About this vendor
Located in Millbury, MA, Asa Waters Mansion is a luxurious estate venue. Suited for weddings, celebrations, and other events, this destination is a piece of heritage and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. By supplying couples with hospitable and dedicated staff, this venue ensures that every client gets the individualized services that they need.
Asa Waters Mansion boasts beautiful interior spaces alongside manicured outdoor gardens. With a history that began in 1826, this mansion was the brainchild of Asa Waters II. Asa sourced exquisite materials from Italy, Central America, and regions of America's Northeast. After three years of construction, his vision became a reality and the mansion took form as one of the country's stateliest residences of the time.
Asa Waters Mansion stayed within the hands of the Waters family until 1929. From that point on it changed ownership multiple times, first to religious groups, then to the Town of Millbury. In the mid-1990s, the mansion was advocated for by the Friends of the Asa Waters Mansion society. The dedication of this group led to the venue's restoration and reopening to the public. On these grounds, you can enjoy your ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and more. The estate has a one-event-per-day policy, ensuring that clients feel comfortable and can make the most of their special day. You will have the opportunity to select vendors from a preferred provider list, and you can choose to set up either indoors or outdoors. Other important considerations, like chairs, tables, and dressing areas, are all accounted for with Asa Waters Mansion. More information is available in this venue's policy listing and payments are made simple with an online bill pay option. Delightfully historic yet conveniently modern, this venue is an ideal mix of two worlds.

dding the most perfect day ever. Everything from professionalism, to communication to attention to details made the event such a wonderful success. This beautiful historic mansion is truly a New England gem and is a perfect place to get married!! We highly recommend!!

reminded me that everything would be fine throughout the process. Our guests thought the venue was beautiful, and we did too. I cannot wait to see how pictures near the mansion turn out. I would definitely recommend having your wedding here.
This venue is perfect! Kristen is great to work with and the venue has amazing relationships with many local caterers and vendors to ensure the day is what you want.
Asa Waters is an amazing place to have your wedding! The history and natural beauty speaks for itself. Our wedding was all outside; we lucked out with amazing weather and the tent ...
was plenty large enough for our guests. The yard games were a bonus! The best part was the price and everything that is included within that price, you will not find elsewhere, not to mention how local it was for us. Kristen is extremely professional and helpful and is perfect within her role. Answers all questions in a timely manner and always there to help, organize, and prepare you for your big day. Our guests were also just as impressed with the venue as we were and loved how the ceremony and reception were all on location. Our guests raved about this venue just as much as we did! I would not have changed a single thing! Go with this venue, you will not regret it!

right away. Kristen was available by phone and email and very responsive. In fact she was the only one that returned my call when inquiring about hosting our event. Several other venues never returned my call. We had tea service (scones, with traditional clotted cream and specialty accoutrements, & tea sandwiches) with additional salad and soup. The potato leek soup was phenomenal! We also ordered a cake from Kristen and she did an outstanding job. I sent a few pictures for ideas and gave her creative freedom to do what she thought would look nice. It was perfect. And the flavor profiles were exceptional. From start to finish everything went off without a hitch. I was able to arrange everything remotely as I live in Florida. I highly recommend the Asa Waters Mansion for any event. I would hold another one there in a heartbeat!

patience, thank you. Not to go into detail but she still had a smile on her face. She made a beautiful delicious cake for me as well. Thank you Kristen :):):)
Kristen, the manager, was incredible and she made our day so much more easy. The venue is beautiful inside and outside, and we all let that day with wonderful memories.

