I always dreamed of an outdoor wedding and Almquist was the perfect place to do that! The granary building was very spacious for the entire wedding party to get ready, and the reception barn was beautiful. It fit the rustic theme that I had wanted, which made decorating so much easier. Paul and Kari were fabulous, responsive, and such a big help with my many questions. Plus, they had chickens and goats outside on the property which I loved!! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an outdoor or rustic feel for their wedding!

So much so, we decided to share this beautiful place with others who would also appreciate the beauty and history of our family farm. As you enjoy the casual elegance of our barn and granary and the beauty of the landscape, we hope you will keep in mind the legacy of Almquist Farm. It is a 5th generation standing testament to the importance of family, and to the work ethic of all of those who have called it home over the years. We are glad to share it with you!

same. Our wedding day it downpoured majority of the day, but I insisted that we were going to continue as planned and have the ceremony outside. Almquist Farms venue is incredibly beautiful, elegant and cozy at the same time. But the landscape surrounding it will absolutely take your breath away, so you can see why I was going to have that ceremony outside rain or shine lol. Johanna was an absolute rockstar through the whole process of booking the venue and checking in with us on the day of! She was watching that forecast like a hawk for us. And I will never forget when she rushed over to us and said, "We have about a 30 min window of no rain!!" Her and her crew got the chairs all wiped down and we were out! And 30 mins is exactly what we got, not a min more or a min less. We will never forget that day and all the help and kindness we experienced from Paul, Kari and the rockstar Johanna! <3

One of our favorite parts of Almquist was the animals — the kittens, chickens, and goats added so much charm and joy to the day. Our guests adored them, and since both of us grew up on farms, it made the venue feel even more like “us.”
Throughout the planning process, Almquist was always prompt and helpful in answering any questions we had, which gave us so much peace of mind.

d down on us 4 months before we were scheduled to get married, leaving us with no refund and panicking. We reached out to Almquist to see if they had our date (tried to keep it since we had everything lined up already), and miraculously they did. They listened to our story and generously gave us their rental space for free, given we had lost thousands of dollars on our original venue. The guests loved the venue, and the goats and chickens were a bit with the kids. Don’t forget to bring veggie straws for the goats and chickens to eat! But overall they were amazing and helped us when we were truly panicking about where we would get married. They worked with our other venders seamlessly, and we had no other issues. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a rustic feel - and I’ve been calling it a “boujie barn.” It’s fancy but also still gives the barn feel. We can’t thank the owners enough for what they did for us - it was truly a blessing and the best day of our lives!

The Curtis family was so helpful and welcoming from the moment we toured their venue. They were very responsive to all our questions, and always responded quickly! They have open houses the first Wednesday of every month that were super helpful to prepare decorations. Even with our large guest count the bar service was great all night! They even provided an extra beer tent to keep up with our large group.

Our guests loved the venue, too. The shaded ceremony site really helped out on a warm day, and the birdsong down there is lovely. The lawn beside the barn is awesome for cornhole and tumbling tower, and the kids loved seeing the goats and chickens. We set up our tables around the dance floor so nothing had to be moved (200 guests), and there wasn’t a bad seat in the house. Guests also appreciated the campfire outside, which provided a nice break from the craziness indoors!
We loved working with Paul and Kari, who were really responsive; between their helpfulness and common-sense venue policies, we really felt like they’re in this to share their gorgeous property and help make wonderful memories (especially compared to other venues we toured, who would charge you for tap water if they could!). The bar was also a hit; we were glad that they had good options (things we would drink at home!), and they worked with us to set a bar schedule that worked with our budget.
We’re recommending Almquist to all our friends, not least because we want to go back as guests! Thanks, Paul and Kari, for a lovely experience!

l the day of making things run smoothly and transitioning the space over from ceremony to reception. We received so many compliments about the venue and the efficiency of the team during the transition process between ceremony and reception. The getting ready spaces were perfect and fit our large wedding party comfortably. As a bonus on top of all of this the goats were a hit with our guests!

The granary is a separate building where were were able to get ready with plenty of space and was decorated in a welcoming way. The rolling hills of the landscape made our photos beautiful even in the late fall. The reception hall has tons of windows with lots of natural light and a stunning fireplace where we exchanged our vows. Our guests enjoyed the venue including the goats and kittens that were fenced just outside of the venue. Absolutely wonderful venue that I highly recommend!

was spacious and easy to get too (we liked that the girl's get-ready area was upstairs so the guys didn't run into them while getting ready, but we would still be gathered together for picture/ceremony/etc. The reception hall was gorgeous and very spacious (plenty of room for our 120 guests). The owners were fantastic to work with. They were quick to respond to emails, present on the day to help with anything, and they did provide the bartenders and alcohol for the bar. Overall, it was a great experience, and we could not have asked for a better place for our special day.

grainery provides great spaces for both the bride's party and groom's party to get ready and the relatively new barn was designed specifically to host events so it an ideal space to eat, drink, dance and be merry with all the people who matter to you. The tables and chairs available are beautiful and require nothing to dress them up for the event. We brought a handful of pumpkins and a couple mums but otherwise, did not bother with decorations of any kind because there was really no need.
All these things are amazing but what I found to be special and unique about working with Paul and Kari at Almquist was the thought and care they put into each event they host on their incredible property. With the wedding industry being so overwhelming due to the sheer amount of choices you have to make, the list of caters, DJ services, florists, hair and makeup, wedding coordinators, bakeries, etc. , who have all worked with Paul and Kari in the past and vetted by them was invaluable. It gave us direction while planning and narrowed down the choices to help make decisions manageable. We utilized their list to hire our DJ, wedding coordinator, caterer, guest transportation, and photo booth and were extremely happy with all of our choices. They were communicative and professional and transparent about their expectations as well as very receptive to our wants and needs. A huge thank you to Paul and Kari and the rest of their family that helped us out on our big day. We loved every minute of it!

The outdoor ceremony space and indoor reception/barn was so beautiful and a dream - our guests are still commenting on how it was the most gorgeous wedding that they have attended. The getting ready space was perfect and provided a relaxing atmosphere for both the wedding party and our families. ceremony space, the reception hall, and outdoor space with a bonfire, goats, space for games, and for people to gather and chat, Almquist has everything you could want and need on your wedding day. Paul and Kari are wonderful to work with. They host open houses on the first Wednesday of every month where you can go look at the venue, bring decorations to try out, and to ask any questions. The open houses were extremely beneficial to help our day go as smoothly as possible. They are quick to answer questions and make sure everything is in place to make the day run as smoothly as possible.
