Big Fun Entertainment & Brass Band

a few minutes) and they said we will go on with the show for whatever the future bride and groom want to do - the soon to be bride said "f it lets do this!"  and the guys did just that - 7 blocks down Bourbon in the rain and 150 people followed and we all got a little soaked and had the time of their lives all the way down to Lafitte's - they are the living example of the "show must go on " no matter what - rain or shine these gents rocked it with all that jazz!

th on coordinating routes, payment, permits, etc, and the band was SO good! We were on a budget and splurged a tad here and it was the best decision we made as it made our day extra special & so fun!

for the rest of the night. It was truly one of those unforgettable moments that made our day feel uniquely New Orleans. The band was incredibly professional from start to finish. Communication was excellent, and they made everything so easy by handling all of the paperwork and city permits for us. That allowed us to simply relax and have fun, knowing everything was taken care of. If you are planning a wedding in New Orleans, hiring Big Fun is a must. They will turn your celebration into an experience your guests will never forget.

have provided a more exciting and enjoyable experience. The ceremony was beautiful, and the music was such a big part of that. I would absolutely recommend Big Fun Brass Band to anyone looking for a second line band in New Orleans

wedding. Any problem I was trying to solve concerning ceremony music, second lines, and eight piece bands, she took care of with utter perfection. They are completely transparent with pricing and expectations, and then went above and beyond to make our day unbelievable. Even the little things you don’t think of from parade permits to a microphone for the officiant, Abby was on it! All we had to do was explain that we were millennials, and the eight piece band took that and ran with a perfect set list! It was nothing short of magic! They are worth every penny and I hope to work with them again in the future. Thank you for everything!

tly, and had a lot of patience with coordination issues and waiting for elderly family members. our second line was a huge highlight of our wedding, especially for our out of town guests! would highly recommend big fun brass band!

t. The response I got from Abby was prompt, detailed, and honest and made my wife and me want to hire her immediately. She said that she is the one that does the DJing but had been focusing on promoting the second line bands so hadn't had time to get anything up yet. If that's still the case, let me be the first to give Big Fun's DJ services a "10 out of 10 would absolutely recommend hiring" review! Communication during the hiring process was quick and once that was out of the way all we had to do was wait for our date to get closer. Then Abby sent us a questionnaire about the music we would like and other details she should know about and that was that! She provided a mic and amplification for our service, acted as our MC, and when it was time to start dancing she kept the floor packed the entire night. Once she finished the Big Fun second line band took over and our guests still haven't stopped talking about them! It was the highlight for so many people and the perfect way to end our perfect wedding. My wife has a lot of family in New Orleans but we don't live there so having Big Fun be such a big part of our day really made our wedding feel authentic and like a New Orleans wedding should. I don't have a single negative thing to say about working with them. If you're looking for a DJ, second line band, or both, you've got to go with them. They'll give you a reception you and your guests will never forget!

d!

our wedding day perfect. The Band absolutely blew the rafters off our wedding. From the beautiful ceremony piano set, the non-stop energy they brought to our reception, and the funkiest second line I think New Orleans has ever had, we could not have asked for a better experience. Our guests danced all night and have not stopped talking about how much fun they had at our wedding. Even our traditionally grumpy uncles busted a move! In short, STOP LOOKING AND HIRE THE BIG FUN BRASS BAND NOW!

commend them for your entertainment.

--and they delivered a lively and engaging performance! I also found their planning process very user-friendly. I didn't know much about New Orleans or how 2ndline parades work. They were very responsive and flexible, and they walked me through the whole process. They handled the police permitting, as well. I strongly recommend Big Fun Brass Band!

of our wedding walking down the street, and we felt famous! Definitely recommend hiring this second line band. They are very professional and can even handle the permit process for you.

so much fun. The band was so fantastic that I wish I had booked them for more than just the second line. The second best part was that I didn’t have to lift a finger to plan any of it! Thank you so much for the celebration!

r because they are absolutely wonderful and everything went off without a hitch. I couldn’t be more pleased! My guests and the groom and I enjoyed every second. What a blast! BOOK THEM NOW. You will not regret it!!!