What can we say about Kristen, in short she is incredible! We were a covid-couple, who had to postpone our wedding twice, and find a new venue. We booked with Kristen in late 2020,...
and she worked with us every step of the way. She helped us rethink how to make sure all the religious aspects that were important to us could still happen according to Covid guidelines. Then, when restrictions were lifted, she helped us rethink them again! She also thought about the little things. Kristen knew that Arielle and I wanted to make sure we didn’t see each other until first looks, and she also knew that we were getting married on the second longest day of the year, so it was going to be hot. Kristen recommended that I get ready on the first floor so I could be in central air and avoid overheating while getting ready.
Additionally, she quickly replied to all our emails, sometimes in less than 12 hours. She worked with our vendors to make sure everything went smoothly. Kristen also got a sense of who we were as a couple, and each of our individual needs and helped each of us stay calm and collected when stress levels rose. Not only did she do all of this, she even made our wedding cake! WHICH WAS DELICIOUS! We cannot speak highly enough of Kristen and all that she does!
The venue itself was also gorgeous! Asa Waters, in the wake of Covid, decided to rent an outdoor tent with a stone floor to hold outdoor weddings. The tent was spacious, gorgeous, and elegant. It provided ample space for a large dance floor without feeling too crowded or empty. We also held some of our events indoors, and the ceremony and reception outdoors, which provided our guests with the opportunity to see the different beautiful and historic spaces of the property. In short, Kristen is AMAZING, Asa Waters is BEAUTIFUL, and YOU WILL HAVE A GORGEOUS WEDDING AT THE VENUE!

o detail is amazing. The mansion is the perfect backdrop for amazing pictures and a perfect day. We rented the tent and it was a great space for our 75 guests. They loved exploring the mansion and the grounds. They let us use their cornhole boards and parquet. The gazebo made for some great pictures too! I cant say enough for this venue and for Kristens help. Will recommend this venue to anyone and everyone I know!

We held our daughter's wedding shower at Asa Waters at the end of August. It was a difficult time during this pandemic and we were worried about pulling this event off safely. It...
was managed wonderfully by Kristen (the director there) and we had a safe and beautiful event.
We were able to tie in some guests virtually, had a lovely outside lunch under tents and watched my daughter open her presents inside the mansion all socially distanced and safe.
The grounds were beautiful as well as the inside of the mansion. The price was very reasonable and we couldn't be happier.
I would highly recommend this venue.
We had our ceremony & reception at Asa Waters Mansion. Both the grounds and mansion are very beautiful. Kristen was extremely professional and kind to work with. Highly recommend!

is very accommodating and answers any questions you have. We ended up renting a tent for the outside, and having the dinner inside. The mansion is perfect for small or medium weddings.

From the moment I contacted Catherine at Asa Waters Mansion, my experience was delightful. As a matter of fact, when taking my event producer to the mansion for the first time, I t...
old her that the best word to describe Catherine was "delightful."
The mansion is stunning, well-kept, and the grounds are impeccable. We used the mansion for both our ceremony and reception, which only increased what a reasonable venue it was. It met all of our needs.
The mansion is maintained by the Town of Millbury, which has advantages and disadvantages. We were able to use all of our own vendors, which was something that was very important to us, as we had many outside vendors already chosen. Because it is maintained by the town, though, they have just instituted a new policy that any event using the mansion after 8pm needs a police detail. It's inexpensive, and the police officer was polite and non-intrusive. Some of my guests actually enjoyed chatting with the police officer. But it is something you should be aware of.
Overall, we absolutely loved the mansion and wouldn't even consider using a different location if we were to do it all over again. This is definitely a gem you should check out.
Being on a budget for our wedding, I had complete sticker shock when I started looking into venues. One of the biggest issues we encountered was the inability to truly customize wi...
thout breaking the bank (as most places have set packages that you need to choose from & everything needs to go through and be purchased through them). I was pleasantly surprised however when we found the Asa Waters Mansion. It's a beautiful building with equally beautiful grounds. By bringing in our own vendors, we were able to customize and create a unique experience (while also saving a bunch of $$ which allowed us to have open bar all night)! This place is perfect for a smaller wedding, but where we were expecting 125 - 140 we ended up having the ceremony at the gazebo, dinner outside under a tent, dancing in the main hall and used the other two rooms for a bar, gift table, guest book, favors, etc. It was a perfect flow, and everyone remarked at what a wonderful venue it was. Also, Catherine was fantastic to work with and extremely helpful. I would absolutely recommend the Asa Waters Mansion as a venue!
