I had the absolute pleasure of working with Thalia and Bill for my wedding on 3/14/24. If you're looking for a wedding photographer who will work with you on your niche requests, b...
ig bridal party personalities and with a specific budget, look no further as you will NOT sacrifice quality with this company. Behind A Lens was an absolute pleasure to work with. We'd do it again!
From the very first discovery phone call, we were met with professionalism and transparency. I spoke with Bill about all of our needs and big questions. He is a delightful, professional, well-spoken individual who went above and beyond to make us feel like we were making the best decision for our photography needs. I booked their services within a 10 minute conversation.
As the wedding drew closer, Thalia worked with us on the details and payment schedule. They were transparent, flexible, and incredibly communicative so we knew exactly what to expect. She finalized the shot list well in advance, she texted with me last minute about schedule changes around potential rain, and they never missed a beat.
We haven't even talked about the pictures yet!
I asked Bill to arrive for our first set of pre-wedding photos at 2pm. At 1:15, 45 minutes early, he was ready, camera in-hand to take 'getting ready' photos which wasn't even included in our schedule!! I was like, "what are you doing here?!" and he was like, "don't you want to remember this part too??"
When we moved on to my portraits, he gave me and the bridal party clear instructions to ensure we got the quality shots we wanted. This continued throughout the day, and he seamlessly blended into our ceremony to take some candid shots without disrupting any sort of flow.
When you're working with a group like ours, I knew we required a patient photographer who could reel in the group. Bill did exactly that without hesitation. He even re-did our entire groomsmen's ties because they had no idea what they were doing LOL
Within a day following the wedding, Thalia and Bill gave us access to 25 'sneak-peek' photos. Thalia asked if I had any requests. I mentioned the ceremony was particularly exciting to see, and she provided that and more.
Thank you Behind A Lens, you are the best option in the Austin Area. Brides--THIS is the team to work with!
Absolutely loved our photographer. She did everything we asked and she came up with the best ideas. Thank you so much!

Bill and Thalia were amazing, I cannot rave enough about them.

y flexible, and very on top of communication.
Bill did our photography for our engagement and wedding, and the photos were the most beautiful photos I’ve ever seen of myself. He is so good at getting people posed in a comfortable, natural way that really brings out the love and joy in the moment. He is funny and gets along well with everyone, and even was able to wrangle my nieces and nephews into a photo where they were (almost) all looking at the camera. I’ve never felt that comfortable getting pictures taken, but I am ecstatic about the photos Bill took.
Bill & Thalia also got our photos back to us so quickly I was amazed. I thought Is have to wait weeks — I got all my wedding photos within days, and they were even kind enough to send me a handful of photos and a beautiful slideshow the day after the wedding, knowing how antsy everyone would be for photos. Everyone from my event was amazed by the photos and the shots they captured.
We will absolutely be reaching out to Behind A Lens in the future for any photography needs.
Oh my goodness I don’t even know where to start! Bill and Thalia are one of a kind. Full of energy and a life. We talked about important shots before the wedding day and everything...
turned out so perfect. My family cannot stop talking about how much wonderful and funny Bill is.
Thank so much for perfectly capturing our special day.

r engagement shoot and especially on our wedding day! They truly made us feel so special and cared about and I couldn’t have imagined anyone else photographing our special day. Bill took his time to get the perfect shots, he asked what we cared about and brought his expertise in EVERY photo. I’m just blown away by the expertise in his art and by how much he truly cares about his clients! If you want your wedding to be perfect you can’t go with anyone but Behind A Lens!

pressed what we were seeking regarding the atmosphere of our photos during the wedding and they don't not disappoint. Initial meeting, they were fun and energetic and love the theme our wedding, and there enthusiasm and excitement, along with experience is why we booked them. Day of the wedding, they were just as amazing, they took all the photos we requested and even made suggestions for photos as a group and as a couple. They captured every silly moment and encouraged whatever dance move, silly pose and everything you were in the mood to do and did the same with our guest. They went far beyond our expectations when taking photos and videography. We received all the photos and video within 2 months of the wedding and even some black and white edits with a 9 minute reel. They are very open to hearing your opinion regarding the edits of the photos and video, which we had none. Also on the plus side, we opted not to have engagement photos but to have bridal portraits a few weeks after our wedding. They were great to make suggestions in regards to locations or a set scenery, whatever you taste is. I had my bridal shoot at the botanical gardens in San Antonio, they arrived on time and we ready to go. And again exceeding our expectations, the shoot lasted 2.5 hrs. We had so much fun going around and taking very opportunity to have a picture taken, they even included photos of my husband and my mother. I can tell they were enjoying themselves and still stayed focus to capture all the moment even skipping a beat. I really appreciate the conversations we had before and even after our wedding and bridal shoot. We are happy they were able to capture all the moments and would love to work with them again. I also encourage meeting or having a video/phone call to experience the joyfulness of their personalities. Highly recommend.
The absolute best! They will not break the bank and were so helpful in planning timelines, and what we wanted to cover in the shoot. They very easily instructed my awkward self for...
poses to make me and my husband look amazing. They were always on top of communication. They were super fast about getting pictures back compared to others. They even include photoshopping which I didn’t think we would need until in my outdoor wedding my dress got covered in little sticker burrs and they work magic with the editing! Definitely recommend them!

