Bud Johnson Photography

of the camera, and it truly shows in every photo. Every moment from the smallest candid smiles to the big emotional moments was captured beautifully and naturally. Their professionalism, creativity, and genuine kindness made our wedding day even more special. The photos are stunning: timeless, vibrant, and full of emotion. If you’re looking for a photographer who goes above and beyond, who will capture your day with heart, artistry, and attention to detail, Bud is the one. We’ll treasure these photos forever!

were times when he and Sarah were behind the scenes and/or would ask us to pull them over for any “cute moments” we wanted to capture. The sneak peek photos we have received are perfect! Overall 11/10 & would highly recommend hiring Bud Johnson for your next photoshoot!

onal. We used him for my daughter's Engagement photos, Welcome Party, Rehearsal dinner and Wedding. With all the compliments I received from guests about how great the whole weekend was, everyone mentioned how much they liked our photographer and how nice he was and knew how to talk to people and make them smile naturally. I would highly recommend Bud Johnson for any Event!

r ! Between the warmth, friendliness, awesome sense of humor and overall feel good vibes Bud brought the first second he entered the room and his eye for beauty and his artistic sense in creating the most beautiful and incredible moments of our ceremony and sunsets/beach photoshoot we were amazed . He is professional, skilled , talented and became part of our wedding group by blending right in, in no time . Our wedding was in Hilton Head at the Westin. Communication before the wedding with Sarah and Bud was outstanding and they were very helpful with little details reminders for us which helped enormously. You can tell they have a great experience in the field. Our little flower girl Maiya is a bit shy but he brought her right out of her shell and she posed and smiled like a pro ! Bud was so kind to send me a sneak peek with a few photos the night of the wedding as my parents were unable to come as they had some family matters in Europe, so Bud taking the time to save the day and send me some pictures for them to see was wonderful and we really really appreciated it ! He’s definitely on our list for when we return for an anniversary shoot or family reunion as we do love Savannah and Hilton Head area ! Thank you again for capturing our day with all the love and beauty we felt ❤️ Bud Johnson Photography is the best !

ncredibly professional, friendly, and attentive to our needs. He made us feel comfortable and at ease throughout the entire process. Bud's attention to detail and creative eye truly shone through in every photo. He captured the essence of our special day beautifully, with each picture telling a unique story. The turnaround time for receiving our photos was impressively fast, and the quality of the images exceeded our expectations. We are beyond thrilled with the incredible results and will cherish these memories forever. If you're looking for a talented and reliable photographer for your wedding, we highly recommend Bud Johnson. Thank you, Bud, for making our day so memorable!

shots, and can take an awkward bride and make her feel like a princess! :) He is very intentional about understanding what is important to you for the wedding and even helped us make decisions beforehand about details like the wedding exit, how and when to do a first look, and a list of other things to help prepare us for an easy and efficient itinerary for the day! Without Bud's help we would have been fighting the lighting issues at the ceremony location, but with his foresight and advise we were able to work around some of the issues and get someone in to fix the lighting and it made such a big difference! Bud and Sarah made communication very easy and provided many helpful tips with their articles and personalized questionnaires that they sent in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding so that everything was prepared beforehand! They also took the initiative for organizing our family for the family pictures which involved working out a list of the pictures we wanted and who would be in them a week before the wedding. We had already seen that Bud delivers professional quality photos, but he also adjusted on the fly when our second shooter had to call out because of the flu and he took over both roles without a second thought. Additionally, our wedding was the week before Christmas and yet he delivered ALL of our wedding pictures on Christmas Eve so that we were able to look at them with our whole family! Bud and Sarah are experienced and professional, prepared for all the worst case scenarios, and most of all they care about making your day special and capturing all of the precious moments and beautiful details in a unique way!

