Buckboard catered our wedding at the Japanese Friendship Garden on July 25th, 2026. From the beginning, Raquel was communicative, organized, and an all-around delight to work with....
We had a wonderful time chatting with her during our tasting at the restaurant. Most importantly, the food on the big day was absolutely delicious. We did the taco bar, and it was as good as any of our favorite Mexican spots around San Diego. We also really appreciated Raquel's ability to accommodate our guests' dietary restrictions. Overall, we had a phenomenal experience with Buckboard and could not recommend them more highly.

requests. The food was delicious and got a lot of compliments. My partner and I, as well as our guests, felt well taken care of by the staff. Thank you Buckboard for a memorable dinner!

oing through the options, hosting the tasting and holding my hand through the process. I had people coming up to me all night telling me how great the food was. They had great communicating with us throughout the process and even with our guests all night. They personally spoke to each guest with allergies and informed them of the best options to accommodate them. They even went out of their way to buy a new salad dressing for a guest with allergies during the event and gave her her own personal bottle to keep at her table. My coordination team was going to take care of cake cutting and our nacho bar but the Buckboard team insisted on taking it off of their hands and took a huge load off of their plates. I got great feedback from everyone about the friendly bartenders and their flexibility with signature drinks and the other options!! I highly recommend you hire them for your next event!
Thank you Buckboard for making our day that much more special!!!
So many things to say! First of all, Ashley is amazing. From our first tasting to our big day, Ashley was super accommodating and kind. She knew some of our guests were gluten free...
and made sure we knew what dishes were safe. She also made sure my mom received an onion free meal (we just found out she is allergic). She made sure me and my groom were fed and had drinks. She even held a napkin over my dress as I ate an hors d’oeuvre. We did the grazing table (gorgeous!), tray passes hor d’oeurves, buffet and a late night bite. It was reasonably priced for how much we received. She even boxed some up for us to take back to our hotel. The staff was all very kind and made sure everyone was well taken care of. I would rate this a 10 if I could!
We could not have been happier with the service we received from Buckboard as the catering provider for our wedding. Right from the initial meeting Ashley, (Buckboard’s sales manag...
er) gave us a personalized introduction and very friendly tasting. It was clear from this initial interaction that she cared more about our experience and less about just becoming one of their customers.
The food was/is absolutely delicious. Every single item was cooked perfectly, and it was clear from the initial tasting that their chefs and cooks take genuine pride in cooking high quality meals that do not come off as “mass produced” like a number of other caterers in the area. We have lost count of the number of guests who told us during and after the meal that it was by far the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding, and this is reflective of the company as a whole.
Ashley and JP (the Chief Operating Officer) were both present during the planning process, and worked with us directly to determine a menu that would be both wonderful for the guests as well as within our budget. When dietary restrictions were presented, Ashley and her team made the accommodations easy and care free, and provided options that were also delicious. She and her staff were so friendly and professional on the day-of that a number of guests went out of their way to comment on the crew.
We cannot rave enough about the services we received from Buckboard Catering. To make matters better they also operate a full-time restaurant in El Cajon, which we plan on frequenting regularly when visiting San Diego. For prospective couples planning a wedding, choosing Buckboard as your caterer will not only put your mind at ease knowing the quality of service you will be receiving, but you and your guests will be absolutely thrilled with the meal you get to enjoy.
We cannot say enough what an excellent job the team at Buckboard did. We visited their catering at the recommendation of our venue, tried their food and immediately fell in love. T...
hey worked with our unique vision (we wanted something on the more casual side, so we got sliders!) and made it perfect for our event. When we were trying food, we happened to mention that we were still looking for rentals, and they let us know that they could take care of all of our rental needs. At the end of the day, we can’t say enough how happy we were with Buckboard’s work!

ril 2018. Our guests RAVED and RAVED about the food - it's now 3 months after our wedding and our guests are still talking about how delicious the food was! Our event manager was Crystal, and she and her team (including the bartender!) totally understood our vibe and the mood we wanted to present on our wedding day. Everything from the food, table presentations, market lighting, staff and suggestions on how to lay out the setting was perfect. Crystal made sure everything flowed smoothly, and was so awesome in everything she did. We are so thankful for her help and guidance throughout the planning of the wedding to the execution on our wedding day. We highly recommend Buckboard and Crystal for any event. Thanks again for everything Crystal and Buckboard!
These guys are fantastic!
Great food, great price. They did all our rentals (tables/chairs/linens) too which made everything super easy. Had we not already booked a bartender, we ...
would have used them as well.
They were on time, super professional and always had things covered and Crystal is a dream to work with.
Highly recommended!
I cannot say enough great things about this amazing company! Crystal and the rest of the team are so friendly and down to Earth, while remaining to stay professional! I absolutely ...
loved working with them and would recommend them to everyone. They are very affordable, with great quality food. My guests kept telling me how delicious the food was! They even designed a vegan entree for me and my veg friends/family that was so good! They also did our tables, chairs, linens, flatware, market lighting, and bartending! Definitely use Buckboard catering for your wedding and other events, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

