We used Cantor Laura for pre-marital counseling only because we were having a friend officiate our ceremony but wanted an "expert" to help us navigate some things leading up to the...
wedding. Cantor Stein was incredible! She came to our apartment to get to know us, and then we met on Zoom thereafter. She was warm, professional, and skilled in all things counseling. She was able to combine Jewish topics and mental health issues together, and since my husband isn't Jewish, we had a lot of questions about raising interfaith kids. We also talked through family dynamics and other things that felt relevant and important (like finances, boundaries, communication, and more). We really valued our time with Cantor Laura and felt very well-prepared for our life together because of her guidance. My husband and I even say now, a year after the wedding, that if we ever need couples therapy, we'll definitely go back to her! We can't thank her enough for being there for us and helping us prepare for our life together and highly recommend her!
Working with Cantor Stein throughout our wedding process was an extremely rewarding experience. At our first meeting, she welcomed Elena and me into her home, offered us food, and ...
took careful notes as we shared our family histories. She used those stories to fully customize the ceremony around who we are.
A few months later, closer to the wedding, we hosted her at our home, where she walked us through exactly what the day would look like and how she would weave our family histories into the ceremony. In our final session, she led a short premarital counseling conversation that reaffirmed our feelings for each other and gave us meaningful ways to support one another even more.
The wedding day itself was phenomenal. So many guests came up to us afterward to compliment the ceremony. Before the event, Cantor Stein told us to soak it all in, and everything about that day has stayed with us.
I cannot recommend Cantor Stein highly enough. She was a pleasure to work with and made our day as memorable as it could possibly be. Thank you, Cantor Stein, for everything. We hope to work with you again!

ress our history and families beautifully. The ketubah signing and ceremony was absolutely incredible and just felt so special and magical!! We can’t stop talking about it! Everyone is raving about you and we appreciate all your love and support!! Thank you so much for sharing our love story with our friends and family. Your words truly mean so much and we will never forget this time!

omfortable every step of the way. Our ceremony was so beautiful and meaningful, and our guests absolutely loved her and we even had people joking that she made them want to convert to Judaism! We’re so grateful she was such a special part of our day and can’t recommend her enough.

. She guided us through every step with warmth, patience, and a sense of humor that put us at ease. And her voice under the chuppah was unforgettable; our guests are still talking about it. We couldn't imagine our day without her, and we recommend her to any couple without hesitation

rthodox for a parent to leave a review for their child's wedding officiant, but we still continue to hear compliments about the ceremony and we just had to leave a note here. My husband and I still have friends asking us for Cantor Stein's contact information for their children's events, and people still remark on her humor, warmth, and overall "performance" all these years later. I understand from my daughter and son-in-law that beforehand, Cantor Stein met with them to get to know them, and that they found this very helpful. On the actual wedding day, we found Cantor's presence to be calming, orienting, and sweet. The ceremony she put on was just the right amount of entertaining and professional. We could not recommend her more and wish we had more kids so that she could be back for another of our family weddings!

nalizing our ceremony. When our daughter Arden was born, we knew we had to have Cantor Stein lead Arden's baby naming at her first birthday. It is so meaningful to have Cantor Stein there for my husband and I's life milestones. Our newest son, Grey, already has Cantor Stein lined up for his baby naming for his first birthday!
My husband and I aren't very religious, and have found that Cantor Stein's style adds just the right amount of religious elements to help our events feel important, but still very personal to us.