ceptive to our ideas and inspiration photos. They were very punctual and precise throughout the entire process, including on the day itself and when delivering the final results. I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend them and can't stress enough how thrilled we are with the outcome. ceremony & was able to capture all of the pictures without a flash as I requested due to a health problem. He even stayed longer because the ceremony started late as they tend to do but he stuck it out through the whole thing & had my entire gallery edited with a beautiful video slideshow the very next day! m the previews I took a dive for Behind a Lens.
Honestly I was blown away. Bill was light hearted, fun, easy to work with, and lead us along so we could enjoy ourselves even in photos. There were so many fantastic candid shots that I'll cherish for the rest of my life. The colors are vibrant and setting ideas are both classic and innovative. He played off the energy of my guests and he's always looking to make the best possible photo everytime.
The communication even after our wedding was fantastic. Timely and fast with photos. Also very happy to make adjustments and easy to communicate with. Also you're able to upgrade your wedding photography package later.
I would absolutely recommend Behind a Lens. It's so affordable but the quality is premium.

ide us through the planning stage. The were amazing , on our wedding day, and helped is get all the photos we wanted. They were great at taking many ‘memory photos’ of our decorations and guests, on top of the photos we had planned. In addition to providing fantastic photographs within 2 day of our wedding, they created the most amazing video for us. We were so moved the first time we watched it, laughing and crying at the memories.
They worked very hard at giving us he perfect memories of our wedding. We now consider them part of our family, We highly recommend the Behind the Lens team from r your photography needs.
Thank you again.

Bill did an amazing job!! For a 2 1/2 hour wedding, he was very thorough and made us feel like we had a long wedding by capturing all of the must-have shots. Since we didn’t have a...
DJ, he also volunteered to introduce us into our reception area and did a great job with that as well. It’s obvious that he takes great pride in his work. He also helped with posing for family members who aren’t photogenic and throws a fun spin on it. He is a perfectionist….so if you aren’t looking for that, he may not be the right one for you. But if you want quality, memorable shots, he’s the one!!
Bill was absolutely amazing. He went above and beyond to not only make sure our wedding photos looked great, but our wedding overall looked great. We didn’t use a wedding planner b...
ut bill helped coordinate a lot of things without us even asking. If there was an issue (there was one or two), Bill went out of his way to help us solve them. Our wedding photos look absolutely amazing and he did a fantastic job at arranging the photos and catching the smallest details. Something as simple as my wife’s engagement ring being crooked on her finger. I can’t recommend Bill enough. He was AMAZING!
Bill was punctual and attentive to detail while capturing the day. Great to work with, we had a blast!

han he was originally supposed to, just to make sure we could get pictures of all of our events and happenings of the day without being rushed. He even took extra time to add in extra details and moments to our video. We just got to see our sneak peak, and so far the pictures look absolutely amazing. Anyone needing a photographer should just go ahead and book Behind a Lens, you will not be disappointed, you will be amazed. I can't wait to see the rest of the photos!

lity that was delivered was unmatched to any service I have ever received before. They were able to make my daughter feel so comfortable that her smile and the experience brought me to the point that I was holding back tears. They made us feel like family. At the venue there were a lot of other photographers and people around. Bill had so much patience that he was able to still capture every precious moment. Plus when I looked at some of the other Photographers and some of the pictures they were taking I knew that I had made the right choice. The setup and camera that Bill used made the other photographers look like armatures. I left without a doubt in my mind that I had chosen the best Company to take my daughters Quinceanera pictures.
I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect wedding photographer. Bill kept reminding me to smile (even when I was exhausted!) because the posing only lasts a few seconds, but the phot...
ographed memories last for generations to come. He made us feel like family. He had a quick turn around time on photos and gave us great high resolution photographs we could print any size we wanted and the album that was included in our wedding is absolutely stunning. I thought it was old school but honestly, he created a timeless piece for our family. I love brining it out to talk about our wedding. They were on time. I recommend them to all my family and friends and will use them for all of our future events!
