hour and from their gorgeous windows were incredible. They were extremely reasonably priced. I am SO happy we got married there and highly recommend to anyone who wants a beautiful waterfront venue.

n amazing time. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable wedding by the sea.

o attentively (and forced us to eat! haha). We got nothing but compliments on the food and there were so many delicious choices to choose from. The package they offer includes everything needed and made planning so much easier. Also their prices (especially for a daytime wedding) are very reasonable. We are so thankful to Captain Bill's for making our wedding day everything we hoped for and more!

st value and most encompassing services (clearly defined tipping expectations, base decorations included, food service included, and cake included). Once we had selected them they were pleasant to work with, even though we had to plan from a few states away. The wedding day menu is very generous. We had a pleasant tasting experience and were able to select our appetizers and main courses confidently. Captain Bill’s gave us clear expectations for when we needed to give a final head count, choose a menu, and provide table set up. They also provided a packet with some vendors that they have had good experiences with, many of which we used. My wife and I are both fans of IPAs, and though they did not at the time serve any we were allowed to bring in several cases of some of our favorite cans to be served during the reception. The day of the ceremony both the Maitre’d and Attendant were very friendly and helpful. Family and friends have commented to us that the waitstaff and bar service were pleasant and attentive. The staff even sent us back to the hotel with the food that we were not able to stomach during the reception due to nerves. Several of our family and friends have commented that they enjoyed the venue and set up. The dance floor in the center of the tables was often full but didn't feel crowded and navigating to greet each table was not difficult. Based on what we heard from them all of our guests had an excellent time. Overall I can not say enough about the value that is included for a reception at Captain Bill’s nor how much fun we had at our reception.

wedding dreams come true. They went out of their way to ensure all of our requests were met and made sure everything ran smoothly. The food was absolutely delicious, our guests are still raving about it. I would highly recommend this venue!

their meals. My matre de was very attentive and helpful. The deck was great. We loved the boats in the background. We couldn’t have been happier

l, the staff including Annie, Sam and Kelly made sure the whole room was set up as described and took care of every detail during the event. My husband and I felt like royalty the entire night and we received an outrageous amount of compliments on the venue, service, and food!

tanding the venue was beautiful and we could not have asked for a better time.

ing compares to the weddings that they put on. My parents suggested the venue when my husband and I got engaged last summer, and after visiting other venues, we knew that the Bayview House was the right spot for our wedding. We loved the personal attention that we received every step of the way. On any given day, we could call on the phone or walk in and have our questions answered by Mike, Kelly, Diane, Donna, or any one of the other fabulous staff members at Captain Bill's. No question or request was too big or too small. During our engagement, whenever I would tell people that we were getting married at Captain Bill's, the first words out of their mouth, every single time, were how amazing the food is at Captain Bill's. Well, the food certainly did not disappoint! The guests are still talking about the impressive cocktail hour and dinner selections. Equally as wonderful as the food is the location and views that the Bayview House offers. The large windows overlooking the water and the gorgeous chandeliers made the room look stunning. Luckily, we were blessed with picture perfect weather on April 9, 2017, and we had our ceremony onsite in front of the fireplace in the Bayview House, which was convenient for our guests. We want to thank the fabulous staff at Captain Bill's for making it the best day of our lives! Love, Jenna and Brian

edding here!

e process leading up to the wedding easy. The wedding itself was beautiful! Annie the matrie a de was wonderful. Everyone loved the food and said it was the best wedding food they ever had. I loved having my wedding here and I would do it all over again. And honestly for the price you get such great value!

t wedding on the South Shore, think again! They made sure we had a perfect day (and made sure we ate!) We will surely recommend this venue to all our friends and family.

ompliments on the food. Working with the owner and staff prior to the wedding was always easy and an enjoyable experience. I feel as though this venue is a hidden gem on the south shore of Long Island - Best place ever!

ant and maitre'd were wonderful!!!!!!!

er, beautiful (but not gaudy) chandeliers, great floor plan, large dance floor with a fireplace and a romantic staircase leading up to the bridal suite made it the perfect venue for us. The staff at Captain Bill's was so wonderful from the very beginning. They were so nice and friendly and willing to work with us in every way. The food was amazing! (Often times when we mentioned to people where we were having our wedding they said, "I love that place! Best food!") Our wedding was truly a dream come true. Anne, the maitre'd and Olga, the bridal attendant, were absolutely wonderful!! They are both incredibly nice and accommodating and really made me feel like a princess! We and our guests and such an amazing time at our wedding! It would not have been as perfect anywhere else. Can't wait to come back to Captain Bill's for anniversaries and other celebrations :)

endant & maitre d - they were beyond helpful and such nice women. Good luck in all of your wedding plans. It's a crazy ride but worth the journey!

nd and I were looking for. The ballroom is huge and wide open with high ceilings and beautiful windows. The deck where cocktail hour is held is perfect, overlooking the docks and the bay. I've been to plenty of other events at Captain Bill's and the food is always amazing. I feel that food at weddings is usually pretty forgettable but not at Captain Bill's; we had people calling us for days raving about the unbelievable food! Our Maitre'd and bridal attendant were great, very attentive, always had our drinks full, asking if we needed anything, we couldn't have asked for better service. Peter McCarthy (co-owner) and his staff took wonderful care of us from the very beginning. They were able to work with me to make some changes and additions to their normal menu without a problem, whatever we wanted, we got. Peter assisted us in making menu decisions, and we were not disappointed! I would recommend the Bayview House at Captain Bill's to anyone who is looking for a beautiful waterfront location for their wedding reception; with unbelievably delicious food and impeccable service. The prices were extremely reasonable as well. We loved The Bayview House!

leasant to be around. The service they provided me made my day that much easier and less stressful. I highly recommend anyone who is interested in having their wedding there to go and see it for themselves. Also, being right on the water has a great feel and makes for beautiful pictures.

mazing as well. They were with me every step of the way helping me out. The venue is beautiful and the food was delicious.
