I recently used Bella Bridal Artistry for my wedding on 8/26/23. Overall I really wasn’t happy with how things went. I thought communication was unprofessional with Melissa through...out my trial, as I had problems with my make up not being done very well and she did not answer my call which we had scheduled or call me back or know I had problems with my trial when she showed up the day of. Day of was unprofessional as well as she did not try to stick to the schedule we had of getting me and all of my bridesmaids done by 2 pm. On the day Melissa, the owner told me she was now planning to do both my hair and my make up as the stylist who did my hair at the trial got sick- which I understood and thought she’d do a great since she was the owner! We started early for my bridal hair & make up at 11:30 and I was not done until 2:45 and my make up was very hastily and not well done in 20 minutes- I had no contour and look pale in my photos. Melissa was not paying attention to time nor communicating with me about what I wanted even though I offered to show her my inspiration picture multiple times throughout the process. She had trouble with the fish tail I wanted and did not tell me she really wasn’t going to get up until she had been attempting to for around 15 min. She spent about an hour & a half curling my hair and not using much hair spray so it just fell right out because the room we were in air conditioning broke so it was very hot in the room. Another stylist, Kelly, who did an amazing job on my bridesmaid’s hair, offered to move me to a spot where the fan would blow on me since it was so hot and no one was in that chair and I was the bride and Melissa said no despite me saying how hot I was and sweating. I know it was less than ideal conditions for it to be hot doing hair & make up but as the bride I wanted to be by the fan and voiced how nice that would be and literally my face turned tomato red sitting in the chair for over 3 hours. Also, after I had sat in the chair for around an hour 45 min I finally asked how we were doing on time and she had no idea it had gotten so late and didn’t really ask or direct another stylist to come and help her and be involved with the bride’s hair & make up besides a girl to recurl my hair who did it and sat there- no one started mr make up and it was after 2 pm and we were supposed to be done by 2 pm. I was so frustrated and felt so ugly and bad about myself, and stressed in the chair and all she could say was “I’m sure you’re really frustrated with me right now” and that was it as I noticeably tried not to cry and voiced how hot, sweaty, and ugly I felt. Paying for services that wasn’t cheap and then to be treated in that way and barely even be offered an apology and having that take over 3 hours of my wedding day to literally have to go right into a first look with my dad after all of that was awful. Don’t get me wrong, I had an AMAZING wedding and am so happy but for that to be how so much of it went was extremely disappointing. However I do want to say- Amelia for make up and Kelly for hair did a GREAT job with my bridesmaids and MOB and MOG’s hair and make up. They were so sweet and kind to all my ladies and I really appreciated that!! Just sad I didn’t feel like I looked as good as them, especially make up wise, as well as extreme lack of communication about changes in stylists and follow up after a rough trial, and time management and communication on the day of by the owner.
