Dawnet went above and beyond before, during, and after our wedding. She made every step easier for us. She provided so much valuable advice along the way and made sure we didn’t worry about a THING on the day of our wedding. When we had an unexpected downpour, she pivoted and executed a whole new schedule with minimal disruption. What could have easily been a stressful disaster felt like a minor inconvenience. We would definitely recommend APOC events, she will be our first call the next time we are planning an event in the Seattle area! Thank you so much Dawnet for making our dream wedding a reality. We appreciate everything you have done for us!

Dawnet absolutely crushed it. Her energy throughout the pre-planning and day-of execution was so calm and unflinching. She dropped our planning stress levels considerably. Her competence and confidence shone brightly through the most exhausting, chaotic, wonderful day of our lives (thus far lol).
Her most valuable asset to us: From the A-30 day meeting to 9pm on our wedding night, Dawnet established herself as our sole focal point throughout the entire experience...If we needed ANYTHING, she was always within line of sight...and unless Dawnet was looking for us, we felt completely at ease to live in the present and enjoy the moment.

There are not enough words to describe Dawnet and a Piece of Cake Events. Just returned home from my son’s destination wedding. I have never seen a wedding be so organized, beautif...
ul, every little detail thought about-so that the bride and groom and everyone involved could enjoy the day. In this case-as a destination wedding, there were several days of activities. From the welcome party, wedding day and boat day, Dawnet thought of everything! When my daughter decides to get married we will be calling Dawnet. She is worth every penny and more!

I would have completely lost and overwhelmed planning a 100 person wedding on my own. Dawnet made the process seamless. She set up routine meetings at each wedding checkpoint and g...
ave us a task list of things to do to prepare for the wedding. This broke up the complicated process, into easy takable pieces for each month.
Dawnet hears your vision, then helps pair you with the vendors that are most able to make that vision come true. She even helped us research, tour, and book a venue in less than three days.
Michele, our day of coordinator, made each step of the wedding day stress free and running on time. She was one of the first people there in the morning and the last to leave that night. She made sure we were feed, had space to breathe, got time with all of our friends and family, and had the time of our lives.
I can't recommend this team enough.

If the wedding of your dreams feels impossible, you haven't met Dawnet Davis. I had a VERY specific vision for the best day of my life and I'm happy to report that came to fruition...
. That could not have happened without Dawnet and Michele Riles. If you're on the fence about hiring a planner, do it! Save your sanity and let a true professional manage the details, so you can enjoy the process. My wedding planning process was seamless from start to finish, despite minor hiccups with the venue. Dawnet and Michele are detail oriented, thoughtful, and highly skilled at what they do -- on top of being very warm, kind and down to earth people. Worth every penny.

I just want to start this off with, I am so utterly thankful to Dawnet. She is genuinely one of the best people you can have on your team when it comes to wedding planning and day ...
of coordination! At first, I thought I would only need day of coordination, but after talking with my mom, I chose to also utilize her planning services too! She is ultra-organized and has everything down to a science. She has great ideas and totally helped me brainstorm a bunch of cool and personal touches for the wedding day to make it feel more "US". I am so thankful for her and all she did for the wedding, especially since I was not only trying to organize a wedding in a different state (AZ to WA), but also I had just been laid off and was job searching and interviewing during this time. Dawnet made everything so easy that even though I was stressed with all the things going on in my personal life, I was able to easily buckle down and get the wedding stuff taken care of. She also has a great list of vendors that she can recommend if you are still needing people. Do yourself a favor and have Dawnet join your wedding team. You won't regret it one bit.
Also, just do yourself a favor and have her at least do your day of stuff. You don't want to have to deal with people, vendors, or legistoics on your big day. You planned so much, just relax and enjoy it!

Unfortunately, i cannot agree with how amazing this company is.. I didn’t enjoy the miscommunication, disorganization and wasting money on a rehearsal for what we rehearsed not to ...
be done on the day of and the stress of the DOC not setting up the correct things and not having us walk out of the correct door (as rehearsed 4 times). I even made sure we set up most of the decor for the DOC the night of rehearsal.. (we had tables done, welcome table and arch done even pulled chairs out and lined them up in rows etc)
My family from out of town and my wedding party and photographer at that had to do most of the DOC’s work and to me that defeats the purpose of me even paying for the service.
I very much regret being okay with them sending anther employee that was not my actual DOC to rehearsal thinking they knew what they were doing and would communicate to each other.
Response from A Piece of Cake Events, Inc.
Thank you for your feedback, it is always our top priority to make our clients happy. We w...
ould like to address some of the concerns that you stated in the review. After speaking to both Coordinators involved and the Photographer, I have to say all were very surprised with the negative review. They all said that you and your guests seemed extremely happy with the services and on the day of; you even had conversation with the Day-of Coordinator about how excited you were for your honeymoon you were going on the next day. We truly value couples but we know this day is also special to our couples’ families as well. I would like to address the main concern regarding the door the wedding party walked through for the ceremony. The reason for the door change was due to guests moving furniture to allow more room for the dance floor for later that evening. We don’t like to overstep our boundaries, and since we were informed setup and décor was going to be taken in previous planning meetings our Coordinator did not want to overstep and move the table. The door the wedding party ended up walking through was more than sufficient and no more than a yard away from the original door you practiced out of. There was also a comment in the review made about having all of the setup done on the day of the rehearsal. You did express you were having your family do all of the set-up and you may just have a few welcome signs for our Coordinator to set-up. However, that was not the case. The Mother of the Bride brought in a large amount of items to set-up on the tables, which the tables were not completely set-up like stated at the rehearsal. Our Coordinator did help the Mother of the Bride with unpacking and setting up those items. The Mother of the Bride was also very grateful and very nice to our Coordinator and appreciated all of her help. Since we were not provided with a layout or floor plan, our Coordinator was unsure how to incorporate the décor items that were brought in. After speaking with the Photographer, I was informed that she did not help with any Coordinator duties. She expressed how fabulous and sweet our Day of Coordinator was. Many couples do value our services as we do like to go over and beyond for our couples. However, we do offer other services which give more support. Maybe one of your bigger packages would have been a better fit for you. We wish you the best as you start your new lives together.

