Alyssa Sorenson Photo

obvious artistic talent she is a deeply kind human who puts everyone at ease and makes you feel (and look) like yourself.

most beautiful works of art commemorating our wedding that we could have asked for. Alyssa's eye for picking out candid moments and use of framing to lead the viewer's eye throughout the scene she has composed displays true mastery of her craft, especially when you consider how fast she has to react to capture everything. Working with her was a breeze too, from our initial meetings with her all the way to the day of. Our guests all gushed over how beautiful the final album of photos turned out, our only issue was in narrowing down our favorites to print!

the photos of our wedding was such a wonderful nostalgic moment. Alyssa truly captures everything as it unfolds. She has an eye for grabbing those special moments. We also loved her absolute love of pure photography - the film, the documentary style. Alyssa is communicative, straight forward and so easy to work with. She rolled into our day like a fly on the wall with four cameras and produced the most memorable photos we will cherish for a lifetime.

did just that but exceeded expectations. We got amazing family photos, couple photos but not just that, there were some candid photos that were absolutely pieces of art. Alyssa truly has an amazing eye for photography. Another thing I’ve noticed after going to other weddings is that sometimes wedding photos can feel hectic and stressful. Not once did Alyssa pull us away from a conversation just to get a photo. In turn it just made the whole day feel smooth and laid back. If you’re looking for an editorial style photographer for your wedding, please BOOK ALYSSA!

oned for my wedding to make sure she was a good fit. Her photos are timeless, artful, and intentional. The whole process from start to finish was seamless. I was especially impressed with the questionnaire I received from her prior to the wedding to make sure we were on the same page and she knew what to expect that day. I've had many people tell me my wedding photos are the best they've ever seen - and I agree! Alyssa is calm, cool, collected, and fun to be with. She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and I feel like hiring Alyssa as our photographer was the best decision we made during our wedding planning. You'll probably miss her and want to hang out after your wedding.

s an eye for detail and captures all the great moments and tells a story through her pictures. Her photography style is unique. She spends time knowing the subject but also understanding the key people in the event, and ensuring they are captured as well. We have over a thousand pictures and ALL of them are unique and beautiful. If you are looking for a true photographer artist, Alyssa is it!

edding photos brought us right back to the day. We couldn't help by shed a few tears (again).

r. There are a million photographers out there, but Alyssa definitely has the eye to capture the real and tender moments of your wedding day. I have never felt so beautiful in candid photos as I did in Alyssa's. Absolutely worth every cent.

exchanges (which were VERY prompt). We were very happy that she happened to be available for our day. On the day of the wedding, it felt like an old friend just popped by to take some photos-- she was so personable and made me very at ease when my nerves were a little frazzled from the mild chaos of herding family members, putting together floral arrangements, and handling all the last minute DIY wedding details. My husband and I can both count on one hand the amount of photos we've had taken of ourselves in the last 5 years, so suffice to say we are somewhat uncomfortable being in front of a lens. You'd never know it from the amazing photos that resulted from our wedding. We are so so happy with the results of our wedding photos and wouldn't change anything about the whole experience. Here are some things that Alyssa excels at: -Prompt communication -Clearly laying out what options would work best for our particular wedding (we ended up doing a 2 hour session since our elopement style wedding was so small) -Blending in easily as a part of our family celebrations -Providing just enough direction to us to have nice backgrounds, body positioning, and moments captured without overly posing or creating artificial poses -An excellent combination of traditional wedding moments and unique spontaneity -A clear and reasonable contract (I like having a good contract to set clear expectations on both ends) -A very easy, professional, and visually pleasing format for displaying all the final photos -A super sweet slideshow that I will watch every day with happy tears in eyes -Everyone wants to know pricing-- I have no real frame of reference for cost of wedding photography because I only got one other quote for photography before finding Alyssa and realizing she was exactly what we wanted. I feel her prices were absolutely reasonable and competitive given both the skill she has in interacting with people, and the quality product she provides.

otions to the viewers. I rave about her every time someone looks at the photos.

