Alyssa Haley - Hair & Makeup Artist

s able to give everyone the stylings they were hoping for and thanks to her we all looked amazing! Our hair styles lasted through a windy ceremony and fun on the dance floor. By the end of the night we still looked as great as when she put on the final touches. I cannot recommend her enough! I look forward to working with her in the future.

me so much confidence going into the big day. She was always available to hop on a call and chat before I even signed contracts, which immediately set her apart. Alyssa not only does bridal hair, but also makeup. Since my timeline didn’t allow for her to do both, she seamlessly brought in another artist she knew and fit my vision so that everything ran smoothly—something I really appreciated in the middle of all the wedding chaos. On the day itself, Alyssa felt like more than a stylist; she truly had my back every step of the way. She’s so easy to talk to, whether it’s about tweaks to your look or just life in general—it honestly felt like having a close friend behind the chair. And as an added bonus, Alyssa also does floral preservation. She created a gorgeous pressed floral gift for one of my bridesmaids, and she’s currently working on a few keepsakes with my wedding flowers that I know will be just as incredible. If you’re looking for someone who is not only talented but also kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in you, Alyssa is it.

d with me to develop the perfect hair and makeup look. On the day of, she was a calm presence who remained focused despite the chaos around us. I would 1000% recommend her.

d never gotten my makeup done before, and Alyssa took my inspiration pics and ran with them. At my trial, I was so thrilled because I left feeling so comfortable and like I looked like me. She gave me a few recommendations about adjusting skincare between my trial and my wedding and when I tell you I took the notes, I took the notes. The difference between my trial and my wedding day… night and day! I was so incredibly obsessed with my day of look, it lasted like 36 hours (I may or may not have fallen asleep on my wedding night with the makeup still on). Long story short, she was so fun, so incredible, and the person you want with you the morning of your wedding!

ith. I didn't have very strong ideas about how to do my hair and makeup, and she struck the perfect balance between guiding me based on her expertise, but also supporting me as I was trying to find my own vision. I had my hair and makeup done in her studio which was such a cozy and warm environment to begin my wedding day. I would recommend her to anyone!

of! I'm not someone who wears a lot of makeup day-to-day and it was really important to me to feel natural and comfortable in my own skin. Alyssa completely understood this and created a look that felt and looked flawless! Both my hair and makeup lasted the entire wedding and I didn't have to worry one bit. Even my husband (who isn't a big fan of makeup) said it looked perfect! Besides being punctual, organized, and all around excellent at what she does, Alyssa is SO much fun to spend time with. The wedding day can be chaotic with a lot of people running around and things going on. Alyssa (and her impeccable getting ready playlist) set such a calm, positive vibe for the day and everyone in my wedding party loved hanging out with her. I cannot recommend her highly enough and am so grateful to her for making my wedding day such a treat.

t ease with her throughout the process whether it be the day to day set up and communication, the test trial or even the big day. She did 7 different services for me, my bridesmaids and our officant and never once complained. Even when there was a slight change of schedule due to some mix up with my photographer, Alyssa managed to get all of our hair and makeup done an hour earlier than planned. She can do long or short hair and is skilled in makeup styles for even the most makeup phobic brides like me! I often feel uncomfortable with makeup as I never wear it in my daily life, but the work Alyssa did for me made me feel like a million bucks. It was timeless and lightweight and stayed on the whole night. She even made some of my girls little touch up kits! When it came to my hair she created the perfect fingerwave to match my veil. She gave me exactly what I wanted. I was planning my wedding on a small hair and makeup budget and I found her prices to be very affordable. She even cut me a deal because I have short hair. Alyssa was 100% worth every dollar I spent and more! I can't thank her enough for making me feel perfect on my wedding day.

th so helpful during my trial and collaborated with me to find a look that I loved. Alyssa even followed up with me after the trial to see how everything held up and to see if we needed to make any adjustments. We ended up making a few changes and I’m so glad we did because I LOVED how my final look turned out! I have a ton of really thick hair that doesn’t usually hold a curl and Alyssa truly worked her magic to create a gorgeous look that lasted all day & night! Alyssa and Sarah also did hair & makeup for my entire bridal party and my mom & MIL on wedding day as well. They made everyone feel so comfortable and everyone looked incredible!! I think the best part about Alyssa & Sarah was the positive, chill energy they brought with them on wedding day. One thing I didn’t think about when I was booking my vendors was how much time you really spend with your hair & makeup team on your wedding day. Emotions and nerves are at their highest on the morning of your wedding and they seriously made such a difference for me and everyone else! Alyssa and Sarah are both just genuinely nice people who were able to keep us feeling relaxed & taken care of, who could laugh & joke around with us and who just kept an overall positive vibe in the room. I can’t say enough great things, look no further for your wedding day hair & makeup needs!!!

istics were clear and thorough. She was thoughtful and helpful when it came to deciding on a style that I loved and which worked for my hair. It was enjoyable to have her be a part of my day and the final outcome was just as I hoped! My bridal party was equally content. Thank you!

