excellent! Hans made an amazing cake, and the dinner/apps were fabulous. Thank you, B&S!
We hired Bartleby & Sage for our son's wedding and they were amazing. They had so many great food options, beautiful presentations, and the staff was so professional. Everything ...
was delicious. One of the appetizers included an edible parmesan spoon. The short ribs and vegetable lasagna were the best we've ever had. I couldn't have been more impressed with the catering and Leslie was such a pleasure and wonderful to work with.

the tasting and what we served at the wedding was delicious!! We also gave very vague ideas for what we were thinking for our wedding cake and dessert table and not only did they provide so many options for what we could do but they absolutely blew us away with how beautiful the cake was!

ave asked for a better team taking care of us like their own family. We’ve had so many guests tell us ours was the best wedding they’ve ever been to, and so much of that is thanks to Bartleby & Sage.
If I could give Bartleby & Sage more than five stars, I would in a heartbeat.
Choosing them was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From our very first conversation...
through the final moments of our reception, every interaction was thoughtful, organized, and incredibly personal. As a bride, I wanted to feel confident that everything was under control, and Leslie and her team gave me exactly that. I never once felt left in the dark or anxious. They made the entire planning process feel effortless.
And then there was the food.
My husband and I live in New York City, so we're fortunate to have access to some truly incredible restaurants. Bartleby & Sage somehow exceeded even our highest expectations. Every course was beautifully prepared, thoughtfully presented, and absolutely unforgettable. Months later, our guests are still talking about the meal, and my husband and I constantly find ourselves wishing we could recreate some of Leslie's recipes at home. That's how memorable it was.
Beyond the incredible menu, they made so many thoughtful touches feel deeply personal. I work for a cookware company, and Leslie and her team graciously incorporated our cookware into our pasta station. It may seem like a small detail, but seeing something that means so much to me included in our wedding made the experience even more special. It's those kinds of moments that remind you Bartleby & Sage truly cares about the people they're serving, not just the event they're executing.
And I have to mention the cake. Since I was little, I had always dreamed of having a pink wedding cake, and they brought that childhood vision to life more beautifully than I could have imagined. It was elegant, timeless, and somehow even more perfect than the one I'd pictured for years.
What truly sets Bartleby & Sage apart, though, is their people. Leslie, Stacey, and Fabian made us feel like we were their only couple. They were warm, attentive, and deeply invested in making our wedding everything we envisioned. Their level of care extended far beyond catering -- it felt like they were genuine partners throughout the entire experience.
Our wedding was held at Reid Castle, a new venue for Bartleby & Sage, yet they executed the event with such confidence and professionalism that you never would have guessed it was their first time there. Every detail was handled seamlessly, allowing us to be fully present and enjoy one of the best days of our lives.
When we look back on our wedding, the food is always one of the first things people mention. Hearing guest after guest tell us it was one of the best meals they've ever had has been incredibly special, and we couldn't agree more.
If you're considering Bartleby & Sage, don't hesitate. They don't simply cater an event, they create a personal experience.
In fact, my husband and I are already planning our joint 30th birthday, and there was never a question about who we'd ask to cater it. We can't wait to work with them again.
If you’re looking for a catering company for your NYC wedding, don’t look any further. Bartleby and Sage is the way to go. All of their food is absolutely amazing, super flavorful ...
and unique. On top of the food being amazing they run a very professional detail, oriented and tight ship when it comes to the day of your wedding. Their staff was amazing, attentive, and our guests loved them which made it even more special! Not to mention their pastery chef deserves 5 stars as well. We had a very unique request and he delivered beyond our expectations. Our guests loved the flavor of this cake and it was absolutely beautiful! 10/10 would recommend Bartleby for any of your catering needs!

ll talking about it. Everything felt effortless and well thought out, which allowed us to fully enjoy the day we are so grateful for the care and pride they put into making our wedding so special. I will never stop thanking them for making my wedding perfect. If you are considering their services, please don't hesitate. They are #1! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Leslie and her team. We love you!

