l for the whole company it was hard to go back and forth about feedback and felt like instead of problem solving I was getting explanations for why my trial was why it was. I think it would have been helpful for me to meet the stylists before picking them for the day, just looking at their portfolios doesn’t always mean it’s going to be a good fit. I thought it really helped that Sarah did my make up for my shower so we could actually talk through what I wanted.

h. They kept the energy 100% fun and positive from my trial to the day of. They are all so sweet and totally completed the more natural glam look I was going for. I'll never forget the amazing vibes the morning of getting ready with my closest friends and family, and they were a huge part of that! Also thank you to Gabrielle for all of her help with scheduling and accommodating a more last-minute add-on request. It made the process as easy as possible!

starting with my hairstylist calling out the morning of my trial appointment. When I arrived at the salon, they were not prepared for me at all. They sent my hair and makeup survey only 10 minutes before the appointment and failed to plan for the trial with the extensions I had added to my package. To make matters worse, they didn’t have extensions that matched my red-blend hair color, adding another thing for me to worry about. I addressed these issues with the owner, Katie, and I will say she was incredibly apologetic and understanding. She genuinely tried to resolve every issue I brought up, which I appreciated. However, as someone in the midst of wedding planning, the situation added unnecessary stress that could have been avoided with better communication. While the call-out wasn’t her fault, it did make me worry about the possibility of something similar happening on the morning of my wedding. The night before the wedding, while reviewing the schedule with my bridesmaids, we noticed that I was only scheduled for 15 minutes for hair on the wedding day. This was another huge source of panic for me. On the day of the wedding, the makeup artist, Sopeary, was phenomenal. Both during my trial and on the wedding day, she was professional, sweet, and truly so skilled. She listened to what every bridesmaid and mom wanted and made us all feel beautiful. I can’t recommend her enough. The hairstylist, Bryanna, was a different story. She made several members of my bridal party uncomfortable with negative comments about their hair. In particular my mother-in-law was brought to tears after Bryanna repeatedly commented on her “damaged hair”. When it came to my own hair, she was dismissive when I asked for adjustments, saying she couldn’t fix things because “there wasn’t any hair there to fix.” She also repeatedly mentioned that I had thin hair, which gave me a complex I didn’t have before. When I tried to explain that my hair is fine, not thinning, she doubled down, comparing my hair to my mom’s and sister’s, saying, “Your hair is just thin.” Honestly don’t understand how she thought those comments were productive at all. Especially saying then to the bride who’s big day it is. Additionally, she arrived with extensions that did end up matching my hair but still claimed I had sent the “wrong color blend” to Katie. I showed her proof that I had provided the correct information, making it clear the miscommunication was on their end. Regardless, it was unprofessional and unnecessary to place blame on the bride on the morning of her wedding. Overall, while I appreciated Katie’s efforts to address my concerns and Sopeary’s incredible work, the entire experience was unnecessarily stressful. Bryanna’s behavior, in particular, left a lasting negative impression, and the way she treated my bridal party in particular my mother in law and me was unacceptable.

Amy (makeup), Milian (hair) and Brenda (hair/makeup) were so kind and professional while doing hair/makeup for myself, my mother, my two grandmothers, my mother-in-law, and my two maids-of-honor. They kept us on schedule, but were flexible when someone was running behind or needed to take a break. Their energy was fun, warm, and relaxing, which helped to really set the tone for the day. Everyone was saying how the morning of the wedding felt almost like a spa experience – it was that relaxing! We all looked beautiful, seriously. And we all felt like *ourselves*, which was a top priority for us. I remarked to my husband that I felt the most beautiful I have ever felt in my life on my wedding day – and I don't know if I'll ever feel more gorgeous! So much of that is attributed to the hair and makeup services I received from BBBB. I felt so confident heading into our wedding day. Not once did I feel preoccupied about my appearance, because the artists crushed it. Thank you BBBB crew for making such a special, cherished day all the more magical.

