We had a mixed experience with Austin Catering. On the positive side, the food and drinks themselves were great, and we received a ton of compliments from our guests. We also chose...
family-style dinner service and absolutely loved that format.
Unfortunately, there were several significant issues with the execution. Most importantly, the two vegetarian meals we had specifically selected were never served. We had also provided allergy information ahead of time, but one of those guests was told at dinner that the only thing she could safely eat was bread. Austin Catering refunded us for the affected meals afterward, which we appreciated, but ultimately three of our guests had little to nothing to eat for dinner. For a catering company—especially when dietary restrictions had been communicated in advance—that was really disappointing.
We also ran out of tequila before dinner was even served, despite purchasing more alcohol than the quantities they recommended. Since tequila was used in one of our signature cocktails, someone had to leave the wedding to make a liquor store run. We were later told they hadn’t anticipated so many guests ordering the signature cocktails, which was frustrating given that those drinks were specifically being featured.
There were also a few service and communication issues. At times, the bar line became extremely long, and in hindsight we wish an additional bartender had been recommended or staffed. We had also made specific requests about using certain glassware for particular drinks at certain times—and paid extra for that glassware—but those instructions were apparently not communicated to the bartenders.
There was a lot that Austin Catering did well, and our guests genuinely enjoyed the food and drinks. However, given the dietary oversights, alcohol planning, bar staffing, and communication issues, we wish the execution had been more consistent with the quality of the food itself.
Flavia with Austin Catering was such a joy. She was open to all my crazy ideas, and she was excited to make them happen. She thinks of the little things -- for example, we had tira...
misu from an outside vendor for dessert. She asked if we wanted them to bring extra cocoa powder to make the slices look more appealing. Who does that? Not to mention she's just really sweet and cheerful. Everything went wonderfully the day of, and many, many people raved about the food! They accomodated an Argentinian-theme wedding for us, and even worked to refine small tweaks we made with a follow-up tasting. We also did adorable, late-night Chicago hot dogs that were also a hit! Their prices were very reasonable, too. To be completely honest, they did forget one very small thing (a drink garnish) and a bigger thing (fries we meant to serve with hot dogs), but honestly, that was far from our biggest concern, and they owned up to the mistake and refunded us. Overall, highly recommend!
We used Austin Catering twice for the second time in a year. We worked with KD for both weddings. One daughter was married 5/31/25 and we used Austin's for her wedding. The food...
was such a hit- everyone wanted to know where it was from. So it was not a surprise we used them this year for her twin's April 12 wedding. From the planning and decisions on which food style/type to linens and options (like Late Night Snack), KD was fabulous. In addition, the catering staff (and bartenders) were amazing. Everyone did such a great job to put together a wedding of our dreams! Thank you!
5 stars for the day of - The food and service from Austin Catering on the day of was truly OUTSTANDING. Our guests are still raving about the food, and it exceeded our expectations...
as well. The staff were all SO kind and accommodating to all our guests and also made sure we were taken care of and our drinks were full/we actually got to eat. They even packed up some of the food in to-go boxes for us to take with us after the event which was such a special and unexpected touch.
In the spirit of full transparency for other couples as they look to book vendors, we did not have the best experience with planning and communication from the sales management team. We had to follow up multiple times to receive a response and it often took 3+ weeks to get an answer back on straightforward questions. The sales manager often had the wrong details on our proposal when we finally received it back, and we felt a bit like an afterthought/the attention to detail for the money we were spending was not there.
We also felt that the pricing/costs provided were not transparent. We were being charged double tax and their service charge on our rentals through a different company, which was not clearly outlined in the invoice and added up to hundreds of dollars extra we were paying to have Austin Catering coordinate our rentals. If this had been more clearly communicated to us and the reason for this warranted, we would not have had an issue, but we were doing 95% of the work ourselves to coordinate the rentals so this felt a bit exploitative. We were also charged the tasting fee 6 months late-- We were aware of the fee, but once we booked with AC and were never charged we assumed they waived the fee like many other catering vendors we talked to. When we asked about the surprise charge, they told us they simply "forgot" to charge it to us initially. We felt this could have been an instance where since it was their error, they could have waived this. The food costs were also raised a few months out from our wedding, and the sales manager never called out the increase-- We did the math ourselves and when we flagged this to them were told they forgot to let us know.
All of this being said, we truly did have a wonderful day of experience with Austin Catering that more than made up for the hiccups leading up to. We don't share this to complain, but simply to let other couples know our experience and provide AC with honest feedback for improvement.