t vendors, a fun tasting in Brooklyn, and finalizing rentals and the menu for the big day. On our wedding day the food was delicious and our guests loved all of the options. We had the kebab table, as well as 6 passed around appetizers which were lovely for cocktail hour. The dinner service was exceptional with great options even available for the 10+ kiddos we had at our wedding. We highly recommend working with Leslie and Bartleby & Sage!

the tent in the summer, we quickly made an appointment with Leslie Nilsson, the founder of Bartleby & Sage, and were able to book the last date of 2025 in the tent. Everything fell into place so easily because of Leslie's expertise and recommendations. The wedding was a dream come true for our daughter and son-in-law and we loved the food, location and the vendors that were recommended by Leslie. We highly recommend Bartleby & Sage because of their delicious food (appetizers, first course, main course, dessert and wedding cake were all outstanding!) and the fabulous service, as well as Leslie's help in planning the details of wedding that our daughter and son-in-law envisioned!

atiently answered our questions about food, weddings, and everything in between. We knew right away that their catering would be a highlight of our wedding!
When the wedding day came, B & S’s food did not disappoint. The passed hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour were a huge hit. We have had multiple guests bring them up to us unprompted so that they can rave about them (even weeks after the wedding). The grilled baby lamb chops were the star, but we loved the diversity of hors d’oeuvres Bartleby & Sage offered. From banh mi (both chicken and tofu) to Katz pastrami sandwiches, it was great to be able to reflect our broad range of culinary passions in our hors d’oeuvres. We were also thrilled when we saw that they set aside a plate of the hors d’oeuvres for us to enjoy right after the ceremony (when we were very very hungry!).
The dinner was flavorful and filling. They offered braised beef, grilled salmon, or kung pao tofu. The groom (me) usually dreads the “vegetarian option” at weddings, but the kung pao tofu was flavorful and satisfying—something I was genuinely excited to eat. B & S also brought the bride a half plate of the braised beef and the grilled salmon so that she could enjoy both!
Besides the food, the overall experience with Bartleby & Sage was seamless and stress-free. Their team is the epitome of professionalism and went above and beyond for us. They even helped us navigate some non-food-related crises (such as ensuring that our tables did not block the bar and that our lighting did not look garish).
We’d hire Bartleby & Sage again in a heartbeat. If you want food your guests will rave about and a team that truly has your back, this is it.

drinks were.
Working with Leslie and her team was an absolute pleasure. From tailoring the perfect menu to navigating the logistics of the venue, they made every step effortless. On the big day, the food was as delicious as it was during our tasting—if anything, even better.
We had multiple guests with allergies, and Bartleby & Sage’s team handled accommodations on both a large and personal scale, ensuring everyone felt completely taken care of.
Food was one of our top priorities for the day—and Bartleby & Sage delivered in spades. Their creativity, attention to detail, and seamless service made our wedding something truly special

recommending great vendors, to a wonderful tasting experience, to pulling together our timeline, she really did it all. And not to mention our food was incredible - all of our guests could not stop complimenting it!! Highly highly recommend working with Bartleby & Sage for your wedding!

