It was easy to work with A Beat Away. Our package included Joe as our DJ and a videographer. Joe recently had surgery so we also had Peter as our MC the night of our wedding. The A...
Beat Away website is easy to use and helpful to put all requested music in one place. The week before our wedding Peter and Joe confirmed and reassured us that they had reviewed our requested music and genres and were excited for our selections. Our entrances were perfect, and everyones names were pronounced correctly. Our first dance went off without a hitch and the special request my mother-in-law made for the first dinner song was a wonderful surprise. I was so pleased with the volume of the dinner music, everyone was able to talk with their tables without having to yell. The uplighting was a nice touch as well.
I only gave 3 stars because the order of toasts was not what we had planned, and because of the mistake my father was skipped and didn't want to make a big deal of it so never got to talk. Also, my now husband had to ask them to play the songs from our "must play" list after the 3 first songs weren't even any of our requested songs and they only played 1 of our 2 requested last songs. Finally, there were a couple of miscues in the music, making some awkward transitions and dead spots in my father/daughter dance.
Joe and Peter were very nice and kept assuring us that they wanted to make sure everything was perfect for us, which made me have extremely high expectations. I do recommend A Beat Away Entertainment with the suggestion of making sure to be very clear about the order of events and music selection.

when i found a beat away i had been refered to them through a family member. while looking for a dj i wanted something very specific. my soon to be husband and i listen to an eclec...
tic mix of music including rock, hardcore, punk, classic country(johhny cash), frank sinatra. so i knew it would be hard to find someone with all the music we wanted so we were really loking for somone who worked off mp3s on a computer. At first a beat away was very open to our idea of what we wanted we agreed that we would put all the music on a thumb drive and he would arrainge the music. As it got closer to the wedding i had email him and asked when we could sit down and go over the music we wanted played and during which part of the wedding we wanted it played. he wanted to call me so we could have a "meeting" with our computers on the phone. I was not super happy about that i like to meet and talk in person so i felt like my wedding wasnt very important to him. we went over everything and i told him wed send over the thumb drive. the day of my rehersal dinner i get an email telling me that he is going to be very busy for our wedding weekend and wanted me to go through his data base and find all the music he had and didnt have and send him a list. like i didnt have enough to do. this is why i wanted to be in person and meet earlier than a week before the wedding. so i was a bit annoyed. but i wanted the music to be perfect, so i did it. come the day of my wedding i was so busy. being pulled one way and the other so i didnt really notice that the dj wasnt playing alot of the music i had put on the must play list. after the toasts our best woman surprised us with a toast from my husbands brother (he was deployed in afghanistan and couldnt come home for the wedding) it was so sweet. so while thanking her for such a sweet gesture she informed us she had contacted our dj and he was completely uninterested and un helpful. so already i had a bad taste in my mouth about that. then i realize he was playing all this music that i did not want. a lot of 80s and stuff liek that which wasnt us at all. i was not pleased becasue i had put more work into the djing than he did. i wont be recomending him to anyone becasue he just was super unhelpful and un attentive. my wedding was amazing but i had a lot of people ask me what was up with the music because it didnt seem like music wed pick or have at the wedding. and it really wasnt.