ld use him - I would do it again in a heartbeat. I was really picky about photographers going in but kept seeing and liking his photos on social media, magazines, etc. Our photos are a dream come true. Although that's the most important aspect of a photographer, hiring Bud went beyond just the final products. I want to highlight a couple other huge positives: - Bud (and Sarah) gave us recommendations on many different things throughout the process including our videographer (Ardsley Park, we really liked working with Zach!) and entertainment (All About You, Jamie was great!). - Sarah always responded to emails insanely fast and with great detail. - It's clear that Bud has done this a lot and everyone we spoke with in advance was excited when we mentioned that we'd have him on the big day. - I genuinely like Bud as a person and enjoyed having him around on the day-of. Very important considering how much time we spent together. - We received a sneak peak of our photos DURING OUR RECEPTION!! I've never heard of this before but it was so fun. - We received a link the next morning to our sneak peak. There are 86 (!!!!) images. We feel so spoiled compared to everyone else we know. The one (potential) con is the price, Bud is one of the most expensive photographers in the area. However, he is worth every penny and then some. I feel like we underpaid for what we were given but understand he could be out of price range for some people. I cannot recommend Bud enough and am already thinking about flying him out to NYC for big photo moments in the future. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Bud and Sarah, you went above and beyond in every single way.

placements and how he figures everything out to get the best angles and lighting and everything to look the best possible. Their service was also outstanding and always making sure we were comfortable and going above and beyond to cater to our needs to make our day super special. Bud was my favorite servicer throughout the entire wedding! I would recommend him and his wife to everyone I know.

all came out amazing and they had all our pictures to us within a week from our wedding... all 1000+! They were so sweet and kind to us - we will recommend them to anybody needing a photographer

we were going to see if Bud was available. Bud and Sarah make everything feel easy and comfortable from the very beginning. We felt so comfortable being photographed by them and we had SO MUCH FUN! we truly felt like we were with old friends. They captured every single moment. The preview photos during the wedding were so special. We are so grateful for them. The photos speak for themselves and we are so happy with the results. Not to mention the turn around time was just a few weeks. Bud and Sarah are a great team, wonderful photographers and even better people! Thank you truly for everything!!

m call was a hoot and I could tell that he would be perfect for our event. All of my vendors knew him and said nothing but positive things. At the wedding itself, he had put thought into a special request I had ahead of time, and executed my vision beautifully. The quality of the photos and the special images he captured are perfection. I couldn't be happier.

o work with. Thank you so much, Bud. Lee's Classic Adventures

de sure we had the shots we wanted and was so easy to work with! He took control and got some amazing pictures! I would highly recommend Bud and am so happy I chose him as my wedding photographer!

just made everything better and he and Caleb captured everything perfectly. Multiple people commented that they thought we had 4 photographers, as Bud and Caleb seemed to be everywhere all at once and didn't miss a moment. We could not be more impressed with how our "sneak peek" photos came out and we can't wait to see the rest. We will definitely be using Bud and his team again in the future to capture more life moments for us. We can't imagine working with anyone else!

n public made the entire experience a Blessing that we hold so dear. He’s an outside the box thinker, and that means the pictures he takes art.

bad we couldn't use most of them. Bud was a DREAM to work with. He went above and beyond to not only help us recreate our wedding day, but also got so many shots we never got. He was creative, relaxed, so much fun to work with and the photos were just phenomenal. He worked so hard that day because we ran around all over Savannah and I am eternally grateful for him and what he did for us on the re-shoot. Hire him - you will NOT regret it!

tial proposal to the final edits :) On the day of the wedding, Bud brought energy, positivity, and happiness as well as a sense of calm (which we all appreciated so much!!). He captured our special moments with so much creativity and was truly a part of making the day so fun and exciting!! Sarah was amazing to work with and was incredibly responsive. They are the dream team! We are still in awe of our photos and will cherish forever!

and professional. Bud was my center stone. He kept me calm and never made us feel rushed or like pictures were overtaking our day. Being from NY, we had a destination wedding in Savannah and I was overcome with uncertainties. Bud was the smile that lifted all of those worries away! From day one, Bud and his professional team were kind, understanding, flexible, and above all talented. I cannot speak enough about how wonderful this man is and how good he is at his craft. Thank you Bud for making our day, the best day ever!

ng our photos, we knew we HAD to hire him for our May 2022 wedding. He delivered our engagement gallery really quickly and when they arrived, we were BLOWN away!!! Every single photo was breathtaking! His wife Sarah is a doll and the sweetest! Even as stressful as wedding planning can get, I never once worried that our wedding day photos wouldn't come out spectacular, and Bud did not let us down! We had a morning wedding in Isle of Palms and he arrived well ahead of time. He captured every single second of the day perfectly. All of our wedding guests LOVED him too! The day goes so quickly but Bud captured moments I would have forgotten & even ones I didn't realize happened!! He made an amazing day even better!