d they absolutely delivered -- everything came out DELICIOUS. Our guests kept telling us it was some of the best wedding food they've ever had! Even our vendors highly recommend them and stated at previous wedding they were going back for seconds.
Austin Catering was accommodating with food restrictions and allergies. The servers on the day of were kind, professional, and worked efficiently to keep everything running smoothly.
Highly recommend Austin Catering for anyone looking for exceptional service and truly delicious food!

ttention to detail. Every guest was raving about their food, even the little kids (who we all know are sometimes the hardest to please!) Flavia worked tirelessly with us to ensure the menu was exactly what we wanted for our special day, and made sure that the food quality was exactly as it should be. Thank you so much Austin Catering!
We had such a great experience with Austin catering! Our guests were raving all night that it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding! Special shoutout to the Wild Mushroom...
Gnocchi which was the star of the show! I don’t think we had a single guest that didn’t mention to us how much they loved the gnocchi!! My only complaint is that we didn’t have more leftovers! Also the bartenders were fantastic! They always had a drink ready any time I was coming close to the bar which I appreciated since it meant less time waiting at the bar and more time enjoying with my new husband, family & friends

mix and match from all their menu options and the food was just incredible! The staff on the day of the wedding were incredible and they even sent us home with two of each item so we could try everything! We highly recommend Austin Catering!

sa, queso, and creamy jalapeno dip at every table so that when our guests sat down, they could immediately dig in. Austin Catering brought this dream of ours to life and it was a hit with our family and friends! They passed our hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour which were also a great hit! We had fajitas buffet style and everything tasted so delicious. The quality of their food and service was unmatched, and our wedding day would not have been the same without some good ole' TexMex. We got to indulge in some of our favorite food on our big day all because of Austin Catering! We would recommend Austin Catering to family, friends, and anyone who is in need of a caterer for their wedding day.
Austin Catering was great! They have a fully customizable menu to really fit all catering needs. We were told by multiple guests that it was THE best wedding food they've ever had-...
it was fresh, warm, and flavorful. We also used their bar package with a signature cocktail which was delicious! The servers walked around during cocktail hour with apps AND drinks, which was a huge convenience for our guests. The whole day-of team was really incredible, attentive, and hard-working and I would highly recommend them!
Austin catering was WONDERFUL. Our wedding food was incredible and we had (and are still getting) so many comments of the "best wedding food I've ever had". KD was a dream to work ...
with. There were other options for our venue that branded themselves as the most budget friendly, but I did the math (the intense item by item comparison) and Austin Catering came out on top AND blew us away during our tasting. It was a no brainer.

work with during their wedding planning. Gabby was my contact, whom I can not rave about enough. She was so incredibly helpful, thoughtful and patient with me, coming up with really great suggestions, recommendations and guidance. Lastly, the food is AMAZING. The flavor, quality, presentation is 10/10. My favorite thing about Austin Catering is how accommodating they are. As a bride who's gluten-free, vegan and had strong opinions about her menu, I felt entirely confident that my menu was going to turn out perfect thanks to Gabby's help, and it did! My guests raved about our food, including the kids! The staff they high is also amazing - every single person at my wedding was so kind and made each guests feel special. I highly highly recommend Austin Catering!