ry passionate about what she does and that shows through her amazing work. On top of her great work, she has a calming presence which was very welcome on my wedding day. I would highly recommend Alyssa for hair and makeup services, you won't be disappointed.

ed for hair and make up for my wedding day but it has not been a great experience up to that point. Alyssa talked me through my anxieties and reassured me no matter what I would look gorgeous on my wedding day. It was at that moment I knew I needed to part ways with the original company and hire Alyssa to be the make up artist for my big day. Alyssa was absolutely incredible, make sure all my needs were met and I was feeling comfortable and confident on my big day. She is a true professional with a passion for her work and the people she works with. Alyssa I can’t thank you enough for the peace and beauty you brought to the day for myself and my ladies. All my love, Chloe! ♡

d not have asked for a better hair and makeup artist. Thank you Alyssa for making my wedding day so perfect!

works her magic on you! My hair is naturally extremely flat and straight and I always struggle to get my hair to hold a curl whenever I try to do it myself, so I knew I wanted a professional to do it for my wedding day. Alyssa easily meets those expectations of professionality with her skills in makeup and hair. While my makeup trial went very well, my hair trial was a little more difficult (naturally, lol), but Alyssa was very professional and supportive of making my hair vision come true for my wedding day by going above and beyond with doing her own personal research on products that would help my straight hair hold a curl without damaging it with heat! The products she used held my hair so well throughout the hot summer day and dancing, and I was fully able to be present on my wedding day and have lots of fun! I didn't have to worry about my curls falling out and my makeup sweating off at all. Alyssa and her assistant worked super quickly on my bridal party but didn't rush their work and we were done ahead of schedule! My bridesmaids and mom were all saying how pretty they felt, and I felt like the most beautiful person alive! Alyssa and her services are worth every cent, I will definitely be recommending her to anyone who asks!

rs had turned us down. Alyssa agreed to work with us and was amazing each step of the way. She communicates quickly, has a gorgeous studio in an old mill, and has amazing vibes in person. My mother was complimented all night on her hair and makeup. I would not only recommend Alyssa but would gladly work with her again in the future!

n following up with me right after the trial and then along the way up to the wedding. She even let some of my bridal party have trials which was super lovely of her. On the day, we had some schedule changes and Alyssa was super flexible, rolling with the changes, and making me so relaxed and at ease. I felt incredibly pampered on my wedding day, and my hair and makeup have NEVER looked that good. She is a true artist and helped me feel absolutely stunning on my special day.

el comfortable was so appreciated. I was lucky that I had reached out to her to get my makeup done for our engagement photos and was happy to find out our energy was a good match. Who you choose to be surrounded by on your wedding day is something really important to think about. I couldn’t have chosen a better hair and makeup artist like Alyssa. If you want to look your best but also feel and look like yourself (a more natural look), she is the one for you!

enough to still look cute. She also has such a great personality and is so fun to talk to. She just goes above and beyond and makes you feel like you are the center of attention and it’s your day.

come out fabulous, Alyssa was the calm and good vibes we needed on our wedding day. She is patient, kind, and always made us feel comfortable. She is talented and truly exceptional - we knew we could rely on her to do our hair and be our rock on our wedding day!

day. Her communication is outstanding. My contract was straight forward but informative (I love a contract because it feels safer). But truly I had not doubt I could rely on her. She reached out the week before and sent directions for hair prep for the ladies and I. She arrived at the hotel at the crack ass of dawn and was ready to go. My room was small and cramped but she didn’t skip a beat. She was positive and supportive but kept us on a schedule. She gave super helpful feedback to my mom whose hair does not hold a curl, and we had a very humid day. My mom ended up going with Alyssa’s suggestion and her hair looked amazing all night long! She was thrilled. When I tell you that Alyssa did not settle for anything less than perfection on my hair… this girl must have tried at least 2 or 3 different sized barrels for my curls to make sure they were just right. Did I mention she did 9 people’s hair that day? She did not even seem remotely stressed. 100000% would recommend Alyssa for your wedding day hair needs and I’m sure you’ll also love her salon if you go for a trial or a haircut/color.

to my concerns and changes from my trial to my wedding day. She even was texting with me at 8 PM three nights before my wedding while I tried to find a good lip color. I cannot recommend Alyssa enough!

ry patient with my limited knowledge of makeup and redid a few parts for me until we got the natural look I was hoping for just right. The day of the wedding she did my make up, 2 bridesmaids, and 2 moms, and everyone loved how they looked. I’d definitely recommend hiring Alyssa if you’re getting married in the Hartford area!

f the big day! She listened to what myself, and my friends/family wanted to achieve with their makeup- and she delivered. Every single one of us loved our makeup and we all looked incredible! Alyssa was so fun to spend time with, so easy to work with, and I’m so grateful to have had her be a part of our wedding day/experience!