ng. Bud is such a great hype man and so accommodating while taking photos. I sent him a 20 page document of photo inspo and he illustrated all of it perfectly! My husband and I agree that we would come to the Hilton head area again just to take photos to have him as our photographer. The entire wedding kept complimenting how awesome he was and his photos turned out amazing! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer!

or his photos are unmatched. If you’re looking for a photographer, look no further! If we could give him 10 stars, we would! My husband is not one to want to take photos and even commented to me how painless it was and that he had fun. Bud and Sarah- we will never be able to thank you enough for capturing our wedding day and giving us memories to last a lifetime! You made us feel like family!

professional, but friendly, warm, and brought an energy that lights up a room. I am not especially photogenic and was anxious that I would look awkward and end up with wedding photographs that did not capture the joy of the event or how beautiful I felt that day. Bud immediately squashed those fears!! He prompted and guided my husband and I during the photos in a way that made us look natural and Bud did the rest! The result was nothing short of spectacular. Bud’s wife, Sarah, was quick to respond to our emails and the process of booking and paying was quick and straightforward. If we could rate Bud Johnson Photography with more than 5 stars we would! If you’re looking for a friendly, talented photographer that’s going to capture your wedding day in the most fun loving light hearted way Bud is the only way to go!

ient personality, Bud hit all of the buckets we were looking for. Prior to booking, we met virtually with over 10 top Savannah photographers to describe our needs/wants (minimal, we were only looking for ~4 hours of photography - closer to an elopement package. We used The Knot/Wedding Wire/online reviews to find vendors). We are a "destination" couple and it was difficult to not be able to meet with vendors in-person; we were iffy from our conversations up until we met Bud. Overall, we definitely meshed with Bud the most and he was more than willing to accommodate our interests. On the day of, Bud blew us away. He has a wonderful personality (is definitely willing to laugh with us!) and always made us feel comfortable throughout the day. Our family and friends were so impressed with Bud that they wanted pictures with HIM! We received our photos in a timely manner that was designated in the contract and they're more than I could have hoped for. 10/10 recommend Bud to anyone in the area. Big shoutout to his wife, Sarah, as well who manages all communication prior to the date. She made the process seamless! Dream team.

photos we could before it was opened back up to the public) and was able to adapt when a thunderstorm came through right when we were planning to take photos in the park. His prices are excellent and the product he delivers is superb! You'd think after getting through the wedding weekend (finally!) that I'd want to take a break and not worry about writing any reviews, but I was so pleased with Bud's work this weekend that I wanted to get this out there today in case anyone is looking for a photographer at this second! Bud was a pleasure to work with. He was friendly, organized, creative, and able to adapt. We were working with a few restrictions that may now affect you, but I wanted to share how happy I was with my experience. First, we were married in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. There are hard deadlines on when they'll open the doors back up to the public after your wedding, so I was initially concerned we wouldn't be able to get all of our photos before the crowds started wandering into every shot. We gave Bud a wishlist of photos we hoped to get, and Bud got every one and then some. He didn't rush at all. He took time on each photo, but he was so well organized that we maximized our window. The second external hiccup was a thunderstorm that popped up just as the wedding ended. We were hoping to get wedding party shots inside them move outside to get shots with extended family/friends because of the limited time allowed in the Cathedral. Bud was able to get every outside shot we wanted inside the beautiful Cathedral. Bud's work is phenomenal! I mentioned to my wife on our ride home that, "I don't know how to say this so it doesn't sound conceited, but I looked really good in those photos!" I had to explain that I knew she would be beautiful, but I just expected I'd kinda just be there. Bud really knows how to get the most out of every shot! There were tons of shots of the wedding of course, from all angles. We missed some of our shots in the park next door due to the storm, but we were able to take our shuttle around to a few spots in Savannah that Bud recommended. I can't describe how beautiful those settings looked and how GOOD we looked in them! Bud is super creative, and was able to invent shots on the fly. In a classic example of turning lemons into lemonade, Bud took a shot of my wife and I in the reflection of a puddle on the side of the street that might be one of my favorites! Now you may be asking yourself "how does this guy know that the photos will be any good...they just took them Saturday?" That's a reasonable question, because Bud was snapping photos from early Saturday morning straight through to the final exit at 9pm...when would he have time to show us photos? He provided a photo slide show DURING THE RECEPTION while still taking photos! And I don't mean that he just flipped through the shots on his camera to show us a few, he had a full slide show! I honestly don't know how he did it all - he has to have an invisible clone or something. And since that *must* be the case, then you're absolutely getting a steal by only having to pay one of the Buds!

