Gina was a fantastic MC throughout the reception, and a vital part to ensuring sound ran easily across the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception. For example, a few days before our wedding we had to double check the audio equipment would work with our venue, which was a tad anxiety inducing. Gina stepped in and communicated clearly with our venue and planner to ensure the equipment they had would work seamlessly - and it did! That was a massive help and made us feel incredibly at ease. Gina was a great partner throughout our wedding, and we couldn't recommend them more highly!! The team at Beat Train is also really helpful, communicative, and nice! An A+ company to work with.

Guests of all ages were up dancing, and everyone raved about the music afterward. Katy was also fantastic with all the little details. She helped us select the perfect portions of acoustic songs for our ceremony and dances, remembered our cues for when we wanted our dances to end, and handled transitions and announcements so naturally that nothing ever felt awkward or forced. But what really made Katy special was how genuinely excited she seemed to be celebrating with us. She fit right in with our guests, had us laughing whenever we crossed paths, and honestly felt like a friend we'd known for years. Multiple guests actually asked us how we knew her! She also handled an unexpected technical issue during the reception incredibly quickly and calmly, getting everything back up and running without derailing the party. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ. Katy understood our vibe, made planning easy, kept the reception moving, and absolutely crushed the music. We've already had family members and coworkers ask us for her information for their own weddings. If you're debating whether to book Katy, do it. She is exactly the kind of DJ you want on your wedding day.

C wasn't easy. We wanted someone who could confidently pronounce Chinese names, incorporate Chinese music throughout our cocktail hour and reception, and understand the unique logistics of Hammond Castle. Those requirements made our search much more challenging. Our first conversation with Beat Train Productions was with Jake, who took the time to learn about our vision and what was important to us. Based on our needs, he recommended Jeff Durand, who has extensive experience with multicultural weddings. When we met Jeff, we immediately felt we were in great hands. One of the first things he did was ask how to pronounce my name correctly. My name is difficult for many people, so I really appreciated that he cared enough to ask and make the effort to get it right. On the wedding day, Jeff executed everything seamlessly—from the ceremony through the reception. Our guests (and honestly, we were included!) were a pretty shy crowd when it came to dancing, but Jeff read the room perfectly. He adjusted his approach, kept the energy up without being pushy, and eventually got people out on the dance floor. It was exactly the balance we were hoping for. We couldn't be happier that we chose Beat Train Productions and had Jeff as our DJ. If you're getting married at Hammond Castle, planning a multicultural wedding, or simply looking for a professional, thoughtful, and talented DJ/MC, we highly recommend both Beat Train Productions and Jeff Durand.

DJ that fit our needs. DJ Katy was INCREDIBLE! She was so fun to work with and is super talented at what she does. She had our whole wedding dancing the entire evening and played a great mix of all genres. She was also a great emcee and kept everything running smoothly. You could tell she put a lot of time and energy into making the playlists. She was THE BEST and we would highly recommend her and Beat Train to anyone!

but great things to say about the music Austin played at cocktail hour, which was a mix of Nick Drake, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and requests we had taken from answers in our RSVPs. When it was time to start dancing, he kicked things off with some Whitney Houston and was extremely welcoming and inviting. In lieu of a wedding band, we organized a DIY jam session involving a good chunk of our guests, who were also musicians. Austin kept the night moving by being ready with transition music between sets and personnel changeovers. He was extremely knowledgeable about gear and communicative with us about our timeline. Would highly recommend and would definitely work with him again!

Greg was able to incorporate all of our “must plays,” and also impressed us with the other songs he played which went over very well with the crowd and kept the energy on the dance floor high. Greg also took the time to share playlists of the exact music played throughout the ceremony and reception so that we could relive the sounds from our special day whenever we’d like. All in all Greg was great to work with, and we would highly recommend him and Beat Train Productions!

We provided him with a Spotify playlist to give him a gist of what we were looking for, gave him a few must haves, and otherwise just let him do his thing.  For our first dance he even created a custom edit of the song we wanted which was a really special touch. Our dance floor was packed all night and we got so many comments the following day about how great our DJ was. Can’t thank him enough.

I am a notoriously picky person when it comes to music, but I had literally 0 complaints about working with Greg and beat Train. Could not recommend them enough!

We knew right away from initial convos with Jeff D that we were speaking the same language for what we wanted for the music/dance floor vibe for our wedding. He had great suggestions along the way in planning to ensure things were high energy, our music type preferences, and our timeline. We only gave him 5 must-play songs, with a maybe list to help inform and let him do his thing and boy did he deliver! Our dance floor was PACKED all night and all our guests raved about the music, every song/remix was a banger. I'll always remember finishing our first dance as a couple, everyone rushing to the dance floor from young to old and then a killer ABBA remix being the second song. Jeff kept the energy ALL night and I danced my heart out at my wedding. We also used Beat Train to install some uplighting which was 100% worth it. We also worked with Beat Train to hire a pianist to play a set during our dinner hour with light classical jazz and it was perfect, such a nice complement to the evening.

Our wedding was renaissance fair / steampunk-themed, and Katy did a wonderful job of putting together an instrumental setlist for the cocktail hour with only rough "vibes" from us as guidance! During the dancing, she expertly blended musical options from diverse genres- combining our nerdy must-haves with pop favorites that we (and the audience) couldn't help but dance and sing along to! Katy also provided mics for the major speaking moments during the ceremony and reception, and the sound was always top-notch. It's also notable that, due to unforeseen circumstances, Katy stepped in to DJ our wedding pretty last minute, which makes all this preparation that much more impressive!

I wish I could live on that dance floor forever! I could not recommend DJ Zuri more highly. She rocks.