remony which Cantor Stein co-officiated with a Catholic priest. Cantor Stein worked beautifully with the priest, and together they created an incredibly meaningful ceremony that seamlessly wove elements of both of our faiths. It felt personal, respectful, and deeply special—more than we could have hoped for!
Our pre-marital counseling with Cantor Stein was just as impactful. She guided us through the entire process with such kindness, warmth, and care. She created a safe, judgment-free space for us to have important conversations—about religion, finances, and how we want to raise a family. While many of these were topics we had already discussed, having Cantor Stein there to help us navigate them in the context of our upcoming marriage made all the difference. Her perspective and guidance were truly invaluable.
Cantor Stein was amazing to work with—we absolutely love her! Even now, people still tell us how beautiful and unique our ceremony was. It was truly special, and it would not have been possible without Cantor Stein!
Cantor Stein was truly phenomenal! She created a wedding ceremony that exceeded every expectation we had. It was deeply personal, incredibly moving, and beautifully delivered.

the months leading up to the wedding, we met with Cantor Stein several times so she could truly get to know us as a couple. Those sessions were thoughtful, intentional, and grounding. Not only did her process help to shape the ceremony, but it also gave us space to reflect on our relationship and what marriage means to us.
That investment carried through to the ceremony itself, which felt completely authentic and uniquely ours. So many guests told us it was one of the most meaningful ceremonies they had ever experienced.
Her voice is absolutely stunning, and her presence brought such warmth and intention to every moment. The Ketubah signing was especially powerful and made us feel so connected as a new family.
We are endlessly grateful for the role she played in our wedding day and cannot recommend her highly enough! Thank you, Cantor Stein!!
Finding someone to officiate our wedding was challenging because my husband and I did not belong to a synagogue, and it felt difficult to find a rabbi or cantor who could create a ...
true sense of community without that built-in connection. After seeing Cantor Stein officiate our friends’ wedding, we immediately had a feeling she was the person we wanted for ours too and she exceeded every expectation. From the very beginning, she made the entire process feel seamless, personal, and genuinely enjoyable. We met Cantor Stein a few times before our wedding and she spent hours getting to know us, and many times our conversations went far beyond wedding planning, as it felt like talking with someone who truly cared about who we were as people. She understood exactly what we wanted: a ceremony that honored our Jewish traditions while still feeling authentic to us and not overly religious. She took the time to learn every detail about our families and the traditions we wanted to incorporate, listening so carefully and thoughtfully throughout the process. Cantor Stein has created something truly special where you feel part of a meaningful community even if you are not part of a synagogue, and to this day our guests (both Jewish and non-Jewish) still talk about how beautiful and impactful our ceremony was. We truly cannot recommend her enough!!

ny in particular. Her background as a therapist added a really special dimension to her process. Her therapeutic approach to get to know us beforehand made the ceremony so much more meaningful that we could have imagined. She officiated a beautiful, warm, connected ceremony. Our friends and family we so touched by how heartfelt it was – they all raved!! And a huge plus – she has the most beautiful voice!
Cantor Laura officiated our wedding in November and we could not have been happier with our experience! Before the wedding, she went through the process of getting to know us as a ...
couple and counseling us through the parts of the ceremony that mattered most to us. As a non-binary couple, we had questions about language, ritual, and how to make the ceremony feel affirming of our identities. Cantor Laura was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely committed to creating a ceremony that felt like us. She adapted the traditional Hebrew language to be gender-inclusive and explained options we didn’t even know were possible for other elements of the ceremony that are traditionally not egalitarian. On our wedding day, she was personable and professional, and she performed the ceremony in a way that helped our guests understand what everything meant. But nothing compared to her voice! She sings like a songbird—truly! Everyone came up to us afterward asking, “How did we find her? She was phenomenal!" Hiring Cantor Laura was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. She made the ceremony so special, and our guests are still raving about it. Honestly, it was our favorite part of the evening, and we have Cantor Laura to thank for making our dream of a balanced, accessible, and inclusive ceremony come true. Thank you so much for everything you did, Cantor...we really can’t wait to have you at our next big family event!

h lightning speed, and even went above and beyond to help us get our marriage certificate corrected when the city made an error!
Guests raved about how personal and meaningful the ceremony was, and we totally agree. Meeting with her in our apartment (twice!) really allowed us to form a real relationship. She also made the Jewish aspects of the ceremony accessible for our non-Jewish guests. And her beautiful singing voice was the icing on the cake!
We feel incredibly lucky to have had Cantor Stein as our officiant and would recommend her wholeheartedly to any couple.