xible, and responsive throughout the whole process and helped us create a perfect menu of our favorite foods. Not only that, but the food was SO good. I wish they had a restaurant I could visit to eat this food again! I had several guests months after the wedding still mentioning to me how much they enjoyed the food. We even used Austin catering for our drinks and cake after realizing how great K.D. was to work with. I highly recommend using this company for your wedding!! (Pictured is our private dinner they set up for us during cocktail hour)

hole range of items to choose from for the main meal and snacks, including making a few edits for our preferences. On the wedding day, everything went smoothly and the food was just as good as we remembered it from the tasting session. Multiple guests commented that it was the best wedding food they'd had.
We would absolutely choose to go with Austin Catering for our next event.

ue, which is challenging when cooking for such large parties. We have received countless compliments post-wedding about how great our food was! Our point-person was Flavia, who was a fantastic communicator. She was prompt with her responses and always happy to make as many tweaks to the menu as we needed. Austin catering took care of everything- not only the food, but also the bartending, rentals, linens, clean up and even the cake cutting! Their staff was professional and a well-oiled machine. They seem to have a consistent staff that all know each other and have worked there long-term (rather than the higher-turn-over companies). They have a great reputation all around Austin (with other caterers and event planners) and they definitely lived up to their name.

The staff at the event were lovely as well—not only did they coordinate the meal seamlessly, but they also checked in with us throughout the night to make sure we got to try all of the appetizers and to see if we needed anything. We couldn't have been happier with the experience and highly recommend Austin Catering!

ing isn't your typical "pick from two options" kind of place. Our menu was catered to our liking- we had a southwest twist on classics. We went with passed appetizers and a plated meal, and it was beautiful and delicious! Our guests had nothing but outstanding things to say about their food! We also used their bartending services, and everything was seamless! They even helped us create our signature cocktails! If you are getting married in the Austin area, and you want food that tastes like a high end restaurant and not hotel/catered food- I would go with Austin Catering!
Austin Catering went above and beyond making our wedding day spectacular.. especially jumping in less than two weeks before our projected date due to our previous vendor not being ...
able to cater last minute. We were super impressed by their kindness, efficiency, willingness to recreate our previous menu, and effort to help us despite the disaster that was happening. All of our guests raved about the delicious food! It was amazing. I wish we could relive that day over and over again.. look no further- they will not disappoint! :)
My husband and I highly recommend Austin Catering for your next event. We used them for our wedding and were thoroughly impressed with their flexibility/customer service, culinary ...
execution, and competitive pricing. This was the first event we’ve ever catered but KD and her team made the process easy. As an LGBT couple, we felt complete support from the team.
We were surprised by the affordability compared to several other major caterers in Austin. We had explored a few other caterers that offered a fixed selection of menu items, and Austin Catering had a large menu of favorites. But in addition to the items they make regularly, they will literally cook anything you want. We gave them a few of our favorite recipes which they were able to cook and serve at our wedding which helped make the event very personal. They were also very easy to work with in terms of accommodating guests with dietary restrictions and preferences. The execution on the day of our event was smooth. The team was professional and everyone raved about the food.
Overall, we would absolutely recommend Austin Catering and they will be our first choice next time we need to cater an event. Thanks to KD and the entire team for their wonderful contribution to our special day.

ple that work here are fabulous. After we'd had 2 tastings with other companies we came here and were blown away by the quality of the food. We had beef tenderloin, stuffed chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, and brussel sprouts for our wedding dinner and we also had a churro table with ice cream as a late night snack. Everyone loved the food and they made sure any food allergies were taken very seriously. They had the head chef come out and talk to my brother who has a dairy allergy to make sure he felt taken care of & that his meal was what he wanted. We also had some service team members with us checking in on us the whole reception to make sure we were never without a drink in our hand and bringing us desserts and whatever we'd like. Again, service was impeccable. They also handled our bar & rentals and did the drink recipes exactly how I wanted- taste and presentation. 10/10 experience.