he experience was nothing short of amazing, and I can't thank her enough for making me and my bridesmaids look amazing! Alyssa's talent and expertise were evident right from the beginning. She took the time to sit down with me to understand my vision and preferences, and she offered valuable suggestions that complemented my dress and overall theme. Her attention to detail and creativity truly made my dream bridal hairstyle come to life - it was even better than I had imagined! Not only did she work wonders on my hair, but she also flawlessly styled my bridesmaids' hair, mother's hair, and in-law's hair, each unique and tailored to suit their preferences. The result was a cohesive yet diverse look that perfectly complemented the overall wedding vibe. I appreciated her ability to work with different hair types and lengths, creating stunning looks for each member of the bridal party. Aside from her exceptional skills, she had a calming and reassuring presence that helped ease any pre-wedding jitters. On the big day, she arrived punctually and remained professional throughout the entire process. Her warm and friendly demeanor made the getting-ready experience even more enjoyable, and we shared lots of laughter and smiles. Overall, I cannot recommend this bridal hair artist enough. Her passion for her craft, talent, and wonderful personality make her an absolute delight to work with. If you want a hairstylist who will exceed your expectations and ensure you and your bridesmaids look and feel absolutely gorgeous, then she is the one for you. Thank you, Born&Bred, for being a crucial part of my wedding day and for making it all the more special. You truly are a hair magician, and I am forever grateful for your exceptional work!

recreated them even better than I could've imagined. My makeup was expertly done, simple and sophisticated without looking cakey or too heavy handed. My hair was absolutely stunning and withstood the humidity and a little rain. I couldn't be happier with Alyssa, she went above and beyond for me and my mom who also got her makeup done. Her studio is the perfect place to take those 'getting-ready' photos, so don't forget to ask about that!

It definitely felt like I was getting ready with a good friend! I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Truly made me feel and look beautiful on my special day!!

ng. It was an absolute pleasure working with her and I cannot recommend her enough!

had requested it to be! I would highly recommend Alyssa for all your hair and makeup needs! She is amazing!

with how it turned out! My maid of honor later came up to me and told me she had never felt so beautiful. From the moment I met Alyssa for my bridal trial, I knew I had made the right decision. She’s not only fantastic at her job, she’s incredibly personable and immediately puts you at ease. I left my bridal trial and (after taking about 100 pictures of my hair in the bathroom of her studio’s building and then staring in awe at them) told anyone who would listen that even though the wedding process can be stressful I was SO happy to know I couldn’t have made a better choice with my hair and makeup artist. Alyssa brought another artist to do our makeup due to the number of people and they both worked so seamlessly the morning of the wedding. They had a perfect balance of not stepping on toes or appearing intrusive while also expertly reading a room and sparking fun conversations and creating a lighthearted environment in situations that could’ve have been stressful. So, I’ll say one last time- yes, you should hire Alyssa. Just do it.

and cool to hang out with. The trial was really great, she understood exactly what I wanted and was clear about making sure I was happy with everything (plus her space is just super cool). On the big day, she arrived right on time and made everyone’s hair look beautiful. Everyone was really happy, got lots of compliments, and I was even told that I did a great job finding her. Alyssa did my hair and makeup (she brought another makeup artist for everyone’s makeup) and everything was exactly as planned! Not only is she a great artist, but she was a calming presence when everything else felt chaotic. I cannot recommend Alyssa enough, I only hope I have another reason to get professional hair/makeup so I can work with her again!

up humans getting ready for a wedding is incredible. I have never felt as beautiful as I did when I was done in Alyssa's chair. She is a treasure.

was very professional and organized – a rare find in a wedding vendor! – but also just a joy to hang out with while we all got ready. Highly recommend!

of honor, and mother all of which looked so amazing!! She helped get the celebration started with a great playlist recommendation and really made the whole process fun and easy. I couldn't recommend her enough!

tions I had. She was professional, arrived early and was quick. She added a calming presence to the bridal suite. I am so thankful I came across her page on the knot. I can’t recommend her enough!

he whole day. On top of all that she has an amazing personality that helps to make you feel chill. Book her! you won't regret it!

ntract to trial day to the big day - Alyssa was on it. Patient and receptive to all of our changing wants for our bridal looks and a pleasure to have on site, would not hesitate to rec or work with again. We also just loved the Born & Bred studio and getting to hang out there for our trial!

ding day. She understood exactly what I wanted for both hair and makeup. I had a jewelry pin that I really wanted to add to my hair and with her arts and crafts skills, she made it happen. She is wonderful to work with and an absolute professional. Not to mention her studio is fabulous!

ests for a natural look and made me feel the most beautiful I have ever felt. She checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I was happy and comfortable, and even worked with my maid of honor to show her how to remove my veil later on. My husband was in awe of her work, and kept staring at me all day saying "Wow she did such a great job!". Her work reflected in all of my photos, and I received many compliments. Alyssa is so golden hearted, caring, and passionate and it shines through in her work. I was so lucky to have her with me that day to make me feel like a beautiful bride. She is the absolute best!

wedding day from Alyssa!