ial, customized ceremony for us. We got so many compliments from guests about our ceremony! We had an interfaith ceremony so it was important to us to incorporate traditions from both of our religions, and Cantor Stein was really accommodating and creative in suggesting ways to make that happen. We can’t thank her enough for making our wedding so special!
Cantor Stein was amazing throughout the entire process, both in the planning stages and during the ceremony. She helped make our wedding day that much more special!!

Cantor Stein was the best officiant we could have ever imagined!
My wife and I had been putting off our search for a officiant ahead of the wedding out of fear we wouldn't be able...
to find the perfect match. I wanted someone who could incorporate elements of my Jewish background, without doing a full-blown Jewish ceremony, while my wife prioritized an officiant who could guide a ceremony that was a genuine reflection of our relationship.
We felt truly fortunate to discover Cantor Stein on 18Doors. She was the perfect partner throughout the process to help craft the wedding ceremony of our dreams. Once we decided that we were a match, Cantor Stein came to our home for a session to get to know us better. With her background as a licensed therapist, we got right into a deep discussion on our lives and our relationship that allowed her to get to know us more intimately.
In future sessions we worked on designing the ceremony. She was incredibly flexible in accommodating which elements of the Jewish wedding we wanted to preserve, where we wanted to incorporate a twist and also encouraged us to sprinkle in secular touches that were uniquely us. Whenever we had questions, Cantor Stein's experience was a valuable resource to help us feel confident about our decisions.
In the end, the ceremony was far and above our expectations despite some last minute curveballs (volatile weather forecast, last minute cancellations, etc.). We had many guests come up to us after the ceremony, and in the weeks following the wedding, telling us how beautiful the ceremony was and what an incredible job the Cantor did. The best compliment we consistently received was that the ceremony wonderfully exemplified our relationship and showcased our love for one another. If you're having trouble finding the perfect officiant to highlight your uniqueness, Cantor Stein is the right fit for you!

e we would come to love and appreciate her throughout the entire process leading up to our big day.
She took the time to truly get to know us — not just as a couple, but as individuals — and that made our ceremony feel incredibly personal and genuine. She guided us in creating a ceremony that was deeply meaningful and authentic to who we are. She didn’t just perform rituals — she explained the significance of each one and helped us reflect on what marriage truly means.
On the day of, something unexpected happened during the ceremony, and she handled it with such grace and ease; we honestly can’t imagine anyone else navigating it the way she did. Her presence, warmth, and ability to adapt made all the difference.
We are beyond grateful for everything she did. If you’re considering Cantor Stein, don’t think twice — choosing her was the best decisions we made.

e it come to life. We enjoyed our sessions with Cantor Stein prior to our wedding; we were able to have a deeper understanding of each other and she made the process meaningful and fun! Cantor Stein was responsive, helpful, and kind. She helped us create a ceremony that was the centerpiece of our wedding day; she helped us figure out which Jewish elements to incorporate and gave us guidance while allowing us freedom to create the ceremony we dreamed of. Cantor Stein has a beautiful voice and is an incredible speaker. Our guests commented on how phenomenal she was and said it was the best led wedding ceremony they have attended. We truly are so grateful to Cantor Stein and highly recommend working with her.

ere looking for a really integrated process where we could learn and grow throughout our engagement period and before our wedding. When interviewing other rabbis and cantors, it seemed like people knew how to help with the Jewish side of things, but fell short in real counseling chops. We were interested in someone with a broader skillset...someone who could not only guide us spiritually but who could step into our world, get to know us, and help us reach our potential as a couple. Cantor Stein guided us in a way that exceeded our expectations. She is not only knowledgeable and skilled as a cantor and a therapist, but she's funny, kind, and creative in her thinking. She came to our home and even brought rugelach, lol. So many of our guests commented after the ceremony that she seemed like an old friend and I attribute this not only to her accessible performance style, but also to the deep effort she put into getting to know us and celebrating us publicly with our family and friends. After talking to so many potential vendors before deciding to go with Cantor Stein and seeing what other people offer, it's hard to imagine anyone else marrying us. We could not be happier to know Cantor Stein and plan to continue couples work with her as we build our family and enter into this next stage of life.