and her team, by far, had the best food. It wasn’t a competition. I just can’t be more transparent about the fact that B&S have some seriously tasty food that blew everyone else out of the water.
We LOVED the Wainwright house and working with Leslie's team at Bartleby and Sage. This place seems too good to be true, the venue has so many areas for guests to roam, and take p...
ictures, and the food/service was outstanding. I'm very picky and particular and never like wedding food, this food legitimately tasted as good day of as it did at the tasting.
Leslie knows her stuff and is honest and helpful, she doesn't push things on you and genuinely helps you find ways to bring costs down. She and her team are experts, and made everything seamless.
I can't get over how amazing the venue and food turned out. The pricing was also reasonable, to have a wedding in Rye ON THE WATER with legitimately fancy, delicious food at a reasonable price was such a steal, I can't get over it. I'm sad that our wedding is over because I really loved working with Leslie. I can't recommend enough!
We cannot say enough wonderful things about Bartleby and Sage! My husband, Matthew, and I recently had our wedding last week, and working with Leslie and her team was an absolute d...
ream. From start to finish, Leslie was incredibly accommodating, professional, and attentive to every detail. She made the entire process seamless and stress-free, which is no small feat when planning such an important event.
The food was absolutely incredible! Every single guest raved about how delicious everything was, and trust us, we had a diverse group of tastes to please. From appetizers to entrees, everything was prepared and presented to perfection. Even our vegan guests were blown away by the dishes—several of them said it was the best vegan cake they’d ever had, and we couldn’t agree more. The care and creativity that went into crafting a menu that worked for everyone was evident in every bite.
Leslie’s staff and team were equally amazing—efficient, professional, and attentive. They made sure every guest was taken care of, and their service was impeccable. It truly felt like every detail was planned with care and executed flawlessly.
We are so grateful to Bartleby and Sage for making our wedding not only beautiful but also unforgettable. We cannot recommend Leslie and her team enough. If you’re looking for a caterer who will go above and beyond to deliver perfection, look no further. Thank you, Bartleby and Sage, for making our special day even more incredible!
My Husband and I got married in September 2024 and partnered with Bartleby & Sage for catering and planning. At every single turn, our expectations were far exceeded. The attention...
to detail that Leslie and her team have is incredible. Leslie and her team have a unique ability to understand exactly what your vision is and bring it to life even better than you could have ever imagined. Leslie was incredibly responsive and assured me that no question or idea was to big or small.
Over a month later, all of our guests are still raving about the food at our wedding. The passed h'orderves were so delicious and beautiful. We were able to completely customize the menu to match out taste without quality be compromised at all. Your guest will be saying this is the BEST food they have ever had at a wedding.
Bartleby & Sage was a guiding light throughout our special day and we are forever grateful to have decided to work with Leslie and her team.
Our experience with Bartleby & Sage was extraordinary; if we could give 10 stars we would. Our wedding on October 19 at the Wainwright House exceeded our expectations 10 fold. We...
tried to think of one thing we would change to improve the experience - and cannot. Leslie, Barbara and the team were consistently professional, available, kind, supportive and true professionals. When we mentioned to other vendors we were using them they always responded by saying that Leslie and her team are top notch, and they were. Our wedding was elegant, warm, and perfectly executed. The wait staff were professional, elegant and very kind. Delivering hot food, all together, gracefully and quickly. Nothing went wrong. Our guests are STILL talking about the food and the elegance of the experience. We are both trained chefs (with high standards) and were incredibly impressed with the quality, preparation and presentation of the food, and Leslie's thoughtfulness and generosity. Our cake was stunning....and delicious. Leslie and her team handled situations with grace, professionalism and kindness, and created the exact experience we discussed with her. My sisters MIL told her that my sister had a great wedding, but this was the best she's ever attended. We heard that repeatedly. We cannot adequately express our appreciation and gratitude to the entire team for creating a beautiful and memorable experience for us and our guests that we are proud of and thoroughly enjoyed. They really helped create what will be some of our fondest and most meaningful lifelong memories. Thanks so much! Sabrina & Michael

ring and day-of-coordination services they provide. We worked with Rachael Livingston-Meko, whose expertise and kindness made the planning process easy and fun. She did an amazing job steering us through the food and rental selections, offering advice on vendors, and generally helping us bring our vision into focus. The day of was great - everything ran smoothly in large part to the highly professional and gracious Bartleby and Sage team, and we are so grateful.
The food was one of the main highlights of the evening. Everyone was really impressed and happy with their meal, and the service was top-notch.
We 100% recommend Bartleby and Sage. The catering is such an important part of the wedding, and it is an area you absolutely want to spend your money on. Bartleby and Sage offers amazing value. Hire them!