vidual pictures and as a whole set. Alyssa herself is wonderful and easy to talk to. Everyone who interacted with her on the wedding day loved her! Post-wedding, I was stunned when she turned around ALL of our photos only 4 weeks after the wedding! The bonus slideshow is such a nice touch, and the photos are sent via Pic-Time, which allows you to purchase prints, frames, etc directly from the portal. I almost don't have words for how stunning our photos are. Looking through them made me feel so grateful for all the wonderful people in our lives, and helped me remember how lovely our wedding day really was. It's so true when people say your wedding day rushes past; there are so many details I missed or moments that I let myself feel stressed, and I am so thankful that Alyssa captured everything with so much beauty and detail. Some of the things I loved about our photos: - Alyssa absolutely captured our personalities; goofiness and all! - Collectively, the pics captured the setting so well; the entire collection feels like a story - The dancing pics are possibly the best wedding dance pics I've ever seen?!!!! Alyssa has given us such a gift with her beautiful work. We'll treasure these photos for a lifetime! I absolutely recommend her!

made it super comfortable

eauty and truth hidden beneath the surface. On a professional level, she’s quick to respond, transparent, supportive and decisive. And she’s all around a good, empathetic human being. Be prepared to be seen and love what she sees in you.

apping pictures of every special moment of the day. She made me feel comfortable and was great at directing everyone around. We just got our photos back from the day and they took our breath away. She has much an artistic eye and is so creative. I'm over the moon!

e worked with us and our unique style to create pictures that matched. 5 stars for Alyssa!

back at all our amazing engagement and wedding photos Alyssa took for us and appreciate what an incredible job she did. As someone who is super camera-shy, I didn't feel at all uncomfortable with Alyssa. She gave us just enough direction without forcing an unnatural pose, and listened to all our feedback and requests. One of the things that stood out to me was how interesting and meaningful the photos in Alyssa's portfolio were; she has such a unique way of telling a story through her art, and I'm so happy she was able to capture our story too. By far our favorite vendor, and we can't speak highly enough of Alyssa, her professionalism, and her skill. Thank you so much !

most is how her pictures feel like real life: not cookie-cutter, not squared-up and centered, not tripod-captured smiles. She has a way of getting candid moments that really bring out the actual emotion and joy we were feeling in the moment without feeling over-posed or uncomfortable. Alyssa made us feel relaxed and the whole experience was very easy. She was punctual, was easy to communicate with, flexible. All of the things! To give you a background, we did a couples session with our 2 dogs by taking a walk around our neighborhood.

h because we were stressed with possible weather issues. She handled it with such grace. She actually mentioned that rain was one of her favorite settings. We were drawn to Alyssa because she offers a style that is unique and off the beaten path of typical wedding photos. The result was stunning. It literally looked like a photo essay featured in a high end New York City gallery. We could not have been more pleased with the result. We had so many shots where we were just left saying, ”how did she get that shot?!” We honestly don’t even remember seeing her during the wedding or the reception. But, she captured up close and personal shots that we cannot get over!! Thank you Alyssa! We also just wanted to say we appreciate how inclusive she is and we appreciate that she was willing to work with us as members of the LGBTQ+ community! If we could get married again just to have an excuse to have her do more photographs—we would! She is a MUST if you are considering her for your wedding!

thoughtfully and artistically taken. We can't say enough great things, and we would 100% hire her again in the future!

y nervous getting our photos taken because I am a perfectionist and I was extremely worried I wasn't going to like any photos of me BUT Alyssa delivered; we loved every single photo she gave us. Can't recommend her enough. If you are thinking about booking her, BOOK NOW! She is amazing and you will love your photos.

and 1). She gave us good directions for your typical family photos, but also caught everything in between. I didn't realize how many pictures that she was taking until I got almost 200 pictures back! I now have pictures of us walking, holding hands, laughing, picking up kids, the baby crying, the nature around us, and so much more. Alyssa has a way of capturing real people and real emotions in a way that I haven't seen before. It's like magic! When I was looking at my pictures for the first time, I became teary eyed by the 3rd picture because they are that amazing. I am so happy to have these memories saved in such a beautiful format. If you need an amazing photographer (trust me, you do) who tells a story more than just taking pictures, Alyssa is your girl!