infectious, drawing everyone into the moment and making our wedding truly distinctive. Their contribution was not just musical; it was a cultural experience that added depth and excitement to our special day.

second line.

nd Big Fun gave the experience of a lifetime. We worked with Abby from start to finish and she was great to work with. She handled all the permits, police escorts, and route for our 200 person second line!! They even showed up early before the second line began and played music for the guests as everyone prepared for the parade. All of my Texas guests LOVED the second line and said it is something they wish Texas did. Even all of the New Orleans people said the band was the best they've heard! Big Fun Brass Band was 10/10! I would book them for everything!

cited about it. In addition, Abby and the Big Fun team were excellent to communicate with before, up to and during our event- they made everything a breeze and we were thrilled to have them be apart of our day! Thank you so much!

that matter, stop right here and book BFBB. That's it, there's no need to keep reading reviews or looking at other bands - you've found your best option right here. We went to our wedding ceremony, did the thing, then hopped on the bus to the reception venue. (Windsor Court Hotel in our case.) The band announced us and then went into our first dances. Then we went into the party, and it was incredible. They were LOUD and FUN and just everything we could possibly have wanted. They were incredible it reading the room and playing hit after hit after hit. They handled our on-the-fly requests with no issues whatsoever, and sight read a couple of oddball requests that we threw at them as if they had played them 100 times. I was absolutely cracking up when I asked them to play LSU fight song 'Neck,' and they (quite appropriately) told me 'yeah, we can do that but we have to hear this from your wife before we do.' When she ran up and said go for it, the room went absolutely electric. Everyone was out on the dance floor tearing it up, hands in the air, yelling along. They were fantastic. Probably my favorite thing was how they weren't just standing up there playing. They were dancing along and clearly just having a blast with it. They brought in all kinds of cool lighting and loud speakers for announcements and when they took their (well deserved) break. They weren't just a wedding band, they were part of the party in all aspects. Everyone was expecting three or four people playing music in the corner of the room, and when they walked in to ten musicians with brass instruments, keyboards, and a drumset, everyone was floored. They filled the entire venue with fantastic music, handled announcements very well, and were just so pleasant and professional to interact with the entire time. As we hit the end of the reception, everyone just wanted more. The band announced that it was time to go downstairs to the ground floor, and our coordinators and event staff helped usher everyone out. They played our last dance over the speakers for us as they quickly cleaned up and headed downstairs, and we met them down there to kick off the second line parade that they also hosted for us. The second line was phenomenal. They handled everything from route planning, to permitting, dealing with NOPD, taking care of payments, coordinating with hotel staff. All we had to do was walk downstairs and lead the band to Lucy's. Standing in the middle of the intersection of Tchoup and Poydras with red and blue lights flashing all around us, listening to something like eight brass instruments play was magical. When we arrived outside of Lucys, the band hung out for a bit and played in the street as we got everyone into the bar. All the people on the balcony were dancing and singing along as our wedding group made their way in. It was an incredible experience. BFBB’s familiarity with local culture and understanding of how to handle everything and work with our reception venue, coordinator, NOPD, were invaluable and definitely noticeable. They exceeded our expectations in every possible way and most certainly proved their name over and over throughout the night. Big Fun Brass Band, Thank you for making our wedding night so incredibly awesome. Jim and Andy

ept me informed, ensured the band was on time and knew what was expected of them. The band was great and the music was thoroughly enjoyed by all. I recommend them highly.

usic selection. They also took care of all the permitting and logistics of having the second line. So easy to work with. Cannot recommend them enough!

so helpful and professional. Since I don't live in the area, Abby helped me plan a parade route and she secured all necessary permits and police escort. Despite the heat and humidity, the band played with such enthusiasm and made us feel so special. These are people who love what they do and they're very good at it! Big Fun Brass Band created an experience our family and friends will cherish forever.