w our personalities as well. Bud has a such an amazing quality of making you feel comfortable in front of the camera. We had so much fun and it was the perfect way to spend our anniversary!

et a quick and helpful response. I felt the same way on our wedding day. Bud was there for everything and very attentive to our needs that day. My husband isn’t particularly fond of taking pictures for extended periods of time, but he and his groomsmen had a blast taking their pictures with Bud. All of our guest loved him too. Several of our friends even said they were going to reach out to him about hiring him for their own events. We can’t express enough how much we loved working with Bud. Bud is so talented and captured it all—beautiful bride and groom pictures, large family photos, fun cigar pictures, and wild dance party pictures. You can tell Bud has a passion for what he does. We would highly recommend hiring Bud for your special event! He is talented, responsive, reliable, and so much fun! Thank you, Bud and Sarah!

t at ease knowing we chose the perfect photographer. With each photo on our wedding day, Bud was making everyone in our party laugh, smile, and feel comfortable. He complimented me all day long. Our photos are absolutely stunning. We recommend Bud for all your wedding photography needs!

nds with everyone he meets. His talent stands for itself, unmatched in the wedding photography business, We would give 10 stars if we could!

he family dynamic and which pictures we must have. The day was already stressful due to the rain, but Bud never stopped smiling and boy was it contagious! I have heard from everyone at our wedding, how much they loved Bud and his dedication to getting pictures that will last us a lifetime. He truly felt like a part of the family and was the perfect choice. Not to mention, his photos are INCREDIBLE! Bud is someone that makes you feel at home even while your being photographed by someone you don't even know. From the moment he arrived at our wedding, Bud felt like an old friend. He was never in the way of our crazy day, but instead kept us calm and on track. He went above and beyond to take pictures of us in the pouring rain and didn't stop until we said we were done. This is the only photographer I ever will hire. He is AMAZING! You will not regret picking Bud for any photos you need. Thank you Bud!"

to having sneak peeks during the reception, he really made us feel cared for and truly gave us the confidence we needed on a crazy day, to know everything would work out with Bud at the helm. We truly appreciated him working with us and our crazy families to help make everyone happy - all with a smile on his face! He has such a gift! Bud made everything so perfect and rolled with the punches on a rainy wedding day. Thank you x a million!"

visit the city was the weekend of our wedding so it had to be right the first time. Bud was fantastic! He really spent the time and effort to get to know us despite the long-distance and that came through in the photos, which were gorgeous, unique and capture the emotion and happiness of our special day. He was flexible and accommodating despite the venue change one hour before the ceremony when our outdoor wedding got rained out. Bud was fun, professional, creative, and a pleasure to work with! He really made the day special, and we couldn’t be happier with our beautiful photos!

hotographer - no point of comparison needed. The popular quote around our house after the wedding was "Bud Johnson - wedding photographer; friend to all." Beyond that, he is SO talented. Rain was in the forecast so we made a very last minute decision to rent a tent, which turned out to be a terrible idea because the rain held out for the ceremony and our ceremony was dark. BUT Bud managed to capture beautiful, bright photos even in the dark tent. He was also great about finding creative, dry locations for our formals and couple photos when the rain hit after the ceremony. Bud was there shooting all night long. It seemed like he didn't miss a beat. We know this because we have an endless supply of incredible photos of our friends and family on the dance floor. He captured such great, candid, fun moments. In fact, the photo we chose for our thank you cards (and which is our very favorite photo) is a candid. Bud and Sarah were beyond accommodating and flexible to meet our wants and our budget. We loved all of our wedding vendors but we loved Bud Johnson the best! TIP: If you're getting married in Savannah and want amazing getting ready photos of the guys, have the groom and groomsmen get shaves and cuts at Bell Barber Co.!

ud and Sarah make one amazing team to work with! Bud brought a fun spark to our engagement shoot and wedding (guests loved him!) that made all of the experiences even more fun. They take the time to plan ahead with you, have the patience of saints, and create photos and memories that will last a lifetime.

