Wonderful company - wonderful food - wonderful service!
We used Avalon for our cocktail hour, bars, and reception food - they were amazing. Horacio Zamora was our POC and he truly...
went above and beyond to ensure we had exactly what we wanted in terms of tastes and bar menu. The day-of service was truly wonderful - all of their staff were professional and very nice. Our guests said the food was some of the best they'd ever had at a wedding. Highly recommend!
Horacio and his team did an absolutely fantastic job for our wedding. We didn't really have a "traditional" wedding with a sit down dinner. Instead we had a small private ceremon...
y with family and a big party with about 65 people. Food was important for quality and options. We had passed hors d'ouevres, a beautiful open bar and best of all....late night snacks for our guests. The price was very reasonable and Horacio didn't blink an eye with our requests. Since our reception was in an art gallery, we were limited with certain types of drinks and it was not an issue at all. He was very responsive to all my emails and very thorough with the details. The tasting appointment was very professional and all of the food options were amazing. I highly recommend using Avalon for your wedding!
We hired Avalon Caterers for our small wedding, with a cocktail style reception at the Hendry House in Arlington, VA. I worked exclusively with Milena and she was very responsive ...
and nothing short of amazing! Avalon/Milena was extremely flexible and helped us plan an amazing menu within our budget. She had great suggestions regarding the menu, bar, layout and all things wedding. Avalon permits you to supply your own beer/wine/liquor which was something that we really appreciated (was a huge savings for us). The food was outstanding and our guests continually commented on the quality and quantity of the food and service. Avalon also did our wedding cake and it was delish and beautiful. We had asked if they would do something a bit different for the cake decor and they were very accommodating. They made a beautiful cake that looked just like the photo I had sent them. I honestly can't say enough about their services and particularly working with Milena. I felt like she was my wedding planner and she put so much time and effort into planning and setting up our big day. She brought our event to life and made our day perfect. I would highly recommend Avalon for any catering needs
A-MA-ZING. Next to the groom, Avalon was the best thing about our wedding.
The Mr. and I worked with Brittany to set-up most of our details, and she was so awesome-- very pat...
ient as we flip-flopped on all sorts of details (linens, grooms cake vs. dessert course, etc), and had good suggestions while still letting us control the process. She helped us figure out quantities to buy our own alcohol, and did customized menu requests for the cocktail hour.
We chose Avalon largely because they fit our budget, and I was totally floored with the level of service. The food was incredible, too-- guests are still emailing me to get the recipe for the corn souffle.
I wish I could include a piece of constructive criticism about Avalon, since I think that generally those make reviews more useful. But this is a 100% rave.

Unrelated, but I want to include in every review so that all brides see it: avoid USA Bus Charter like the plague. They came late, had buses breakdown on the side of the road, got lost, screamed at passengers. Altogether a nightmare.
Avalon was really willing to work with me on our reception- we did a cocktail party featuring desserts only and they helped plan a great menu! We also used their coordination servi...
ces the day of and our POC, Britney, was awesome! She handled everything perfectly!
Avalon was by far the best part of the wedding reception and the entire planning process. They worked with us from the beginning to plan a cocktail, celebration style reception and...
they saw our vision at every step. I was most concerned about how it all looked and my husband, who is a chef, was obviously concerned about the taste and unique quality of the food. We were both happy and so were our guests. They made us a large sized menu (at our request) and small table menus highlighting the different apps and stations, so we could have a relaxed outdoor restaurant feel. Without there help this all would have never happened.
Did I mention how good the food tasted. Our guests were expecting great food and they were even surprised with what was delivered. Anyone looking for a caterer that will provide food that is not so traditional, or even traditional, they can deliver. Anyone who wants the look they have it too. Essentially, Avalon is built for the bride and groom...they are about customer service, and the food is amazing!