additional entertainment --stilt walker and juggler-- showed up a few minutes before their scheduled appearance and when it was their time to perform, they didn't disappoint. I had them play 30 minutes before the parade, which helped guests get into a festive mood to dance down the streets of the French Quarter. The band's high energy and dynamic performance was sensational. Everyone loved the experience and it was a a dream come true to do a second line in New Orleans. Thank you for the unforgettable memories. I can't recommend this band enough.

line parade and made the entire experience easy. Our guests were very complimentary of the music and filled the dance floor. The band provided the perfect New Orleans sound track for the event. We highly recommend hiring the BFBB for any event!

and always available to help and answer questions. Everything was arranged seamlessly which was a huge relief for us since we had so much else going on. The band was also fantastic. Talented musicians and a charismatic performance. I am from Louisiana, but my wife's family is from California and had never been to New Orleans -- nearly all of our guests, both locals and first-time visitors, are still talking about how fun the second line was. A big thanks to Abby and Big Fun Brass Band - you made our wedding special and we really appreciate it.

ad so much fun, they couldn’t stop talking about it all weekend. The booking process was smooth and BFBB handled the permitting process for us too, which was great. Exceeded expectations!

nd they killed it!! Amazing song list and incredible performers. Our out of town guests were just blown away! For most of the wedding, the dance floor was packed. Abby and Corey run the band and were so easy to work with. We loved Big Fun!

the guests danced and partied at the gazebo. Our guests were mesmerized and used the words “EPIC” and “Over the Top” to describe them. The Grand Marshal was the perfect added touch because he elevated the entire parade and party up a few notches. They were so much fun and closed out the night with a bang.

nd they were AMAZING! I had so many people come up to me and say how this was the most fun they have ever had at a wedding! Our wedding was a destination event so I was nervous about hiring a band I had not seen before but they were INCREDIBLE! Abby, the band manager, was so easy to work with and was so helpful through out the entire process! Don't think any more about it and book Big Fun Brass Band!

he ease of communication leading up to the contract date. The contractual part was straightforward and easy - always nice to have one less thing to worry about. Family friendly too.

he ceremony, led us out to the second line, and then all seven band members played for the reception. They have a fun mix of music, new and old, and they had most of our wedding party up and dancing! Thank you for everything!

d. Not only was our experience with them playing at our wedding reception fantastic, but working with them in preparing for reception was great as well. They were communicative throughout the whole process and always available to answer any questions. We highly recommend Big Fun for your big day.

ut how great the music was and how much fun they had. We highly recommend this vendor for your wedding reception!

so easy. I highly recommend them and allowing them to apply for the permits on your behalf!

ine and it was easily one of the highlights of our wedding. They are amazingly talented musicians and also just really fun people. 10/10 would recommend them to any couple.

surprised everyone towards the end of our reception, played some INCREDIBLE music and then took us on our route! The musicians are insanely talented and people just had the most amazing time! Not only did they do an amazing job when they were playing, but they were also a pleasure to work with. Corey and Abby were so communicative and helpful. I always knew we were in good hands with them. I highly recommend hiring the Big Fun Brass Band.

guests had never heard of a second line, and they were blown away by the music and experience. They have a very fair price for their services, and best of all, Abby is exactly who you want to be coordinating such an epic event. She was extremely professional, patient, knowledgeable, and responsive. If you are planning a second line, or just want a great band for your event, I highly recommend Big Fun Brass Band.

ho were super responsive, and hired their Signature Package for our wedding of 140 people which included an 8-piece band with the 2nd trumpet and 2nd trombone and a Grand Marshall. They worked with NOLA police to get all of the permits/paperwork/escorts approved in time. Even with delays in permit approvals due to COVID we always felt taken care of. Our guests have not stopped raving about the Second Line (we are from Chicago so most hadn't even heard of a Second Line before) and the Grand Marshall and musicians made it the best part of our wedding day!

ncing the whole time! They know exactly what to play. Everyone from the wedding planner to venue to guests said Big Fun was the best wedding band. Abby is super easy to work with as well. Highly, highly recommend hiring Big Fun for your wedding!