cious drinks. They went about and beyond to make sure everything went perfect! We are so thankful and would never hesitate to use them for any future events. We highly recommend them!!
We worked with Buckboard for our wedding last week and our guests were raving about the food! They especially loved the pulled pork. But it was the Chipotle Churrasco Steak Kabob t...
hat settled it. Fadi was amazing. He went beyond his catering duties. They also provide the tables and chairs and helped moved the chairs from ceremony to reception. They also recommended by wedding coordinator, Bree and Paige from I Love You More Events, one of the best advice I was given. If you want delicious food and a smooth wedding, hire Buckboard Catering!
Veronica and the team were awesome! They were so pleasant and people raved over the food.
Highly recommend!
Bill is an absolute pleasure to work with. He is very responsive via email and phone. He made it very clear that he would handle any tough issues that came up so we would not have ...
to stress over them. Bill never hesitated to jump in and help out, even if the task may have been outside his scope of services. He approached our event as if it was being held for his own friends and family. We really appreciated his responsiveness and attention to detail. Not to mention the food was DELICIOUS. Many of our guests commented on how good the food was. Bill provided catering services for our wedding, but I would recommend him for any major event. He is simply the best!
Shaun was truly one of the best decisions that we made when planning our wedding! I loved his personality from the first time we met and loved working with him throughout the entir...
e process. Shaun was incredibly communicative, professional (but also has the feeling of an old friend), extremely reasonably priced, and has an obvious passion for what he does. The day of the wedding was equally as fantastic. Shaun worked his magic while being as minimally disruptive to the event as possible.
And onto the important part... the photos turned out just beautifully! Better than I had imagined they would. Shaun has a very unique eye that I just love. I'm not one for a bunch of posed photos and I really appreciated Shaun's ability to capture emotions through a very unique perspective. His use of natural light and sharp contract is also amazing. I'm sure you can see all of this from his website... but bottom line is that I would absolutely positively recommend Shaun to anyone, bride or otherwise, looking for a photographer. Thanks Shaun!
Best experience ever!!!! Buckboard just did my wedding last weekend and it was truly spectacular!!! We met with Bill last fall for a tasting and the food was delicious! We booked...
on the spot without trying any other caterers and it was the best decision! The prices were reasonable and they do all the rentals as well. Bill is available 24/7 and he really knows what he is doing. One thing I really appreciated is that Bill helped me to spend money where it counts and keep things in our budget. We did plastic cups for the cocktail hour even though it was a nice wedding and NOONE noticed, it worked perfectly and we didn't have to rent all the glassware. The week of the wedding Bill was super organized and kept me in the loop with everything going on. When my wedding day finally came everything was absolutely PERFECT!!!! His staff was spectacular and went above and beyond the call of duty. I got married at the Flower Fields and there were tourists standing right behind our ceremony and his staff hopped a fence to help clear out the tourists (clearly not in the catering description!) After the ceremony my HUSBAND and I were going to go in a golfcart to take pictures and the golfcart was covered in dirt- I was looking at it and looking at my white dress and one of the staff saw and came running over with an extra linen so that my dress wouldn't get dirty. There were so many other little things that just made my day extra special. I honestly can't thank Bill and the staff at Buckboard Catering enough for making my wedding day absolutely perfect!!! Oh and all the guests were raving about how great the food was on the wedding day. My husband asked me what my favorite food was at the event and I think I listed everything we ate!!!
Fadi and his crew at Buckboard Catering were so great to work with! The food came out better than I could have imagined. The grilled chicken and tri-tip were absolutely delicious, ...
moist and flavorful. And GOOD GOD, Lobster and Crab Macroni & Cheese was to die for. I had so many guests come up and thank me for hiring such a great caterer cause they've been to weddings with terrible food before and this was outstanding. Everyone loved it, even my vegan and vegetarian friends who they made special dishes for.