portant things you can spend money on. And "who should we hire?" If you are also asking yourself this question, we can help you: Alyssa Sorenson. Alyssa is amazing. We can't do her justice in words and encourage you to look at her stunning photos on her website/instagram. We reviewed the portfolios of dozens of wedding photographers, and she really stood out from everyone else. Her work really outshines the field in terms of integrity, authenticity, and artistry. Alyssa cares about documenting emotion and the fleeting, beautiful moments that fill your wedding day, but that can be so difficult to capture if you don't have her careful, attentive eye. She finds unique and surprising perspectives to tell stories that would otherwise be unheard, and she also has a knack for being in the perfect place at the right time to capture the tear or smile that sums up a lifetime of loving someone. Yes, she's that good. In addition to being the most creative and skilled photographer you can find, she is such a lovely, calm, genuine person who will elevate your wedding day just with her presence. She was somehow constantly present, but in a humble, quiet way that felt so integrated into the wedding. She truly went above and beyond. In the flurry of activity right before the ceremony she was helping us with tasks like a sister (she buttoned my mom's dress!), and then she stayed more than an hour after we had initially planned in order to capture the dancing. I loved watching her move through the day with her quiet power to notice and capture beauty. She is incredibly focused and yet somehow manages to be open to all of the spontaneous moments that you later can't imagine having missed. She's an absolute goddess among mortals. I promise you that you will thank yourself for making such a spectacular decision if you work with her. We LOVED having her be a part of the wedding--we just wish we could have spent more time just hanging out. When we think of our wedding day, we think of a day infused with Alyssa's kindness, patience, and warmth. Alyssa combines grace and unparalleled artistic skill. In the words of one of our best friends, "I know I was at your wedding and it was beautiful, but these pictures feel like something out of Hollywood and I sort of have to double check that I was there," and my brother, "WOW, that photographer NAILED IT!" Alyssa was also beyond generous in working with us to ensure that every moment and person we hoped to capture was part of the wedding gallery. We really cannot imagine a more accommodating and kind approach to sharing her work. She also adorably encouraged us to record us watching our wedding slideshow, which is also something we're so grateful to have. We look at her photos every day. They are definitely the antidote to a sad day, and bring us back to the overwhelming joy of being surrounded by our loved ones on the happiest day of our lives. We know we will treasure them as long as we live. We really don't know how to thank her. We would be extremely grateful to have Alyssa be a part of any important occasion in the future, and feel SO lucky that we were able to work with her on our wedding. Please do yourself one of the biggest, best lifetime favors you can, and have her be a part of your wedding. We love you, Alyssa! Thank you!

py and not like you are the most uncomfortable person! The second I met Alyssa I was 100% calmer. She was so kind and personable and made me feel completely at ease. The shoot felt like it went so quick and I never once felt like I was uncomfortable or hating it! I felt like we were just talking and getting to know each other and she was snapping a few pics while doing it! Long story short, she is incredible. When we got the pictures back (SO QUICKLY) my fiance and I were both sobbing at how amazing they were and how they completely captured our love! Do yourself a favor and book Alyssa! These are just the engagements and I could not be more thrilled to have her shoot our wedding!

all so gorgeous!) When searching for a photographer I fell in love with her unique documentary style. She is able to capture honest moments in creative ways. Bringing out the beauty of seemingly little things. Another thing that made her stand out to me was she isn't afraid to edit photos in black and white. Thoughtfully choosing photos to do so that greater emphasize the love and other emotions felt. Not only is the work Alyssa makes amazing, but working with her was too. She was both a professional and a friend. She was dependable, kept in contact with us, quickly answering any questions we had up to and during our bridal shoot and wedding day, and gently directed us on what to do when taking formal photos. Alyssa's loving and fun personality helped us feel relaxed and like ourselves. We had such a fun time during our shoot! We are so happy with our wedding photos and loved our experience working with Alyssa!

ts of your wedding day become beautiful. As I scrolled through the hundreds of pictures she gave us (yes, hundreds because we had her do everything: engagements, formals, wedding ceremony, and reception), I laughed or teared up at almost every single one. Her pictures captured the magic of the day perfectly. They’re everything I could have hoped for and then some. As for Alyssa herself, she was a dream to work with too. She is warm, funny, stylish, and observant. When we showed up for our engagments, we were fast friends. She gave the directions us noobs to photography needed to get good pictures. I dreaded that it would be awkward, but of course, it wasn’t. She made it fun. She’s also incridly professional. I definitely had a few bridal freak out/indecisive moments, and she didn’t take it personally and she simply helped me come to a decision I (and my husband) would be happy with. Now that the wedding has come and gone, I find myself fantasizing about excuses to get dressed up in fabulous clothes and taking dramatic photos on a windy mountain side, and of course, Alyssa is the photographer I imagine there 💛