One of my fondest memories was right before walking down the aisle, during our intimate ketubah signing with our families. Cantor Stein created a warm and emotional space that allowed us all to really take in the moment — it was incredibly special.
During the ceremony, she asked us to share "three favorite things" about each other, a personal touch that had everyone smiling (and tearing up!). It made the ceremony feel so uniquely ours.
Everyone kept telling us afterward how breathtaking her voice was and how beautifully she led the ceremony. She has such a calming, joyful presence that made the entire day even more meaningful.
We feel so grateful to have had Cantor Stein as part of our wedding — we will cherish those moments forever!

comfortable from the very beginning. We could not have been more thrilled with how the ceremony went - she made everything so personable and special. It was such a moving ceremony and one of our biggest highlights of the whole day. ble. She was quick with communication and made the whole process easy. Through her three session process, we were able to get to know Cantor Stein and she was able to get to know us individually and as a couple. The sessions and the exercises she gave as homework helped us to get to know each other better as a couple as well. When it came to the wedding day, Cantor Stein performed an absolutely beautiful ceremony. We felt it was personal, spiritual, and really highlighted us as a couple and the things/people we feel are most important. We wouldn't hesitate to hire Cantor Stein again!

Since the wedding, our friends and family still rave about how special the ceremony was. Many of them have said it was one of the most beautiful weddings they’ve ever attended, not just because of the setting, but because of the way the ceremony so meaningfully wove together two distinct traditions with love and respect.

ony to be. We knew we wanted to tie in pieces from both of our upbringing, and Laura did exactly that. She guided us with specific questions to figure out the PERFECT balance for me and my husband. Our ceremony was emotional, funny, personal, and Jewish with a hint of christianity, which was perfect for us. The compliments we got from guests about our ceremony were GLOWING. Everyone was able to relate and I think about 99% of our guests were crying in the most happy way.
We did a private ketubah signing, and she explained the process and the meaning behind a ketubah so eloquently for my family who is not Jewish. Everyone loved it.
The preparation and planning prior to the wedding was laid out clearly so we knew exactly what we needed. We also loved the counseling session where we go over challenges that we may encounter as a married couple, and review the reasons we fell in love in the first place.
Additionally, Laura is extremely personable, funny, relatable, professional, smart, and overall an absolute joy to spend time with. We could not recommend Cantor Laura Stein for your wedding ceremony enough! Whether you and your partner are both Jewish, or you are interfaith, she will make the ceremony perfect for you.

We both were nervous about being the center of attention, so we had decided that we wanted to exchange our vows privately, but Cantor Stein encouraged us to add something to the ceremony called “Three favorite things” where we sent her our 3 favorite things about each other privately, and she wove those into the ceremony itself. It was such an unexpectedly intimate and joyful thing to hear on our day and to share with our guests, and we loved that it didn’t require us to say anything live. So many of our guests complimented Cantor Stein for crafting such an engaging ceremony.
Thank you!