about the food, months later. Food & bev was one of the wedding details my husband and I were most excited about, and Bartleby & Sage let us do a lot of customization to make reflect us, from putting together the perfect tablescape for our budget, down to Stacey hunting for the perfect chocolate shells for dessert liqueur shots! I am also so impressed with not just their chefs (Hans is an artist) but the staff they brought. The bartenders, waiters, etc. were all so professional and kind, and made everything run so smoothly. Seriously, if we had to do it all again, booking Bartleby & Sage would be step one!
Working with Bartleby & Sage was a DREAM. Bartleby & Sage (Leslie, specifically) was our wedding planner, day-of coordinator, and caterer. Each step of the process was flawless.
...
On the food, Leslie, and Hans on desserts, curated an incredible menu. Bartleby & Sage really is not catering so much as a sit down dinner equal in quality to a restaurant meal. Their options are comprehensive, but they also love ideas and individualizing options. (We discussed some appetizers more specific to our hometowns) They hold a private tasting dinner for the couple and two guests, which is fun and delicious. Multiple people at our wedding commented that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. (The burrata! The macarons! The mini ice cream cones! The steak! It goes on). We were so impressed by the wedding menu that we asked Bartleby & Sage to also cater our departure brunch. The brunch food was likewise excellent and the options endless.
Leslie was so helpful throughout the planning process. She kept us on track, in budget, and was responsive throughout. She connected us with vendors who met all of our criteria (cost, aesthetic, quality) and also encouraged and helped us with vendors we found on our own. Bartleby & Sage also has a great online system for the seating chart and layout, which made final planning steps much less stressful.
Finally, the day of coordination was perfect. My husband and I did not have to worry about any logistics and truly enjoyed our wedding weekend. It was a stress-free weekend with no behind-the-scenes snafus; we were confident throughout in Leslie's management of the details and logistics.
A few months later and we're still glowing. We cannot recommend Bartleby & Sage enough!

day an absolute breeze and was always responsive and on top of details. She is also clearly very experience and just a wonderful person to work with - I really trusted her and all the advice she gave. It was clear she wanted our day to be the best it could be. Everything from the food to setup was wonderful - my family and friends raved about the Tuscan table, the cake, and the food. One friend specifically said she always has low expectations for wedding food, but was surprised at how amazing the food was. My husband was also impressed by how attentive the staff were to make sure our glasses were never empty, and we were always informed where we should be next. Highly recommend for any event you are planning!

taste buds dancing. The slow-braised short ribs were an absolute highlight of the evening - tender, flavorful, and simply divine. Working with Stacey Cervellino Thorp, our dedicated contact at Bartleby & Sage, (and our day-of coordinator) was an absolute pleasure. Stacey not only demonstrated impeccable professionalism but also brought an infectious energy and enthusiasm to the planning process. She went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of our day was tailored to our preferences, encouraging creativity and offering valuable suggestions along the way. From our first meeting, working with Stacey immediately felt like working with a good friend. And let's not forget about the pièce de résistance - our wedding cake, expertly crafted by Bartleby & Sage's talented pastry chef, Hans Baang. We presented Hans with a challenge of a cake flavor combination he hadn’t made before. The result was exquisite, and it was evident that Hans poured his heart and soul into creating a masterpiece that exceeded our wildest dreams. Our compliments extend beyond the outstanding food and service for our wedding; The Bartleby & Sage team also went above and beyond to establish a genuine personal connection with us. What truly amazed us was their continued support even after the event was over. It's rare to find a vendor who not only delivers exceptional service but also genuinely cares about their clients on a personal level. In summary, Bartleby & Sage exceeded all expectations and played a significant role in making our wedding day truly unforgettable. We wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking exceptional cuisine, impeccable service, and a team that genuinely cares about making your event a success.