I had not had a hair cut in a very long time but I absolutely trusted her and my hair felt so healthy! On the wedding day, Kayla was again so great to work with and she made me and my bridesmaids feel so beautiful! I changed up my wedding hair vision a few days before and Kayla and Blush and Braids Beauty Bar were able to accommodate and communicate to each other about those changes. My wedding hair was so incredible and I got emotional when it was completed when I looked in the mirror. That was such a special moment for me because I truly felt like the most beautiful bride. I can’t thank Kayla enough for that moment and being such a genuine person. She truly cares about her clients and puts in that effort but somehow makes it look effortless! little tweaks based on my trial feedback that ended up perfect. My hair stayed in all night long and my makeup was exactly what I was looking for. As someone who doesn't wear a lot of makeup, I wanted a look that still looked like me but also looked great for photos - Jenna nailed it. Jenna in particular was great with the Mother of the Bride make up as well. She went above and beyond to make sure all our looks were perfect before we headed out. Brenda and Macy also did HMU services for my bridal party and everyone loved their looks. Highly recommend BBBB for your Chicago wedding HMU!

They helped with all of the touch up’s and even gave me a bag for the day of my wedding encase I needed extra hairspray, hair ties, or clips. I would 100% recommend them and use them if you are getting married.

A and hair stylist were very nice and good at their craft (I had Giselle and Fitemah). They interacted well with my bridal party, and made everyone look so beautiful! I rented extensions and used false lashes for the first time and it was a success! Giselle was very real with what is possible/realistic and she did her best on taking in my feedback from the trial. Just to add one point of criticism because I think that is what makes a good review- they charge for transportation fee, but one of my artists came from 4 mins away. Not sure that this was necessary, but was built into the contract. Honestly BBBB were my most easy to work with vendors, with perfect results day-of AND more reasonable pricing than others out there. I would definitely recommend to a friend!

in reviews. The styles I saw were perfectly in line with the looks I wanted. They had very clear pricing that was easily accessible, which I also appreciated when trying to figure out what vendor I was going to book. I do have to say, after I booked them, occasionally by email they were slow to respond, but I was able to reach them by phone and after that, particularly during the crunch time of the wedding, they were very on top of things. On the day of, we actually finished our services earlier than the schedule! So I had an extra hour to prep things for the wedding, which was really helpful. (Though when chatting with them, it sounded like part of the reason why was because we ourselves were on time and didn't have any interfering persons present!) As the bride, I wanted a soft glam look that was fairly minimal but more glamorous and put-together than my usual self, with an updo and floral hairpieces and hairpins for myself and my bridesmaids. My makeup artist, Macy, did a perfect job! Macy was also accommodating of the skin sensitivities of me and my bridesmaids, and considerate of my concerns in regards to my makeup and hairstyle lasting that made me feel taken care of. She also was very considerate of my glasses and bangs, which made me feel better since I didn't see a lot of examples of brides with both! Heather made my bridesmaids look individual and amazing with their hairstyles! In general, it was nice talking to them during the day of, and during the makeup trial I did with Macy, as well. Overall just awesome and I'm really glad I went with them!

I immediately fell in LOVE with my hair— with a chat about wanting my natural curls to be enhanced and a couple of inspiration images, Fatemah did an incredible job. My makeup artist, Dana, was also amazing!! I was really nervous about my makeup— I mostly wear a very light look, I’ve never used fake lashes, etc. at first at the trial I felt really nervous, and the final look I wasn’t feeling 100% about— I wanted it to “look like me”. Dana was so lovely helping me adjust the look, while also explaining why some things need to be done more for the day— it’s so hot in June, the photos look better with detail, it’s SUCH a long day, etc. I left feeling gorgeous but still a little nervous. Then, on the wedding day, Dana was so amazing— when I sat down with her she pulled out a different style of fake lashes and said “I know you weren’t loving the lashes at your trial I got these just for you” and they were a lighter, less thick lash that I LOVED the look of!! I felt so cared for and grateful that she was really paying attention to what would make me feel better on my wedding day. The other artists at the wedding did great— we had two hair and two makeup artists for a total of 13 hair appointments and 9 makeup appointments. Everyone — bridesmaids, my mom, my mother-in-law, and my flower girls— had a good experience and looked amazing! They were great at staying on schedule and adjusting as necessary. We had a great time, I’d use them again!