but also a personal warmth that made the entire process so meaningful and memorable. Cantor Stein’s thoughtful three-step process was a game-changer. First, she took the time to truly get to know us as a couple, asking insightful questions that encouraged us to reflect on our relationship. Next, she facilitated essential conversations that helped us prepare for marriage, ensuring we were aligned on the big questions and ready for this incredible journey together. Finally, she worked closely with us to craft a ceremony that was not only steeped in the beautiful traditions of Judaism but also uniquely meaningful to us as a couple. Her dedication to making our pivotal moment of becoming husband and wife deeply special was evident in every detail. One of the highlights of our ceremony was Cantor Stein’s inclusion of “3 Favorite Things.” This creative touch allowed our friends and family to hear personal anecdotes about our relationship, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into what makes our bond so strong. It brought laughter, happy tears, and a true sense of connection to everyone in attendance. Thanks to Cantor Stein, our wedding day was everything we hoped for and more. She is a gifted officiant who combines tradition, creativity, and heart in a way that is truly unparalleled. We feel so grateful to have had her by our side during such an important milestone in our lives and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a meaningful, personalized, and unforgettable wedding ceremony. eremony but we also wanted an officiant that understood us both as an interfaith and queer couple. Cantor Stein completely fit the bill. She has the perfect mix of traditional yet modern. She has experience working with LGBTQ couples so she made us feel seen. She met with us three times and really took the time to get to know us as individuals and as a couple to try to create a ceremony that was meaningful and personal. She even provided couples counseling where we got to learn more about each other on the issues that are important in a marriage. It was so beneficial and our ceremony was that perfect blend of traditional yet us. Our non Jewish family raved about wanting to convert and everyone still talks about how great she was coming up on year later. Cantor Stein really took her time and made sure our ceremony was just perfect. Highly recommend!
Cantor Laura is awesome! She made the ketubah and marriage license signing feel like such a profound and special moment -- and then cracked up the entire room during our ceremony. ...
We really appreciated how she took the time and effort to get to know us as a couple, then made our ceremony feel like an accurate reflection of the two of us. She injected both gravity and delight into the ceremony. And her voice is stunning as well. As so many other reviewers name - many, many of our guests (from the very religious to the non-religious) let us know that our ceremony felt super personal, that she clearly knew us well, and that Cantor Stein made the event really meaningful. She also has a phenomenally lovely singing voice. She made our wedding ceremony truly special, and we wouldn’t change a single thing!

We encountered a lot of last minute changes on our wedding day, due to unforeseen rain, and she was extremely helpful in seamlessly rolling with the changes. She was an integral voice in ensuring everything was set up appropriately under the chuppah and helped alleviate any stress. Finally, Cantor Stein knew us well and was able to convey our love and our story so well at our wedding. We are so happy that she was a part of our special day, and we can't wait for her to join us for the next simcha :).

During our wedding reception, the majority of our guests stopped us to tell us how beautiful our ceremony was (and how amazing Cantor Stein is). We look forward to including her in our future life events!
Cantor Laura was absolutely amazing and I only have the most positive things to say about our experience with her!!!

y and comfortable with her. Our sessions working together were easy, comfortable and fun!
We are an interfaith couple and she made us feel so comfortable and so happy the entire time we worked with her. She worked with us to incorporate the amount of religion that me and my husband both felt comfortable with.
Our ceremony could not have been more amazing. It was both special and touching but also funny and she had the whole room laughing too! I had so many people come up to me afterwards letting me know how amazing she was. I wouldn’t have changed a thing - we’re so happy we used her!
Update for 2026
We are now having Cantor Stein perform our son’s baby naming, we had such an amazing experience at our wedding! We’re so lucky to have her support our growing family and cannot recommend her highly enough!
If I could leave 100 stars I would. Cantor Stein is absolutely incredible. My husband and I knew we wanted someone to marry us that was warm, friendly, not too serious and brought ...
a positive light to the ceremony. Cantor Stein did that and more. From the moment we met her and every time we left a session, my husband and I turned to each other and beamed at how wonderful she is. Getting to know Cantor Stein, and having her get to know us was a treat. She not only helped us on this journey to get married with all the details of planning the ceremony, but helped us grow as a couple as well. She brought the biggest smiles, laughs, and such joy to our wedding ceremony. It's been 2 weeks since our wedding and everyone cannot stop saying how much they enjoyed our ceremony. We can't wait to work with Cantor Stein again. We are so grateful to have found a wonderful person to marry us, and also a lifelong friend.
Cantor Stein is absolutely the BEST! When neither of our childhood rabbis was able to perform our wedding ceremony, my husband and I were disappointed. But then we found Cantor Ste...
in and knew right away that we were in good hands. She came to our apartment and got to know us as a couple and as individuals, and it was immediately clear how much she cared. When it came to the ceremony, Cantor Stein was a pro—from the planning to the day-of, she knows exactly what she’s doing and will always make you feel at ease. But even though she’s done countless weddings and has good systems in place, she will never make you feel like your wedding is just another wedding. She makes every part of the ceremony special and personal. We are so grateful to have had Cantor Stein throughout the entire process — our wedding would not have been the same without her.
Cantor Stein is THE BEST. Planning a destination wedding in another country (Cartagena, Colombia) is never easy, and finding an officiant can be even harder.

