About this vendor
Hi, I'm Cathlene, a documentary wedding photographer who lives for true connection. I have 25 years of experience photographing weddings and elopements. During that time, I've learned to find beauty in every scene. From the quiet of an intimate elopement to the bustle and collective excitement of a large wedding, I have refined my ability to be present and calm for my clients on their wedding day.
My storytelling style is often described as genuine, candid and classically beautiful. None of the images on my website or social accounts were posed! I care about my clients and aim to create a beautiful, fun and relaxed experience for everyone.
I am based in the Nevada City /Grass Valley area of Northern California and offer wedding and elopement photography throughout the greater Sacramento area. the Sierra Foothills, Reno, the Central Valley, the Bay Area and beyond. I will travel anywhere to make meaningful photographs.
I welcome LGBTQIA+ clients & those of all faiths, backgrounds and ethnicities. I'd love to chat more with you about your wedding day vision! Let's connect.

clicked right away. She was very patient and happy to answer all of our questions and was really easy to feel comfortable with. She stayed in close communication and helped us plan a dreamy engagement session in her hometown- and delivered some stunning images that we used for our “save the date” cards. She helped us arrange tons of planning and lighting details for our wedding. She was extremely patient with our families and really easy going on our big day. She has a calm presence and a beautiful eye for detail. We legit LOVE our wedding photos, LOVED working with Cathlene- and will definitely be hiring her for our anniversary photo shoot.

rapher. She was a great help planning our wedding and was really easy and fun to work with on our big day.
When we received our wedding images, tears streamed down both of our faces as we moved from image to image. Cathlene captured each moment with a depth we didn’t think possible. Her photographs included instances we expected and so many we didn’t. The “feel” of the day, the look between each of our parents, the bittersweet tears of my father giving away his only daughter. Cathlene is truly an artist and we would recommend her to anyone looking for the perfect wedding photographer.
