We highly recommend this venue! Michael was very accessible throughout the whole process and even jumped in to help direct our procession on the day. We were able to drop off our d...
ecor the day before, and he let us nail stuff to the gazebo, and due to the unexpected heat he was totally open to us moving our cocktail hour space and utilizing the tent as needed (we had not paid for the tent).
Bathrooms are luxurious and plentiful, porches and grounds were beautiful for photos, AC was spot on and so needed. The only hiccup was that the freezer had broken so our ice cream for the brownie Sundae dessert melted. Although he kept mostly out of sight, I would have expected a slightly nicer outfit for Michael on the wedding day. But thats nit picky. They lowered their rates recently due to the pandemic too. Again, highly recommend!!
The venue was perfect for a smaller wedding. We used the inside room, not the tent, which helped us achieve the intimate setting we were hoping to create. We had complete access of...
the whole park for pictures, which was a plus. Michael who runs the Carriage House was very helpful. He was very easy going and familiar with the other vendors we chose. All in all we had a great experience at the Carriage House.
The facility and venue is wonderful and certainly a Springfield gem!! With that being said, we had a very poor experience the morning of the Wedding. Michael had originally said in...
e-mails to the bride he was going to help set up the tables, however when he finally arrived he did not help set-up at all. Family & bridesmaids spent the morning cleaning the chairs, floor, setting the linens on tables, etc. When asked about his assistance he had said that is the job of the wedding planner and seemed annoyed. Although it did not take away from the day, we were all disappointed in this venue especially since we all live in the Forest Park area.
We had our wedding reception here on October 17, 2015 and it was perfect. The property was beautiful. The grounds were covered in mums which gave a great fall look. The tent was pe...
rfect. We had 185 guest and everyone fit in with room to spare for a dance floor. Michael was a pleasure to work with. He made sure everything was in line and went smooth. I would highly recommend this venue!!!!
We had an amazing experience at the Barney Estate and appreciate all of the help we received from Michael.
We wanted something authentic, vintage, outdoors and affordable. The carriage house was all of that and more! We had planned to get married somewhere else in the park and have the r...
eception in the beautiful tent. Well, it rained on our wedding day so we needed a backup plan and Michael with the carriage house worked with us to get married inside the carriage house. We got to use our caterer, decorations, the rooms upstairs for us to prep in and the grounds as needed for pics etc. We wanted our dogs in the wedding and they even let us keep them in their crate upstairs. The chairs and tables were provided and there are plenty of kitchens to use. The tent for the reception is beautiful just breathtaking, it comes with some twinkle lights and some very small fans. We got married in July so we had to rent more fans to keep the tent cool. This was the absolute perfect location for our wedding and so very affordable especially when compared to like places in the surrounding areas. We loooooved the Carriage house!
Our 9/28/12 wedding reception was held at the Barney Carriage House in Forest Park. Everything about the venue is beautiful - from the house itself to the gardens to the reception ...
tent. Despite the rain, our pictures were all lovely because the Carriage House is such a pretty location. Lots of wonderful spots for photos! Michael, the coordinator, is very helpful and was always prompt in responding to my phone calls. Elegant Affairs, the company with the liquor license for the Carriage House, was also great to work with. One thing to note about this venue is that it is solely a venue – it is up to you to find and deal with other vendors. For someone that’s not looking for an all-in-one package, this venue is great. I’m so happy that I was able to select the perfect vendors for my event, rather than getting a generic package, as it made the night that much more memorable and special for me and my groom.
We looked at The Carriage House for our wedding. The grounds were really nice, and you wouldn't know you were in the middle of Springfield. The downside is, it's pretty close to ...
91 and you can hear the traffic go by (especially a siren).
We chose the Carriage House at the Barney Estate for the park like setting. It was everything we had hoped it could be and more. The landscape is beautiful and lent itself to many ...
gorgeous backdrops for photos. The tent on site was perfect for a summer wedding. The staff was incredibly accomodating in the months leading up to, the day prior to, and the day of the wedding. We couldn't have imagined a better place to profess our love to each other and begin our lives together!
This was the perfect venue, and so very easy to work with. The coordinator was very flexible and helpful with organizing. Wonderful experience.
We loved the victorian atmosphere and the decor.;You could not hear the piped in sound system in the tent.....was not loud enough to be heard over conversations of guests