h us every step of the way , and provided a guiding hand for some of the more difficult pieces of planning a wedding.
My partner and I come from very different backgrounds culturally and where religion is concerned, and Cantor Stein was able to help us find a happy medium incorporating many Jewish traditions with some new and mixed non religious ideas.
Cantor Stein also provided Spanish translation for the most important parts of the ceremony for many of those in attendance to be included on our special day.
We opted for the premarital counseling sessions and they proved quite fruitful. It really helped us dive into our relationship with our families and religion in our upbringing to make sure we were on the same page not only for the wedding day, but all the days that come after.
Overall we would 1000000% recommend Cantor Stein for any and all weddings and for all your friends and family as well'
Finding the right officiant for your wedding is crucial. Looking back on my wedding day now, I am so thankful Cantor Stein had my date open. She supports all backgrounds, (my husba...
nd is half Jewish) which can be difficult to find.
Cantor Stein included sessions to get to know us as a couple and what we wanted from the ceremony. This was helpful for us to cultivate the perfect ceremony and to feel more comfortable. It got us talking as a couple about what we wanted (how religious, what traditions, length, vows, etc). The Cantor even provided us with places to get our Ketubah and proofread it prior to ordering to ensure all was correct for the big day. She always made herself available for questions.
She personalized the ceremony and made us feel incredibly comfortable standing and speaking in front of so many people. She has a beautiful singing voice and energy. The ceremony was crafted perfectly to us!
I got so many compliments post wedding about the ceremony and the Cantor.
Can't recommend her enough! I treasure the video my friend took of our ceremony. I didn't have a videographer, so it was an added bonus and treasure to be able to rewatch!
We absolutely loved working with Cantor Stein. She totally got us and was instrumental in helping us shape our wedding ceremony. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her and reall...
y appreciated her intelligence, warmth and sense of humor. We recommend getting her full 3 session package - well worth it. She helped with every aspect from the katubah to the vows. Everything ran like clockwork and was exactly how we wanted it to be. Look no further, she is the best!
Working with Cantor Laura was the BEST decision we could have made!!!! She took the time to make our ceremony so personal and added in elements of Judaism that I wanted but left ou...
t what we didn’t (my husband isn’t Jewish) we still have friends (Jewish and non Jewish) come up to us to tell us what a beautiful ceremony it was. I wouldn’t change one thing about it and I really thank Laura for being able to put our dream of our ceremony into real life.
Cantor Stein was incredible. As an Asian American woman who grew up Christian with little exposure to Jewish weddings, Cantor Stein made the process seamless and handled it with gr...
ace. We had an interfaith ceremony and Cantor Stein was very respectful to my pastor and blessed us with a beautiful ceremony. She was very gracious explaining Jewish traditions to me so we could decide which elements we wanted to incorporate into the wedding. She also did an excellent job making our guests feel comfortable as well, explaining the traditions as she helped us perform them. I cannot recommend Cantor Stein enough, she brought us closer and blessed us with a sweet and memorable ceremony.