een 9am and 1pm (nobody needing to wake up at 5am), and I wanted to wear my natural waves/curls on my wedding day. They were able to accommodate all of this by sending two stylists. On wedding day, they arrived on time to the venue and were fully ready to work with us when we arrived. Mercedes worked on my hair and makeup and both of the mom’s makeup. Mercedes had an incredibly calm and kind presence and was so supportive when she noticed me getting tense in the afternoon. She absolutely nailed my updo with natural curls falling out beautifully (even though we had done a different style at the trial), and my makeup felt like an elevated version of myself. The other stylist, Dalilah, did an excellent job on my mom’s curly/wavy hair and two of the bridesmaids with straight hair. However, she was not prepared to work with my bridesmaid with coiled hair and did not appropriately listen to instructions from Mercedes or the bridesmaid about how to accomplish a basic style on her hair. This did leave my bridesmaid feeling bad about her hair texture, and Mercedes ultimately took over to help recover the situation. I did inform the owner, Katie, afterwards. She appeared to take the feedback very seriously and communicated it to the stylists as well. She also stated that all of the stylists will now “take minimum of a full day training focusing on curls in order to continue to be scheduled on bookings.” I’m hopeful that they will improve so all the stylists can work well with all textures of hair, but for now, I would recommend being sure to emphasize if you need stylists with curly expertise (not just for the bride, but for others in your party as well). on photos and fully understanding your vision. Then, the trial went amazing. I was very comfortable and the artists were truly interested in making your dream come to life. They constantly asked for your approval, if you would like anything changed, or if there was anything else you would like to try all while offering amazing advice given the high level of knowledge and expertise held by all stylists. On the day of the wedding, the artist were all incredibly timely. I had 7 bridesmaids, two mothers, and myself that needed hair and makeup done. Milian, Brenda, and Jenna were INCREDIBLE! They fit in with our group so well, had amazing personalities, and their talent was IMPRESSIVE! All of my girls were thrilled with the final product and I have never felt more confident in my life. The wide range of styles accomplished was amazing and appreciated. My mom does not typically wear much makeup, so she was very nervous, but Brenda accomplished the perfect, natural look she was looking for. Lastly, my hair and makeup lasted ALL DAY despite the hours spent sweating on the dance floor :). A huge thank you to Blush Braids!

The planning process was very smooth and they were very understanding when I had one person drop out of receiving services the week of. I do wish my makeup lasted a little longer into the night however. I found that my curls had gotten a little frizzy and knotty by the end of the night as well. It was rainy that day, and there's all the dancing, so I know a lot of that can't be helped! When I look back as well, I wish we only had two artists on my wedding day. Originally I had booked three, but the third had a last minute emergency and an assistant came instead. Since the assistant was only working with Sarah and not on her own, I wonder if we should've just had two artists just to save some money. I do still recommend Blush and Braids though -- they did great work!

- to me, this showed that the company was proud of their individual artists and I appreciated being able to learn about them in advance. I worked with Heather for hair and Brenda for makeup. They were both very kind, professional, and efficient. Every interaction with them, from the initial HMU trial to the wedding day, was wonderful. They took their time to listen to what I was hoping for and made specific recommendations based on my skin and hair. On the day of the wedding, they did a fantastic job on a wide variety of hair and skin textures - ranging from 20-somethings to my 80yo grandmother.

. I decided to change stylists after my first trial and they were so kind to accommodate. I am not a daily makeup wearer and wanted something simple - Natasha pulled it off beautifully with the airbrushing and my makeup lasted all night! A little Washington drizzle couldn’t be helped, and I still loved the final look for my hair.

ay off went even better, couldn’t of asked for a better team! Note -I went with blush and braids because of a health condition that has severely thinned my hair. I purchased my extensions which was 100% the right choice for me. This allowed my stylist to cut the extensions the appropriate length for the look I wanted. Highly recommend!