Bartleby and Sage catered our summer 2023 wedding at the Bordone in NYC and absolutely knocked it out of the park!! We were so thrilled with their food, staff, and professionalism ...
every step of the way. We chose Bartleby and Sage after interviewing several caterers and sampling their menus. What struck us about B&S was their commitment to our experience. From meeting one, Stacey planned a lovely tasting menu. She had nice background music playing, a selection of chilled wine and water, a beautifully set table and a printed menu for our reference. During our tasting we met the chef Ramon and pastry chef Hans, who presented us with beautifully plated food and left us completely stuffed. Everyone was friendly, enthusiastic and passionate about making our experience special. Stacey took notes and offered great suggestions. None of the other caterers we sampled lived up to this experience. We chose to hire Stacey as our day of coordinator in addition to Bartleby and Sage’s catering. She walked us through every step of the wedding planning process, through countless emails and several meetings, making the experience enjoyable. She gave us vendor recommendations, coordinated all of our rentals, and prepared our day of timeline, among other things. On the day of our wedding, everything went off without a hitch. The food was absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented. The cake and desserts by Hans were also incredible. We had many compliments from our guests. Friends and family have told us that it was the best wedding food they’ve had. The service was prompt and professional. The servers were always looking out for us, making sure Dave and I got enough appetizers during cocktail hour and had our beverages refilled throughout dinner service. Tables were promptly cleared and there were no delays in service. B&S also happily accommodated a couple specific requests as well as last minute adjustments. Stacey’s calm confidence throughout the night was reassuring and allowed us to let go and just enjoy ourselves. When we popped into the kitchen to say hi, the team was friendly and kind. And after the last song played, most of our important personal items were packed and distributed to our bridal party for safe keeping. We had such a great experience with Bartleby and Sage and would highly recommend to everyone!
Bartleby & Sage is an amazing company led by Leslie Nilsson, who was a joy to work with. The team is way more than just a catering operation as they were immensely helpful to us t...
hroughout the entire process. We got married at the Wainwright House in Rye, New York on June 10th, 2023. We highly recommend the venue as well, it’s a beautiful place.
Let’s start with the food. The food was SO delicious, and there was so much on hand with nice portion sizes. We had many friends and family telling us it was the best food they have ever had at a Wedding. We also had a few special food requests given the Bride is from Brazil and the Groom is Vegan, but they were easily incorporated into the menu. B&S made a special Risotto as one of our three main meals which had vegan cheese, and in addition to the standard baguettes for the table they made a popular bread from Brazil called Pao de Queijo (essentially cheesy bread). They also made a tasty Brazilian dessert called a Brigadeiro – the Brazilians said this one of the best they’ve ever had.
Now, onto the team. The staff’s performance was flawless, and they brought great energy throughout the entire Wedding. Leslie even brought more Brazilian staff for our big day, which was extra nice. Also worth noting that Leslie and her group serve as the day-of-planner, so they coordinated everything including our early morning prep, the Ceremony, and managed all of our vendors throughout the event. It was truly executed to perfection.
Pre-Wedding help was extraordinary. From day 1, Leslie basically served as a quasi-Wedding planner. She provided us with her top vendor recommendations (all groups they work with on a regular basis), which were also exceptional. She was extremely responsive by email and always willing to chat and make occasional trips to the venue with us. We actually didn’t hire a Wedding planner and did everything ourselves, but the process was made easier and more efficient with Leslie and her team.
Our Wedding was a magical day, and we are so grateful to Bartleby & Sage for being a huge part of it. Thank you to everyone who made our big day so perfect!!

r their great service from food planning, food tasting, cocktail hour, and reception. Leslie, the owner was very helpful in every way, she accommodated every little thing we asked. The servers and bartenders were very professional and made great drinks for our cocktail hour. Our first course was the burrata salad, everyone loved it! The main courses was amazing as well! Our wedding cake, it was made by Chef Hans, was the star of night! They were really kind to make us a very one-of-a-kind cake, which is called Sansrival cake, tasted great and so happy that we were able to incorporate my country’s delicacy to our wedding day. I couldn’t thank them enough for this very kind gesture. We also had brunch the next day with omelet station and mimosas and the chefs and bartenders made our brunch experience top notch. The food was amazing! From pastries to omelets to bloody marys. Me, my family and guests have zero complaints about this company. They provided us amazing food and great service! Thank you Bartleby and Sage for the nice wedding experience!

Some of our menu options were seafood paella, vegetable lasagna, and braised beef short ribs and the most delicious passed appetizers like ahi tuna tartare, edamame dumplings, empanadas, and others. The service was incredible. We couldn't be happier with our decision to hire Bartleby & Sage and Stacey. We had so many of our guest come up to us saying it had been one of the best weddings with the best food they've ever been too! Forever grateful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