“They are the best! Hire them please, hire them!” This is exactly what I said to my future sister in law who’s wedding is next year.
Dawnet helped me during planning phase. We ha...
d a every good system. We had a kick off meeting at the very beginning to set some expectations, and a budget planning meeting for set budget outlines. Then we would touch base about once a month to discuss what need to be done this coming month. She will provide some great recommendations for working on these. Then we would follow up on emails for questions I have during working on these tasks.
Michele is our day of coordinator. We had a meeting about 1 month ahead of the wedding. I was very stressed out around that time. I felt very nervous and very overwhelmed because it’s about the time to finalized all the details with every body. Right after the meeting with Michele, I felt I unloaded a ton of load off my shoulder. She knows exactly what is she doing. She though of all the details even some that I did not think about. She coordinated with all the vendors and my wedding parties for me to set everybody on the same page. On the wedding day. I did not stress about one single thing, Michele and Robin who is our assistant coordinator, worked together to lead all vendors and wedding party to run the show. I could not imagine anything could go any better on my wedding day. I had a perfect wedding, and A Piece of Cake Event team plays a big part of it!! I would recommend them to every one! (Yes, my future sister in law hired them. I cannot wait to see them next year!)

Planning a wedding can be hard in general, but planning a wedding through a pandemic and having to reschedule three times due to the pandemic is just unfair. Throughout the entire ...
time A Piece of Cake Events, specifically Dawnet and Michele, were incredibly flexible and helpful in making sure our "day-of" coordination was handled to perfection. We initially worked with Dawnet and due to a conflict in schedule on our final wedding date were transitioned over to Michele, which was a smooth and easy process and allowed us to feel confident our wedding was going to be coordinated to perfection. Throughout the day we didn't have a single worry and were able to relax and have fun while Michele helped to run the show in the background. Thank you again to the team and for all of your help and support over the past couple of years to make our wedding day so much fun!

We are so glad we hired Dawnet at APOC events. We actually decided to go with a speaker system and no DJ, and took the saved money on that to get a day of coordinator. We are extre...
mely glad we did that, it was worth every penny. I highly recommend moving around your budget if needed to hire her. We met with Dawnet a month before, and continued to communicate with her throughout the last month. She created a master schedule, coordinated the rehearsal, and was doing all of the little things the day of. She was absolutely incredible, and a pleasure to work with. I recommend her to all of my friends and family.

We don't even know where to begin. Lets start off with, "WOW".
We were initially planning a destination wedding in Florida, spoke to 14 planners, hired 3, ended with 0. It seemed...
impossible to find a planner with the same communication style and vision for our wedding. All while trying to do so in the center of Covid just made matters even worse. From the moment we were engaged, the overwhelming stress overpowered the excitement we were suppose to be relishing in. This was sad to us.
So we decided to give up on our dream wedding idea, planned to marry in the woods behind our property because it was impossible to find a venue with the restrictions in place and pushed the date up. When I found Dawnet and told her we were getting married in two months, she didn't even blink an eye.
We purchased the partial planning packet but it seemed we had the premium package from day one! Dawnet planned literally everything start to finish, communicated and found all of our vendors, gave a personal recommendation for our beautiful venue and even provided me with TO-DO lists with time stamps and due dates-LOVED THAT! I can't tell you how many times Dawnet has told me along the way, "Relax, I will handle this. That's what you hired me to, remember?"
She and her team went above and beyond what we could have imaged. Her staff stepped in and provided a service that they typically don't do. Our day would have not been as magical as it was had we hired another planner. If you are looking for someone who is an excellent communicator (which what bride doesn't want answers right away?), skilled problem solver, someone with elegant taste, great listener and resourceful and just a great person all around-Dawnet is your gal.
Along this intense process, I truly felt I have acquired a new friend along way as well :)

Dawnet is currently our wedding planner for our 2021 wedding. We originally had a 2020 wedding but it was postponed to next year. However, we ended up with a small event for this y...
ear along with next years wedding. Not only did Dawnet go out of her way to ensure that the postponement went smooth and easy for me but she also was there to help with this years small event. I could not have asked for a more understanding and helpful wedding planner during a pandemic. She is 100% worth every dime!!!

Hiring Dawnet and working with her company was the best decision I made while wedding planning. She helped me find all the vendors I needed to put on a small, pandemic-friendly wed...
ding. We had about 35 guests at an outdoor venue. When new covid-19 restrictions were issued in July and we had to move up the wedding two weeks (!!!), Dawnet sprung into action. Despite it being a smaller event, the big day didn’t feel like a compromise or like we were settling. It felt so special and perfect, largely because Dawnet found us all the vendors we needed. I had an awkward situation with a photographer and needed a replacement, and Dawnet found me an amazing photographer in no time! She has all the right connections. She also compiled a timeline and packet for the day of which my bridal party, family and vendors all referred to. On the day of, Michelle was our coordinator and she was also amazing. A Piece if Cake Events helped me plan and put on a truly special day that my husband and I will never forget. These are uncertain times but you can still have an amazing wedding if you use a little imagination and the right vendors. Thank you to APOC Events!