er. Well we received GREAT and not good!!! They were worth EVERY dollar, my family is very large and they like to joke and not take serious photos and that was my biggest fear. Bud let them get the sillys out and then snapped some of our best family portraits! He listed to all the details we wanted to capture and is still the talk of the wedding. He put together a small slide show while we were eating dinner to see what he had gotten so far. He made sure to backup the photos several times throughout the wedding to make sure nothing was lost or deleted! His second photographer he brought in was absolutely amazing as well. We were able to get photos of the groomsmen getting ready as well as the ladies who were getting ready at 2 separate locations. If you are hesitant to book Bud Johnson I promise you will NOT regret it one bit!!!

nce at marriage with an 8 year old in tow. I didn’t even bat an eye at selecting our photographer for the ceremony and reception. It was Bud all along. We literally planned our wedding date around his availability. (And ours was quick we got engaged and married within 3.5 months.) His eye for catching the candid and the most artistic shots is bar none. This husband and wife team are the real deal they truly make everything super easy and seamless to prepare for the big day. We have zero regrets on our selection.

very responsive and will make sure your photos match the magic of your love story!

lly. Bud and his wife Sarah were instrumental in helping us choose other vendors, our venue, work through a timeline, and get a plan together for our wedding day. He was constantly available via text and email, and answered countless questions from us. On the day of the wedding, he spent the entire day with us. He was professional and funny, knowing both how to be loud and corral people to get family photos, and also how to fade into the background and get the best candid moments. He was up for any location or ideas we had for photos and had a bunch of great ideas for how to get couples portraits after our ceremony. During dinner, Bud edited about 20 of our photos, and set them up at the reception to be displayed for our guests, meaning we had great photos as soon as the wedding was over. Bud's photos are unique, and he has a great eye for color and light. We've already had several engaged couples who attended our wedding ask for Bud's contact information to book him for their wedding. We will be recommending Bud to anyone who is getting married in Savannah!

ing photos are incredible and we couldn't be happier to relive the memories of our special day through these photos. Thank you again Bud and Sarah.

dding day with your photographer, trust me you want Bud to be that person. Bud does a great job of making you feel comfortable and is not overbearing with pictures. He was also timely about getting our pictures back to us. We are very pleased with how our pictures turned out!

ery photo was of incredible quality and he has a way of capturing the truly best moments of the day. We used Bud for our small elopement wedding with only immediate family and will also be using him for our big wedding celebration in November. Photography is definitely an investment, but Bud makes the entire process easy and enjoyable. He is extremely responsive and available, as well as having a fun and exciting social media presence! He schedules phone calls with you prior to booking and again prior to the wedding to make sure everything will be just the way you want it. He also uses very easy payment and contract services. You can just tell Bud and his family are wonderful people, and their energy and passion for what they do flows right into their business. I would highly recommend booking with Bud if you're looking for a reliable and personalized experience.

ntire wedding day with them. Bud checked all of the boxes. He is so talented and so much fun to work with. I highly reccomend doing the engagement photos as well. Although we are a couple that doesn't particularly enjoy taking pictures, Bud made it fun! We laughed the whole time and most importantly got amazing pictures! He also shared a few pictures with us during the reception and then set up a slide show for the guests to see. Everyone LOVED it. I got so many comments and texts from guests raving about how amazing our photographer was and that they loved the slide show. Bud is professional, extremely hard working, and in my opinion the best wedding photographer around! Five stars all the way!!

ble during the shoot and really allowed us to be ourselves. It was so fun and he is genuinely such a nice person! He and his wife, Sarah are great at communicating too. You won't have to wait days or weeks for a response. I am in love with our engagement pics and cannot wait to spend our wedding day with Bud. I have no doubt we hired the very best.

reated us like family. The photos are priceless and fill our home with love and joy. We were so lucky to meet them and feel like we have gained friends for life! If they’re available for your day I highly recommend booking them. You won’t regret it!

that initial meeting, I knew I had nothing to stress about. He showed up early the day of the wedding and immediately put me at ease. He is so talented and easy to work with, no stress! All of my wedding party kept coming up to me saying how great he was. He even put together a "sneak peak" DURING the wedding that I was able to see. Absolutely amazing, highly recommend!!

g for timeless photos with an artistic edge, Bud is your guy!