nd food! From the goat cheese and beet macarons to the crab cakes to the salmon and dessert station, the food was simply the best wedding food I’ve ever had. They were so accommodating with our guests who had allergies and dietary restrictions, and they truly did not miss a single thing.
We hired Rachael Livingston-Meko to be our day of coordinator and this was our single best decision of planning our entire wedding! She was so professional, kind, supportive, and guided us every step of the planning journey- from menus to helping with with rentals to seating charts and rain plans (which we didn’t need but were so happy to have just in case), she was the glue that held everything together! She was so helpful and communicative- always ready to hop on a call or take over emailing our vendors! On our wedding day, we were running a bit behind schedule and she just was so flexible and proactive while adjusting things seamlessly. Rachael just made sure we were present and enjoying everything from start to finish! She made sure we ate, drank, and had the time of our lives, even making sure we had a little space to just soak everything up after our ceremony (and change my shoes)! Do not plan your wedding day without her! ❤️

ble! Our guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious everything tasted, and we agreed - every dish was perfectly cooked, hot, and bursting with flavor.
But it wasn't just the food that made our experience so special - Leslie was also a joy to work with. She was professional, attentive, and easy to communicate with throughout the entire planning process. We appreciated how she took the time to understand our vision and preferences, and went above and beyond to ensure that everything was just right.
Overall, we cannot recommend Bartleby & Sage enough. If you're looking for top-notch food and exceptional service, look no further. Thank you so much for making our wedding day even more special!
When we say we are still dreaming about the food we had on our wedding day, neither of us are exaggerating!
Bartleby & Sage was hands down the best decision we made when planning...
our wedding. From the very start, it was an absolute breeze working with the entire team, including the absolute rock-star human that is Rachael, who we also worked with through Bartleby & Sage as our day-of-coordinator (though she provided SO much more than that!). Every part of working with this team was fun and enjoyable, two words that aren’t often heard when planning a wedding! When it came time to make day-of decisions, Rachael was supportive and encouraging every step of the way. Her level-headedness and calm demeanor kept everything breezy, but still so exciting. We are truly so lucky to have had her as a part of our day - couldn’t have done it without your magic, Rachael!
As for the food? Our friends and family are still messaging us saying that the food was literally the best they have ever had at a wedding. Many are saying it’s the best food they’ve ever had in their entire lives! The tasting was incredible and the food on the actual day was somehow even better?! Portions were plentiful and everything came out hot from the kitchen. The staff were amazing and kind the entire night, treating everyone like family.
Bartleby & Sage, you truly were a dream to work with and we are so so grateful for all you amazing work. Thank you eternally, we wish we could get married all over again with you!

g from start to finish since we decided to go with food trucks to serve the dinner. From the tasting, we knew we had made the right decision. Leslie was so accommodating to my husband's allergies (gluten and dairy) and spun up the most delicious bite-sized food. On the day of the wedding, the staff made sure that everything ran smoothly and that the tables were always cleared. Our guests would not stop raving about the arancini balls and lobster rolls! We are so appreciative of Leslie and her team, they made our wedding delicious!

best! We did a few tastings with other caterers, and no one compared. They made us feel welcomed from the minute we sat down. Our guests are still talking about the food and how delicious everything was. Especially the steak, which we heard multiple times that you did not even need a knife. We also hired Stacey as our day of coordinator, which does not do what she did justice. She was with us every step of the way. Our best decision was hiring Stacey and Barleby & Sage for our wedding. Do not look any further, because they are the best!!!!

elicious the food was (which doesn't often happen at a wedding, especially with 165 guests). The food is also beautifully presented. The team was very accommodating of our needs and requests. The bride and members of her family have celiac disease and they were able to create so many delicious gluten free options! Overall, Stacey and the entire team were wonderful to work with and played an important part in our beautiful wedding day.

- from our initial meeting 17 months out I knew that we would be in good hands. Aside from helping us pick out tableware and linens, she also helped source vendors for other parts of our wedding such as lighting. Our wedding tasting was amazing and we had no doubt that the food (and wedding cake!) at our wedding would be amazing.
Fast forward to our wedding - everything was PERFECT. I cannot tell you how many people told us the food at our wedding was the best they have ever had. Our custom cocktails were delicious, appetizers were to die for, and dinner was not only amazing but timed perfectly & hot. Our blueberry lemon wedding cake was delicious & beautiful.
Hire B&S - you will not be disappointed!