me being someone who gets awkward as soon as I see a camera, she knew exactly how to make everything look stunning. Our photos turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined. I only wish she could follow me around and photograph my entire life. She's one of the greats. <3

ork with the best photographer in the country!" I knew from the minute I came across her work that her talent was truly special, but to see the photos from our wedding only served to emphasize that further. Alyssa is kind, funny, genuine, responsive, and very easy to work with. I was worried the day after the wedding that I hadn't spent enough time doing planned photos and that I hadn't given her enough material, but I shouldn't have worried for it for a second. She managed to capture our day in the most complete and magical way that is beyond what I could have hoped for and we will cherish these pictures forever. The only regret I have is that she wasn't also able to be our guest. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Alyssa, I cannot wait to have you document events in our lives for years to come.

edding that was across the country where Alyssa showed up with a brand new baby in tow, having just given birth within the past few weeks. See what I mean when I say dedicated? Not only did our engagement shots turn out well, somehow we didn't look awkward at all. She made us extremely comfortable, got us both laughing, even got me to forget that I forgot to wear half my makeup and our photos turned out raw and so beautiful, I still adore them. My husband, who dreads photos, had a good time, he didn't realize how long we were there, and he looked SO handsome in our pictures! A year later we got married across the country and though it cost a bit more to afford for Alyssa to come with us (think flight, hotel, transportation), we have zero regrets. She is a unique photographer through and through and we got one of a kind shots from our big city wedding, which was at a very old museum but a museum with funk and class, and she was a sport! 9 hours with a brand new baby, breastfeeding, not missing a moment of our magic or weirdness, we have shots we love and will get to look back on forever. We, to this day, get complimented on our color palette, the individuality in each of our photos, and the people we chose to be in our wedding party (how different, kind, beautiful in so many different ways they were, how cool it was they were from all over (yes, we're even talking different countries, not just states and cities), and everyone got along like they knew each other for years), and all of that wouldn't be half as apparent if it weren't for Alyssa and her artistic eye, the way she captures movement and especially interaction. I sense feeling in our photos. Some of my east coast friends even say they want her to come photograph their weddings when it is their time and I don't blame them, I fully encourage it. She is one of a kind, worth every penny and then some. After our wedding we wanted to take some raw photos back home in our great mountain state, my hubs dresses down and I chose to wear a more bohemian dress among the incredible rockfaces and stunning fall trees in one of our great canyons. We wanted to show some contrast between who we are and can be as a couple. We did the fancy, the big city, and now we wanted the rugged, raw, jagged, dirty, and the real mountains that we call home as a contrast. I'm so glad we shot our formal photos that way and that Alyssa agreed to let us do them differently. I didn't climb back into my Jenny Packham dress and drag it through the dirt, my husband wasn't back in a tux. We were us in the mountain weather. Best of all, we shot some photos announcing our honeymoon surprise...we had gotten pregnant on our honeymoon and are due in May! You bet your bums we will be looking to hire Alyssa to shoot that too, as we will be welcoming our first baby girl together into this world. I could not say better things about this photographer or the company she works for. I am beyond excited for her to document all parts and phases of our life, as it truly feels like she has been there from the beginning of our amazing journey together and I can't wait to see what unfolds for us and what that looks like through the ends of her mysterious, artsy, and always one-of-a-kind lens. I honestly cannot. So much love and appreciation to Alyssa!

thing look like it's out of a magazine. She is also willing to travel out of state which is great for people like me who don't live in Utah. I am looking forward to using her again in the future. She really is amazing!

nd my birth story. Alyssa has always made me feel comfortable and beautiful. You will not be disappointed going with Alyssa Sorenson Photography!

ade our day so amazing! We look forward to working with her in the future!!

look. The edited shots came back in a timely manner. I was so impressed with how they looked. She was able to truly capture our personalities and who we are, but made it look amazing. Every time someone goes on my social media pages they comment to me how amazing my wedding pictures are. I love the pictures and loved my experience with Alyssa!