On the wedding day, their team executed flawlessly. The service was impeccable, and the entire dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. Austin Catering's professionalism and responsiveness were perfect. They exceeded our expectations from the start. We had stations for our dinner, and each station was delicious.
We wholeheartedly recommend Austin Catering for couples seeking culinary excellence and an unforgettable wedding experience. Thank you, Austin Catering, for making our wedding day a culinary treat!

eat; Austin's goes out of their way to set up a buffet that looks stunning (pretty baskets, napkins, etc.) and tastes phenomenal throughout the evening. We had 160 guests and with 2 buffet tables, they were able to get everyone their food within 25 minutes. We also had a few guests not show up, and Austin's allowed some of our extra hungry guests to get seconds since we had the extra food. The servers were very kind and even passed out champagne to everyone before our toasts. My husband and I were at a sweetheart table and had a server come to us a few different times to make sure we had everything we needed and didn't have to move to get anything. At the end of the night, they sent us (the bride and groom) home with a big bag of leftovers to eat in our hotel room since they know it's rare to have time to eat! I highly recommend Austin's Catering for anyone looking for an outstanding wedding caterer.

The presentation was exquisite, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every dish. Not to mention the impeccable service provided by the waitstaff – attentive, friendly, and always with a smile. Our guests were treated like royalty from the moment they arrived until the last goodbye. We were so happy with our experience!!

And the service was top knot, every single person who represented Austin Catering that night (event managers, bartenders, culinary attendants, servers) was so nice and incredibly professional. From adapting the menu so that we could serve California tri-tip to gracefully helping us deal with some last minute curve balls from our venue which they had nothing to do with, the Asutin Catering team delivered everything we expected and more. We got SO many compliments on our food and we couldn't be happier with how everything came out. 12/10 would recommend that you book AC for your event!

All the guest were raving about everything especially the bacon wrapped shrimp during cocktail hour and the the butter that came with rolls. Also, Austin did a great job accommodating the entire menu to be gluten free (including dessert - brownies and strawberry cheese cake. We worked wit KD and she did an amazing job answering all of our questions, and helping us save money where we could. We strongly recommend using Austin Catering for your wedding. We opted for passed appetizers, a plated Greek salad so that guests could go ahead and mingle and begin when it was time for dinner, and a choice of entrees for our buffet line. Everything was beautiful and delicious. Additionally, we went with the bar package since we are not from the Austin area AND added a cake when our cake vendor wasn't responsive; it was excellent. Every single staff member was friendly and courteous, sought out our guests with special diets to ensure correct selections were provided, and made us feel welcome and celebrated. We were super pleased.

t completely reassured throughout the wedding planning process AND on our wedding day. K.D guided us through a thorough tasting and helped us customize our ideal menu for the day. On the day of the wedding, everything was set up perfectly and the food came out on time, at the perfect temperature and, most importantly, it was *delicious*. We heard from so many guests that they loved the food and K.D made sure that we (Bride & Groom) were pampered and taken care of. We always had someone checking in with us, bringing us drinks, making sure we had everything we needed. We also have to give a shout-out to the servers and staff - everyone was so kind and courteous. The cherry on top of the cake was that they prepared a to-go bag for us and made sure it was in the getaway car at the right time. We arrived at our hotel and got to enjoy the full meal once more, something we highly recommend! All in all, Austin Catering was a 10/10 for us. They were professional, attentive and made us feel heard. We never felt pressured, quite the opposite - the whole process with them was an absolute joy!!

We got their crostini bar as well as some passed polenta bites for our cocktail hour. We got the roast beef, mushroom gnocchi, roasted vegetables and mixed salad for our main course. Everything was fantastic, especially the mushroom gnocchi (I have had multiple people bring it up to me after the fact). We had some alterations to dishes to cater to our specific guests and desires, and the team at Austin Catering handled it all with ease. If you’re looking for a full service caterer, you can’t go wrong with Austin Catering.
